He shares his thoughts on the process of continuous learning which needs to be imbibed in each of the teacher’s minds and how the Indian Education system doesn’t allow much flexibility in terms of providing quality education. The faculty and the staff forms the backbone of the college and the college constantly inculcates skill based learning and focuses more on practical applications. In the later segment of the interview he aims to produce quality educationists and rank holders validate our motto of quality education.

Enabling rural students to get the facilities that are available to the urban students is where the Indian education industry should focus

A great majority of the graduates that are produced in the country today are unemployable. What students lack are the necessary skills to participate in the workforce in the current atmosphere. For imparting proper skills, we need to work on the infrastructure of the college and build an atmosphere to provide essential learning components

The majority of the students in the rural sector do not get the same access to education as the urban students. Enabling rural students to get the facilities that are available to the urban students is where the Indian education industry should focus on in the coming years.

The leader should maintain a positive attitude and spread optimism in the atmosphere for the people to prosper

An effective leader should guide the people working with him/her and help them overcome their fears. A leader should be a welcoming and approachable figure.Leadership succeeds in an organization/Industry/Institute when the workers under him/her feel confident and there is a trust.

Engaging Team members by leaders is often necessary to keep them motivated and good spirited. I often look outside and beyond what is to be offered and whenever I learn something new, I share it with my team members, I keep them engaged.

The leader should maintain a positive attitude and spread optimism in the atmosphere he/she is part of. Majority of the time a leader should stand up in difficult situations and be willing to take the blame for some mistakes made by the team members. In other words, ownership and accountability form the core of leadership.

The process of continuous learning is a culture which needs to be imbibed in each of the teacher’s minds

My Biggest challenge I face each day is to create value every day in a student's life. For me, a student should be on the path of continuous learning, and when my students feel stagnant in the learning front, then I feel that I am doing something wrong.

This process of continuous learning is a culture which needs to be imbibed in each of the teacher’s minds. Only if the whole atmosphere is conducive for learning, everyone in the ecosystem learns. This, in turn, passes on or trickles down to students.

The Indian Education system doesn’t allow much flexibility in terms of pedagogy and curriculum

Indian Education system is rigid according to me. The Indian Education system doesn’t allow much flexibility in terms of pedagogy and curriculum. In India, institutes often stress on theoretical learning and lab based learning is something which majority of the colleges are not willing to invest in the current scenario.

Being an Arts & Science college, language labs and Socio-Emotional training to students is an essential factor. Students in our college not only concentrate on grades and marks, they are also subjected to practical understanding of courses through training and group activities

The Education system in foreign countries stresses more on Technological Innovations and gadgets which Indian Universities are slowly starting to recognize its value. Our college has a vision to adapt new technologies which will help the future batches of students to study Arts & Science courses in a more interactive way.

My mission is to develop the latest infrastructure for my students and continue to strive to bring inclusive education to rural students

First and foremost, my work entails me to manage the routine activities such as preparation of academic schedules, allocating staff , commercial parts etc. I have to maintain the relationship of the college with the University, governments, and education boards. During Auditing, there is a necessity to make the audit understand certain aspects of the college. I am functioning as the chief of the governing body too. My mission is to develop the latest infrastructure for my students and continue to strive to bring inclusive education to rural students.

We strive to provide Quality education at an affordable rate to all our students

Our college’s two biggest strengths would be Staff as well as the infrastructure we have set up in our college. The college has highly Qualified and experienced Staff. Majority of our students come from rural backgrounds. Thus, we strive to provide Quality education at an affordable rate. This can’t be achieved without the support of our staff members.

The infrastructure we provide to the students are inclusive and highly conducive for continuous learning. We provide a green and clean campus where students can explore learning in a zero carbon footprint set-up. We have good sports facilities. As we stress very much on overall inclusive development of an individual, we provide utmost importance to the physical fitness of the students

I strive to take my college global by inviting foreign students to be a part of our college

As a principal, there are always routine challenges that I need to take care of on a daily basis. But, there are some significant challenges where we are slowly starting to address them. We have our college set-up in a rural area, which means that there is always a cost factor involved with building world-class infrastructure. The operating cost too is on the higher side which I am answerable to my management.

I also strive to take my College global by inviting foreign students to be a part of our college. So far, we have achieved a significant process in that step. We have started to actively advertise to foreign universities. On the same hand,we need to prepare our rural students for a global exposure. Both should go hand in hand. Also as major colleges face, retaining the talented faculties also is an issue with other colleges coming up with lucrative offers.

We constantly inculcate skill based learning and focus more on practical applications

Our aim from the founding days is to make all our students employable. We have strived constantly to provide skill based learning and focus more on practical applications of whatever knowledge they learn in science courses. 10 years ahead of the curve, we would like all our students to bag offers from various national imminent institutions and higher studies institutions.

We also want to tie up with various industries to set up science labs and language labs in our institute. We would want every student of ours to be a part of such labs and utilize the maximum through this exposure. We also strive towards gender equality. We want to enroll more girl students in our institute on a consistent year on year basis.

We want to ensure we have a 360 feedback mechanism in our college

We want to ensure we have a 360 feedback mechanism in our college, where faculties and staff need to be given feedback to continuously work on their skills. The College Head will report to the Management concerning all the commercials of the college, thus the entire team needs to support the college head of data and timely action to maintain a healthy relationship between college and management. We want to create an inclusive culture where staff and faculties have a free and independent thought process going on. We will not take action on any staff members on a college based on any discrimination and we want representation in our college from all strata of the society.

Our students are encouraged to think loud and clear as being parts of Arts students' expression of their thoughts is foremost important. We want to provide a secure environment for girl students who strive to make it to the top in the male dominated job market. Girl students are giving monetary assistance and scholarships to help them come out of financial trouble and to soar high.

Producing quality educationists and rank holders validate our motto of quality education

When I came to college, the first motto was to inculcate the motto to Provide Quality Education and to build confidence in the students to face challenges in life. We have since then striven to meet this mission by improving on a continuous basis.

I had certain personal visions for Angappa College when I joined. I wanted to make Angappa college a Premium Institution with Premium Facilities. We wanted to produce more Rank holders in the Universities exam. This way we will get the attention and monetary support we get to build world class infrastructure. It’s also my wish to get and sustain the highest grade in NAAC with high cumulative points.
