What do I prepare for SIBM, SCMHRD interviews?

RS
Rupali Samal Posted On : June 2nd, 2023

You can never guess what the interviewer will ask in the interview, no matter how well-read you’re and how comfortable you are with talking about the current happenings. Still, it always helps boost your confidence and gives you a chance to take the conversation in any direction you want.

  • Start with the basics and read your resume 10 times a day before your interview; prepare 3-4 lines on every keyword mentioned in your resume.
  • Be aware of the news that aligns with your interest in any manner according to your resume. For example, if you have work experience and left the company last year, just check if it’s on the news or has undergone any major changes after your exit.
  • Always have a few good achievements examples ready to back your stories up.

Remember, you don’t need to know everything you’re asked, it certainly helps if you know everything but trust me the panel is observing your approach towards a particular question. So all the best!!

The initial way for any candidate to crack IBPS SO exam (IT Officer) even in one month's time is sufficient practice in Online mock tests and have strong basics in English, Quant and reasoning. You don't need to read a number of books, but need to focus on your strength and clear as many online tests as possible.

You’ll get maximum questions from DBMS & Data Communication topic, so focus on this area more and try to score maximum marks in this particular section. Even a good score in English will help you grab a good overall score. There are 4 different parts (GS, English, Reasoning, Maths/DI) and you need to score good in all these sections as the cut off score for every section is different.

The professional section of IBPS SO paper includes Data Base Management System,Data Communication & Networking, Computer Organization & Structure, Data Structure & Compiler Design, Operating systems, Software Engineering, Internet Awareness.

How hard did you prepare for the AFMC Pune? What were your struggles? Did you get it?

AG
Akriti Gupta Posted On : September 22nd, 2023
lives in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India

One of my friends recently got admission in AFMC Pune and surprisingly enough she claims that she never prepared for her college purposely. In fact, it was only after clearing the cutoff for screening that she decided to actually consider getting admission. The only trick that helped her was that she focused only on preparing for NEET initially and did not worry about the screening. The trust is, that the screening process is rather unpredictable and not much can be prepared in a short span of time. So it’s better to invest your efforts and energy in something that is completely in your control. Once you clear NEET, you can start preparing for screening also.

Hope this helps you!

How do I prepare for non-tech companies coming for placements in NSIT?

Namrata Das Posted On : August 23rd, 2023

Here are some important tips that you can follow to get placed in a good non-tech company during the NSUT Delhi placements-

  1. Good companies start visiting the campus in the last week of July. So don’t procrastinate on making your resume. Every company seeks qualities in a resume. Like, Finance companies focus on your academics and any related course, while Consulting companies appreciate case studies/MUNs in your resume. Keep an updated resume. In case you are short on material, mention any prizes, competitions, or olympiads. Do mention some social work you did as that will add ‘stars’ to your resume.
  2. The first round comprises MCQs to test your logical reasoning and quantitative aptitude. Companies like Axtria also test your verbal ability (grammar and critical reasoning specifically), and a bit of coding knowledge. Practice these questions from a CAT preparation book/ modules from a good MBA coaching institute. Choose a book according to your comfort- from basic to advanced. Practice a few sets of verbal and logical reasoning questions daily. You can learn coding basics from ‘Test your C skills’ and ‘Let us C’. Data Analytics companies like Axtria also ask a little about DBMS, SQL, and OOPS concepts. Study them from C++ by Sumita Arora class 12th or online.
  3. Consulting companies then focus on how you deal with cases and guess estimates. Read/Practice these from ‘Case in Point’, ‘Ace the Case’

and ‘Wharton guide’. For puzzles and brainteasers, read the book ‘Acing the Brainteaser Interview’. Indiabix is a good source for puzzles, quantitative and logical aptitude.

  1. Practice common HR interview questions.
  2. Research well about your target company, and listen carefully during the company’s presentation, and ask smart questions during the company’s

presentation or interview.

Try to remain calm and composed. You will get selected by a good company during the NSUT Delhi placements. But if things don’t go as planned, remember that everything gets better eventually.

Could you please give some tips to score more than 400+ in BITSAT?

AS
Arnav Singh Posted On : January 16th, 2021
B.E. Electrical and Electronics Engineering, BITS Pilani, K. K. Birla Goa Campus (2022)

The BITSAT exam requires clear concepts and good time management. People may advise you that if you prepare well for JEE Main and JEE Advanced, you will be prepared for BITSAT. This is not entirely true. You may have a clear concept about the subjects once you prepare well for JEE Mains and Advanced but that does not mean you will be able to score 400+

Given below are a few tips which you can follow to score well.

  • For Chemistry, you should prepare from NCERT books thoroughly. This subject determines the ultimate score of this entrance exam. NCERT books are enough for Chemistry preparation. BITS is known to ask questions from NCERT books.
  • Maths and physics are entirely conceptual and you need a positive grip on both of these subjects to do well in the exam. For Physics, the Universe chapter is important in this regard. You can follow the Arihant books for the chapter.
  • After making a subject-based study, you should do practice questions with proper time management for each section. Arihant’s BITSAT book is best for chapter-wise preparation. Also, try to solve the previous year’s questions.
  • Give regular mocks and try to solve the paper within 3 hours. Further, try reducing the time you need to answer all the questions without making any mistakes.
  • Arihant’s practice series can be a bit difficult. You can opt for the embibe test series.
  • You can’t learn English and logic in just a year. To get an idea about the questions asked in the examination, you can follow the Arihant books.

The score of this exam depends on accuracy, conceptual clarity, and speed. So, try to prepare for the same with proper practice.
