Rajini brings with her a vast experience of 15+ years in high caliber management, and social and cultural ventures. She has been a keynote speaker on various conferences and forums, and has been widely quoted in the media regarding IT, outsourcing, talent management, rural employment and women empowerment. Also, she has been a recipient of the prestigious 'Edupreneur Award 2013' and prestigious “Business Wizards of Tamil Nadu” Award, 2011.

How do you describe your leadership style in the education sector?

“Collaboration with team to have a successful working system” 

I am very passionate about Education. Having attended world class universities and studying under the best teachers, I understand the value and impact of world class education in a student’s life. My leadership style is collaborative with teamwork and participation. I usually delegate tasks at different levels to induce a smooth workflow and achieve our mission. I take responsibility to enhance each member’s capacity and assign tasks in a multifold way. 

What is the long-term vision of MIDAS for students to achieve excellence?

“More practical and dynamic academic atmosphere”

Our vision has always been to bring out ‘Innovation and Creativity' from the students in the Architecture field by providing our students exposure to world class and best practices in the field. For this, we conduct guest lectures and workshops from top architects of the world like AA School of Architecture, Zaha Hadid, Hafiz Contractor etc. We give them practical training and aspire to create a collaborative environment where students can learn and earn simultaneously. 

How does the curriculum of MIDAS ensure the best practice of the industry?

“Latest technological perspectives and their study”

MIDAS is affiliated to and follows the syllabus of Anna University which is already very diverse in its approach. Over and above that, we conduct regular workshops and hands-on training on all aspects of Design and Planning. We conduct special classes on software used in Architecture like BIM (Building Information Modeling), and also have sessions on New-Age Technologies like IOT (Internet of Things), AR and VR (Augmented Reality and Virtual Reality), 3D Printing etc.

How do you guide your students to survive in such a highly competitive scenario?

Competition in any field is good and helps in bringing out the best in a student. Our principal and professors are accomplished architects who have both practice and academic experience, and they guide and motivate our students to excel. On the college front, we provide the best Infrastructure, state-of-the-Art labs and a conducive campus for learning. Our professors conduct varied workshops, extracurricular activities, mentoring sessions and healthy entertainment to the students. Many guest speakers are invited to address life skills as well.

What would you like people to know about your Institution they may not know?

“Global collaborative meetings and gatherings”

MIDAS has hosted the Annual convention, National Architectural Students Association (NASA) in 2015, where a record number of 6500 students participated. MIDAS has created the world’s largest painting on the Theme of “Model of Developed India” on a space of 50,000 sq. ft. with 1200 Architectural students in 6 hours. In 2015, MIDAS co-hosted the National Symposium on “Sustainable Smart Cities” along with COA. In 2016, MIDAS became the first college to host the Anna University inter-college sports meet for Architectural colleges at our campus where 28 colleges took part. MIDAS has conducted many workshops where renowned architects from across the globe have visited the college. Also, we hosted the founding meeting of the Indian Chapter of RIBA (Royal Institute of British Architects), in 2014.

Architecture is one of the few professions that combines the usage of logical reasoning, and creativity and leadership at the same time. This profession combines education with on-the-job training during internship, that every student has to undergo. On completing B.Arch, an Architect can set up professional practice or find employment or become an entrepreneur and become a job creator.
