New Delhi: XLRI Jamshedpur and SPJIMR have achieved the highest level (Level 5) rating in the Positive Impact Rating(PIR) for Business Schools Report 2022.
On June 13, 2022, the PIR Rating Report 2022 was launched at UN PRME Global Forum. This is the third edition of the rating.
XLRI Jamshedpur and SPJIMR have secured positions among the four business schools to achieve the highest level 5 rating as ‘pioneering schools’. XLRI has earlier been featured in the list of the top Global Business Schools in the first two editions of Positive Impact Rating.
SPJIMR is also one of the four management schools across 21 participating countries awarded the highest “pioneering school” rating. SPJIMR was recognized for its innovative community-based actions, environmental and socially responsible culture and governance, and a strong teaching focus on responsible leadership. This is the second successive year that SPJIMR has received this recognition.
PIR Rating 2022 asks students 20 questions in seven relevant impact dimensions: governance and culture of the school; study programs, learning methods, and student support; the institution as a role model and its public engagement. The overall PIR score of the business school is used to position the schools across five levels. The different levels refer to the levels of achievement in developing the social impact. Business schools are provided with a defined social impact model and a tool that they can use for measuring their impact.
Father Paul Fernandes, the director said, “At XLRI, we always value our students’ efforts and contributions towards making a sustainable future for the greater good of humanity. We were delighted when in 2021, XLRI was awarded the highest PIR rating i.e., Level 5 and once again in the 3rd edition of The PIR 2022 we achieved the highest level as a Pioneering School. Our students have a fine vision of making the planet a better place for all and can engage even for global action.”
Sophie Charrois, president of Oikos International and PIR Supervisory Board member, said: “We need to prepare students with competencies that empower them to impact business, society, and the planet positively. Separating economics from societal or environmental value creation is no longer acceptable. Managing a business as an isolated entity from its impact on society is becoming a thing of the past.”
