IIMA Establishes Kamla Chowdhry Communications Hub in Honour of Its First Faculty Member

New Delhi: The Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad (IIMA) has announced the establishment of the Kamla Chowdhry Communications Hub in honour of its founding professor, Professor Kamla Chowdhry, and her extraordinary contribution to the development and prosperity of IIMA on the occasion of Teacher's Day.

IIMA Establishes Kamla Chowdhry Communications Hub in Honour of Its First Faculty Member

Professor Kamla Chowdhry was the first faculty member of IIMA , who was a renowned academician. She was the first faculty nominee selected to the IIMA Board and a member of the IIMA Society in 1962.

Being an excellent teacher, Kamla created the ground-breaking 3TP Senior Management Development Program, which gave the IIMA an advantage in executive education.

According to the IIMA statement, the Kamla Chowdhry Communications Hub will be crucial in enhancing IIMA's position as a leader in management education and research and in advancing the IIMA brand through a variety of communication and marketing initiatives.

The Communications Hub will operate as a single entity that meets the needs of the Institute and all of its internal and external stakeholders.

One of the major priorities of the IIMA hub will be to enhance the IIMA brand significantly on a global scale. Its mandate calls for bringing in cutting-edge concepts and best practices to help the Institute influence, engage, and communicate in the rapidly evolving digital world.

This new hub was launched due to the donation by IIM-A alumni Roopa and Vivek Kudva.

The proud alumni of the institute stated that they are privileged to support the hub and naming the hub after Professor Chowdhry is an opportunity to recognise and honour her seminal and foundational contributions to the Institute.

Expressing his delight to introduce Kamla Chowdhry Communications Hub, IIMA Director Professor Errol D' Souza stated that the communication hub will be an ambitious project that is fittingly named in Professor Kamla Chowdhry's honour.

He added that Professor Chowdhry was a trailblazing management educator and institution builder. Without the assistance of Roopa and Vivek Kudva, who worked closely with the institute to create an exceptional and visionary idea that would enable an important goal of spreading the IIMA brand globally.
