New Changes in SAT, ACT Score Policies in University of California, MIT: Read More Here

As of now, Massachusetts Institute of Technology has decided to restate its score reporting requirements. While other universities such as the University of California are still discussing whether they should extend the test-optional policies or delay the process entirely.

Earlier, the University of California has released its decision to waive SAT and CAT scores entirely from the education policy. With this, the university is now working on making a new standardized test that will replace earlier test score requirements.

Following the new test, the requirements for standardized scores will be phased out till 2024. In case the replacement metric fails to meet the satisfactory result, the university might eliminate the standardized testing altogether.

As of now, students who wish to take part in scholarship selection at the University of California are required to take standardized tests, such as SAT and ACT. Based on students' scores, they're further selected for various scholarship schemes.

Discussing standardized testing, the University of California has stated that these testing methods are in need of changes as they do not offer any fair chance to those students who come from less privileged backgrounds.

With the initiative of developing a new standardized test, the University of California aims to offer fair options and education facilities to all students.

On the other hand, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology will include the requirement of standardized test scores for next year’s applicants. The requirement of test scores was earlier canceled due to the SAT and ACT exams cancellation.

As for those students, who wish to seek admission to the Georgia Institute of Technology, they will also have to appear for qualifying tests, such as SAT and ACT for the admission selection. Other colleges are still discussing the final take on exam score requirements.
