It is great that you are thinking of pursuing IPM being in class 11. You have enough time. You can think of starting with Pearson’s IPM entrance guide. Figure out if you can solve the questions or not. If required, join online coaching classes like CareerAnna.

  • Develop the habit of reading. Start with novels that you might like in your preferred genre and move on to articles from the Indian Express or The Hindu.
  • Expand your knowledge and vocabulary.
  • Attempt one mock at least per month and one every week after your 12th grade. Analyze your mistakes and work on them.
  • Practice writing essays for WAT. You might be asked to write on random topics so ensure that you can write creatively within 20 minutes.
  • You can look at the previous topics asked in the examination which might help you.
  • In the interview round, prepare for current affairs and things you did in your 12th grade. GK and current affairs are essential for your preparation.
  • You can revise your academics, general HR questions and talk about your hobbies a week or two before your interview.
  • Ensure that your hobby stands out. Be thorough about it.
  • You need to set yourself apart from others for the college to see what is the unique thing that you can bring to the table.

Finally, be consistent in your work and start building your resume right away. Back your hobby with certificates, participate in competitions, and any other significant achievements you may have made along the way. Volunteer at a local NGO since social work is highly appreciated on your CV.

Which one is better after 12th commerce, doing IPM IIM Indore or doing Chartered Accountant?

SL

Chartered Accountants and IPM from IIM Indore are not comparable because of their vastly different natures. You are advised to move toward the area of interest over here. IPM aims to develop each student holistically by helping him learn and excel in a variety of areas. Your presentation abilities improve, and your overall development is boosted. It has several different domains as its primary focus.

A CA, on the other hand, is deeply involved in the accounting industry. To be clear, it's a correspondence course. After studying, you take your exams, then write your articles. Your course of action in this will determine only your personality development and presentation skills.

You should choose between these two based on your area of interest.

How much should I score in IPM to ensure my admission to IIM Indore? Can any selected student of IPM share his/her aptitude test score?

The choice of questions attempted is critical in IPMAT, and students should aim for an overall attempt of 60-70% with 80% accuracy to secure a good score.

  • For the Quantitative Ability (QA) MCQ section, I recommend attempting 60% of the questions with 70-80% accuracy, while for the QA Short Answer (SA) section, attempting 60% of the questions with 9-10 correct answers can lead to a good score.
  • For the Verbal Ability (VA) section, attempting around 35-38 questions with 85% accuracy can lead to a good score. Students should analyze their strengths and weaknesses and attempt questions accordingly.

There is no fixed score for admission to IIM Indore through IPMAT, but attempting a good number of questions with high accuracy can help students secure a good score.

Is it better to go for DU BMS instead of IPM of IIM Indore

AB
Akriti Banerjee Posted On : June 3rd, 2023
lives in New Delhi

Since you’ve not given any context to the question, the answer in any normal circumstance would be yes. Let’s understand why spending more than 5 lacs on an IPM degree is not worth your time and effort.

  • Fee: BMS DU charges around 50,000 for the entire course where IPM fee is unnecessarily high just because of the IIM tag. I am not saying that there will not be any difference between the curriculum but the difference is not worth the money you’re paying.
  • Syllabus: Although IIMs are known for their pedagogy and surely you’ll get professors who will change the way you see a subject. This kind of exposure at such an early stage of your life will widen the possibilities but if we talk about the syllabus of a BBA degree and that of a BMS degree, the difference is pretty evident.

BMS is a slightly analytical degree that would give you an edge over students pursuing BBA or BCOM. I have seen BMS students acing CAT after basic preparation cause of their good grasp on logical reasoning. It’s a given fact that an average BMS students is more likely to score well in CAT than an average BBA/BCOM student.

Which is the best coaching for IPM IIM Indore in Lucknow City?

KA
Kajal Agrawal Posted On : January 16th, 2023
IIM Lucknow

Only someone from an IIM can provide you with better insight, and Educate Next's founders are from IIM Rohtak and FMS Delhi. Educate Next is, in my opinion, the best IPM - IIM coaching (Indore and Rohtak). The curriculum is written by the Directors themselves, and they provide full curriculum details to students when they enroll, making it clear how the approach will be. The best Personality Development and Verbal Ability classes in town.

Another critical point is that the batch size is too small, with a maximum of 20 students. This is extremely beneficial. It is also the most affordable in terms of fees for the quality provided. IMS is also good, but they charge nearly triple the price for the same quality.

