There are a total of four hostels allotted for the institute. A single room is given for each student, and each section is divided into H-7, H-8, H-9, and H-10 for the BTech students. Among them, H-10 is newly constructed, allotted for second-year students, and has all the facilities, including the water cooler, internet facility, and so on. The other hostels have poor facilities and are not properly maintained. You can also switch to H-10 with the permission of the authorities.

NIT KKR has a great coding culture. One of my cousins was in a similar dilemma last year when she had to choose between PEC and NIT Kurukshetra. Both the colleges are premier engineering colleges offering excellent education and are head-to-head in most factors. However, you may want to consider the following points before making the final decision
- In terms of placements and the faculty pool, PEC fares better than NIT Kurukshetra.
- Established in 1928, PEC has a richer legacy than NIT Kurukshetra which was established around 1963.
- NIT Kurukshetra has a bigger and more beautiful campus than PEC.
- NIT Kurukshetra offers the much coveted NIT tag which PEC does not.
The final decision depends on personal factors like location and future prospects. If you are from Chandigarh choosing PEC will be better.
Which is better, NIT Kurukshetra for EEE or BITS Pilani Goa for a dual degree?
I have few friends from both NIT Kurukshetra and BITS Pilani, so I think I can answer the question. First, I would like to clarify that NIT Kurukshetra does not offer EEE, it offers EE. These two branches are quite different.
- Based on the reviews I got from my friends, I will say that both NIT K and BITS Goa are quite good. But BITS Goa is comparatively better in terms of infrastructure and placements. According to the placement reports, the average CTC offered at BITS Goa is 5 LPA.
- If you have the option to go for the dual degree in Electrical at BITS Goa then go for it, provided you don’t have a problem with the hefty course fee. BITS Goa will offer better exposure and opportunities.
- The faculty of BITS Goa is also better than that of NIT K.
- BITS and NIT have similar brand values.
The only advantage of NIT K is the low course fee. So, given the option choose BITS Goa.
