Amid the lockdown, what are the major challenges faced and how you have planned to cope up with the same?
“Overcoming challenges by taking control of the situations has helped us move forward”
Ever since the onset of COVID 19 pandemic, every industry has been affected. The coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic has triggered an unparalleled shock to the global economy. The education sector has also faced its set of challenges, especially when it comes to fee collection, conducting online classes, and examination. However, all challenges can be tackled if worked sympathetically and systematically with 100% efforts. That’s how IIMM Delhi managed to complete the syllabus successfully and is moving forward to having the examination now. Humanity is known to survive and revolve around the hardest situation, and that’s what we have done.
“The admission process is slow due to Covid 19. This year's peak admission time has shifted to June – September/October. As everything is opening up, things will get back to normal.”
How do you bring a fresh perspective for the students apart from what you teach in the syllabus?
“It is important that students learn and strive for excellence, and we give a helping hand for the same”
We have organized lectures for students to have a change concerning their syllabus. We also managed to bring TV Anchor Ms. Romana Isar Khan of the ABP fame to lecture students about the media skill requirements. Sessions like this help students learn stories behind the scenes and survive in such compelling newsrooms and pre-post productions. IIMM Delhi always is up for exciting and interactive events. The lockdown didn’t stop us, and we are so happy about the responses like always.

Do you have any extracurricular activities/ programs to enhance the skills of the students or expose them to real-world challenges?
“We organize various activities for the holistic development of the students”
During regular times, we always ensure to have at least one workshop per month, focusing on student's personality development, digital literacy, and extracurricular activities. This not just enhances the productivity of the students but also boosts confidence to face real-world problems. IIMM Delhi is always thriving in providing the industry with the best of its resources in every sector. Thus, we continue to evolve several interpersonal extracurricular and curricular activities that boost the participants' confidence and give them a break from monotonous routines.
What is the placement statistics of your college? Till date, what has been your avg. the package offered to the student?
“IIMM nurtures students & takes pride in inhibiting influential minds inclined towards skillfulness”
We allow our students to furnish their arts and skills. The placement can only be guaranteed when the student utilized all the offerings we provided. I am not much sure about the statistics this year because of the ongoing situation. Usually, the average ranges from 20K per month to even 35K per month, depending on the industry and students' portfolio. Our students are working & placed with all the major media giants, cooperates houses & advertising PR agencies PAN India.
What is your philosophy of leadership? How would you describe your leadership style?
“It is important to evolve in all dimensions with the current trends and give maximum exposure to the students”
I always believed that education needs to evolve and process the way students learn efficiently. Education shouldn’t be just textbooks based projects; it should be fun and energetic, which is why I always ensure to send my students to the ground to shoot, dance, record, play, etc. Its fun, and they learn better when they have the opportunity to practice their crafts. That’s how I have managed to engage students to study based on both qualitative and quantitative
“The infrastructure is a challenge only during the admissions process. We are fully equipped in-house with all the modern equipment required for training & workshops. We also give a chance to our students for hand-on experience & live session experiences.”
With the competition so high, how do you guide your students to survive in such a competitive scenario?
“We organize various workshops to help students develop leadership qualities”
We have conducted workshops to deal with industry pressures and be a leader for your judgments. We aim to disseminate and educate our students about mental health and give it a priority. We are recently running a campaign called SPEAK OUT, asking students to reach out to us if they feel a bit overwhelmed and uncomfortable regarding their jobs/internships/or academics. Also, to mention our curriculum is designed by the industry veterans & experts, evolving the students with continuous knowledge transferring sessions helps them survive such a compelling cut-throat competition.
