As a student of NIT Jamshedpur, I can tell you of some of its benefits which you might not get in some other NIT(s).
NIT Jamshedpur is a good institute which offers a unique experience. You should check out all the details about it .
There is no specific rule regarding formal wear at NIT Jamshedpur. However, it is generally considered appropriate to dress in a professional manner, especially when attending classes or meetings with faculty members. Jeans and other casual clothing may be worn on campus. One of my friends there told me that this rule is just declared by the seniors who want to harass the juniors in some way as there aren't any official notices or announcements regarding that.
A senior of mine from school used to be a student of NIT Jamshedpur. She has said that the first-year students are given the mega hostel. It is the best building of NIT Jamshedpur. My senior was so comfortable in her hostel that she often used to skip classes to stay indoors.
There are drawbacks too as listed below:
My senior found her hostel very comfortable while she was a student there.
From the second year onwards, you will be allotted single rooms, unlike the first year.
I have many friends who graduated from NIT Jamshedpur and they told me about the life lessons they learned the hard way at NIT Jamshedpur but were utterly grateful. Most of them claimed that the institute changed them as a whole. People who were earlier shy and introverted became confident and started socializing well. People who were earlier shy and introverted became confident and started socializing well.
Here are a few important life lessons people seem to have learned at NIT Jamshedpur, in general,
Hope NIT Jamshedpur brings out the best in you too and helps you achieve your future endeavors!
Since you are enquiring about the same branch at two different institutes, it's best to look at the overall rankings first.
The rankings place NIT Jamshedpur higher than NIT Hamirpur. These rankings are based on various factors like academics, research facilities, placements, etc. I had a friend at NIT Hamirpur who claimed that the research culture there is pathetic and the college administration is not supportive at all.
PLaxements-wise, the scenario is similar everywhere as Civil has the least job opportunities. You might check the cutoffs to get an idea of the credibility of the specific branch. Here is a brief comparison of the civil branches of both institutes

You might want to talk to alumni and conduct more detailed research before choosing your college!
One of my friends completed his BTech in civil engineering from NIT Jamshedpur recently. He also cleared the ESE in the final year by preparing for the 2nd year. All he did was devote around 5–6 hours a day for the next two years daily.
Here also mentored the following tips:
Hope the above tips will help you clear IES!
It’s not likely possible to get a 30+ LPA package at NIT Jamshedpur or in fact any IIT. So if you have such a high goal, you can go for an offshore offer, which can go even up to 75+ LPA depending on where you get the job. Here are some ways to opt for an offshore offer
So what’s stopping you from getting a 30+ LPA package at NIT Jamshedpur?
One of my friends chose ProductionCivil and Metallurgy at NIT Jamshedpur. Honestly, the preference may vary from person to person depending on their career prospects and inclinations. However, I can certainly guide you to decide the right one
So the preference order in my opinion is Production>Metallurgy>Civil. Ultimately it’s your own preferences that will determine the choice.
NIT JALANDHAR CSE should be prioritized over NIT JAMSHEDPUR CSE and NIT PATNA CSE. If you look at their placement, you'll see that there isn't much of a difference between these colleges when it comes to this branch. All you need is good infrastructure and a welcoming atmosphere; otherwise, sooner or later you will find yourself regretting your choice somewhere on campus. When discussing the infrastructure of these colleges, you must consider their NIRF ranking.
To be honest, NIT Patna's campus and facilities are fairly mediocre and unsatisfactory. Then there's NIT Jamshedpur, which is right next door. It, too, needs to improve significantly. However, because it is located in an industrial area, it attracts a large number of students who study Electrical, Mechanical, and other related fields.
Well, both the colleges are in different states and both have their own set of reports, some good some bad. Though from an infrastructure point of view, NIT Jamshedpur is small and cozy whereas NIT Durgapur is quite beautiful and flourished in about 187 acres of land.
Similarly, it goes for NIT Jamshedpur.
Both the campus have good campus life and environment. But better contact someone who studies there and judge the authenticity and then choose between the two and definitely consider placement, faculty, and research before opting for either of them. The campus life at NIT Jamshedpur is quite good and you are not going to regret joining this institute.
