Shailesh J Mehta School of Management (SJMSOM) has announced plans to conduct its executive MBA programme out of the IIT Bombay campus.
Launched in 2015, the executive MBA programme of SJMSOM was initially conducted from a hotel. The eMBA confers degrees from an Indian and American University.
The eMBA programme consists of 17 residency teaching modules in India and three modules in Washington University, DC, in St. Louis and this year, the institute recorded 30 acceptance.
Mehta, an alumnus of IIT Bombay, and his wife, Kalpa Mehta inaugurated the executive education complex on the fourth floor of SJMSOM at the Indian Institute of Technology, (IIT) Bombay.
During the inauguration, Mehta said that the land of 400-acre is going to produce global leaders in the upcoming years. The best of talents and research will be born from this institute.
Earlier, the husband-wife duo contributed to establish a school in 1998 and this time, they've contributed the grant to construct the eMBA floor.
Further, there have been plans to increase the intake of students capacity and attract the top-notch faculty for the B-school. The world-class Executive Education Complex at IIT Bombay has been designed specifically to conduct the joint eMBA programme offered by SJMSOM, IIT Bombay.
The Education complex is well-equipped with state-of-the-art infrastructure, breakout rooms, lounges, faculty room, conference room, climate-controlled classroom, and multimedia facilities to enhance the student's learning atmosphere.
The eMBA programme of SJMSOM is India’s first and the only joint EMBA degree programme specifically designed for working professionals and entrepreneurs.

Who is eligible for the eMBA programme?
In order to get admitted to the eMBA programme, the candidate must have a bachelor's degree or equivalent from an institution of higher education with a minimum seven years of work experience (post qualification) including five years of managerial experience or equivalent.
Additionally, the candidate must be recommended by their current employer with a commitment of employer sponsorship, or self-employed with an ability to pay the applicable tuition fees. They must have functional computer skills and good proficiency in spoken and written English.
