What factors, benefits, and career options make this program the best for the students to opt for, what are the best practices that you offer in this course to make students ready for the future?

B.Sc. is a very popular and a career-oriented Undergraduate program. Chemistry is a subject that is loved by all science students as it opens the doors for many government jobs. 

Being a Faculty/ HOD of the Chemistry Department, what are your roles and responsibilities towards the students?

Being a faculty of Chemistry, I deliver lectures for B.Sc. from the first to third year, take my labs and make students ready for their university exams. I also look after many curricular and extracurricular activities and help students whenever they need my guidance.

Do you have any extracurricular activities/ programs to enhance the skills of the students or expose them to real-world challenges?

Many extracurricular activities are organized in the college regularly like Freshers Parties, Cultural Events, Children’s Day celebrations, Blood Donation Camps, Anandam activities and Sports tournaments. These activities help students to nurture their talent as well as groom their personalities for a better future.

When you came to college, what was your vision and how are you trying to achieve the same?

My prime objective is to make my students all-rounders in all the fields of their life. They should be capable enough to choose the right path in academics, sports and all other domains of their lives. To achieve this goal, we work hard with our students in classrooms, labs and other platforms available. 

How does the department/ college enhance the faculty’s skills and prepare them according to the industry standards?

Many research papers have been published recently by the faculty members in various national and international research journals. We conduct workshops, symposia and other research-based activities for all students as well as for faculty members. 

How do you tend to establish healthy relations with the students and fellow faculty?

To establish good relations with faculty and students, different activities like mentoring, quizzes, co-curricular events, and Anandam days are celebrated so that all mingle and interact with each other. This helps them to build up good relationships with both peers and faculty.

What valuable advice would you like to give to the students for them to have a prosperous career ahead?

I would advise students to focus on their goals, concentrate on their studies and work hard so that they may come out with flying colours in all domains of their lives.