AS
Ameya Sanyal Posted On : May 10th, 2023

To get into IIM Indore for the IPM course, one has to clear IPMAT, and assuming you cleared it. If you cleared the IPMAT test and got into IIM Indore, you won’t have any trouble surviving on campus because they filter out and take only the deserving ones, so, don’t feel low, and be confident about your abilities. Although, Maths is important in the IPM curriculum, as it has a wide-ranging correlation to some of the other subjects such as Economics and Statistics, so, you just need to be good in arithmetic and maths which is in the R S Agrawal.

Having known some friends who graduated from IIM Indore, I would literally like to suggest you go for this program even if it sounds intense.

  • It not only gives you deep exposure but also, you get a lot to learn being on the same campus for the subsequent 5 years.
  • This is definitely one of the best choices to make. Even if you belong to the science stream.
  • Almost 80 percent of the students of the first batch of IPM belonged to the science stream.
  • It gives a complete holistic development and serves as a great platform to begin a professional career.
  • The placements of the batch have been really good too.
  • The program was split into 3 years and 2 years with fees of 3 LPA for the first three years and 13 Lacs for the next two years.
  • Most of the faculties are visiting which makes it more apt to join.
  • Overall the course curriculum and facilities are very good. Recently, a huge rise in the number of applicants was also witnessed.

What is the written composition in the process of getting selected in IPM IIM Indore?

DT
Darryl Thomas Posted On : June 26th, 2023
Studied at Indian Institute of Management Indore

The IPM (Integrated Programme in Management) selection process for IIM Indore includes a new component called the Written Aptitude Test (WAT). This component carries a weightage of 15% in the overall selection process.

The WAT tests candidates' English language skills and their ability to communicate. Language proficiency is vital, but it won't decide WAT's success.

It is important to ensure that whatever is written is grammatically correct as basic grammatical errors can harm the overall score. However, the focus should not be on using difficult or fancy English words. Instead, it is better to express oneself in the simplest way possible.

Candidates should avoid beating around the bush if they run out of ideas as this would result in negative points. It is recommended to pause and relate to the topic as this would help to develop better ideas to support the point of view.

Lastly, it is important to stick to the word limit provided for the WAT. The candidate should ensure that they do not exceed the word limit as this could lead to negative marking.

WAT component of the IPM selection process is designed to evaluate the candidate's ability to communicate effectively and not just their proficiency in the English language. Candidates should focus on expressing themselves in a clear and concise manner, avoiding basic grammatical errors, and sticking to the word limit provided.

How is the IPM program of IIM Indore? Should I take admission in IPM?

AM
Anumita Mukharjee Posted On : May 8th, 2023
Studies at Indian Institute of Management Indore

IPM program is a really good option for students after school. If you convert it, you should then definitely join IIM Indore. The IPM program's goodness is explained in the following points.

  • IPM has a diverse and vast curriculum. You'll get to learn things that will not only help you in school but also make you a better person. Maths, statistics, and economics are the most important topics, and they are taught in depth every term. Aside from that, it offers classes in everything from computer languages to performing arts and foreign languages as electives.
  • It lets you study at an IIM right after you finish 12th grade. No matter how much people say that your talent and passion are more important than the college you went to, an IIM tag is still.
  • Even though the course is hard academically, there are a lot of extracurricular and co-curricular things to try. The only undergrad party that any IIM puts on is run by IPM students"Atharv". The IPM group also puts on a sports festival once a year. Aside from that, we have regular debates, quizzes, writing competitions, and fun events that make sure we don't miss out on the best parts of college life.
  • When it comes to sports, IPMers have been very busy. There are a lot of events for both boys and girls that happen often. The school has great sports facilities, such as a swimming pool the size of an Olympic pool, well-kept tennis, badminton, basketball, and cricket stadiums, to name a few.
  • After the first three years, the IPM Batch and the new PGP Batch are put together. After that, all of the classes and placements are taken care of by a group. So, you get to go into the business and compete with people who went to IITs and NITs.

I got selected for admission in the IPM programme by the IIM Indore. How is the programme beneficial for us, as compared to the CAT students?

FR
Falguni Roy Posted On : August 28th, 2021
Studied at the Indian Institute of Management Indore

In the last two years of IPM students get the same opportunity as compared to the CAT students.

IPM encompasses a range of subjects spanning the disciplines of Science, Humanities, and Commerce. It's a hand-picked mix of some of the most useful subjects in these disciplines which will ultimately shape you into being a good manager.

The course also includes subjects on physical training and mental agility. It is a well-rounded course with a lot of depth vis-a-vis a routine MBA.

As far as the placements are concerned, many top-notch companies don’t allow IPM students to apply. Most of the IPM students join start-ups.

In the coming years, companies will be more inclusive during placements. This can be validated by comparing the placement of IPM students in successive years.
