Dr. Acharya Ranjan is the Pro Vice-Chancellor at the Netaji Subhas University. He did LLM, PhD in Law and began his academic career as an Assistant Professor in the first Autonomous Law College of Bihar. He has experience in developing curriculum for the courses of BA, LLB, BBA, LLM and PhD. He supervised around 185 students of LL.M in dissertations on different contemporary legal issues. He has more than 10 years of experience throughout his career.

What is your leadership philosophy?

“To think about the present/future perspective and follow a democratic style”

Our philosophy is to interact with stakeholders, think about the present and future perspectives on campus. We admire the values and try to fulfill the goals to create an academic environment. A leader influences many people and each situation is solved by them. The campus follows a democratic style that contributes to the potential of every individual in a team. On other hand, the autocratic style assists to manage the decision, control and lead a team. My duty is to monitor the performance of each member and recruit the correct people to campus.


What are the valuable insights that are offered at your campus?

“Personality development, Industrial visit, Academic tour, Legal aid camp, and Expert Interaction are available in the campus”

We provide various activities along with learning to support every pupil. They get a chance to explore academic subjects along with career possibilities. Our campus gives personality development, Industrial visit, Academic tour, Legal aid camp, and Expert Interactions relating to careers perspective for all students. All these take place each year for the development of students.


How do you build an industry connection with your programs?

“Develop and design new modules with the opinion of subject matter experts from industry”

We build partnerships with several organizations and collaborate with the industry. Our faculties design methods to raise the existing curriculum. Moreover, we decide to develop new modules with the opinion of subject matter experts from the industry. Students get certificates after the successful completion of the programs.

What challenges do you face while inculcating curriculum?

“Lack of communication skills and family problems of students”

We face difficulty understanding the family problems and personal issues of students. Lack of communication among students is another challenge on campus. The faculties support and motivate each pupil at every time. It ensures discipline inside our campus.


What are the new programs implemented in Netaji Subhas University?

“Undergraduate and Postgraduate programs in Management, Computer Applications, Education, Pharmacy, Law, Agriculture, and Polytechnic for students.”

We decided to introduce LL.M-2 year, M.Pharm, and Bio-Technology in the upcoming years. University implements programs in Management, computer applications, Education, Pharmacy, Law, Hotel Management Pharmaceutical science, Agriculture, and Polytechnic for students. Hence, the admission rate is increasing each year due to the value of courses.


What extracurricular activities enhance the skills of students to face real world challenges?

Our campus consists of an active committee to take care of programs. We organize the interaction with subject experts and industry professionals for pupils. They get the chance to participate in an online webinar and International professional sessions. Each student on campus should participate in every extracurricular activity on campus.

Our campus consists of a placement cell that is coordinated by faculties and industry experts. Many students get placements each year. We see a rise in the rate of placement compared to the previous year.

How do you guide students to survive in an outside competition?

“Create a positive competition, set goals, build teamwork, and mix fun into lessons”

Our campus contains highly qualified faculties who encourage students in every work. We create a positive environment by implementing fun and humor in classrooms. Another one is to develop various lesson plans that improve the knowledge and interests of students. A new lesson quickly grabs the interests of students. The faculties support the students by setting several goals and it leads them to work hard. Moreover, rewards for them encourage them to work more and be enthusiastic in work. Students on our campus work in a team and it raises their motivation. The fun activities mixed in our lessons and did not distract the students in classes.
