Firstly, if you haven’t been able to get into Lovely Professional University, don’t get discouraged. Getting into IIMs is also a privilege. You can land decent jobs even as an IIM graduate. So just settle for the best IIM and achieve your goals.
But if you still think with one more chance you can ace the entrance exam of LPU, then take a dropout year and prepare well for it. It will be a year full of struggles but you will have to deal with it with the right spirit. Who knows you might actually get into LPA this time and fulfill your dream.
If you are willing to pursue B.Tech. (CSE) and are confused between LPU and UPTU, then you need to go through the pros and cons of both to make a better understanding.
Uttar Pradesh Technical University:
Pros-
Extremely affordable. It's a government university so the only relaxation is fees.
Better placement opportunities
Cons-
Education tactics adopted are old school.
The structure of exams is below average
Bad internet facilities
The compulsory attendance rules do not let you conduct research.
Lovely Professional University:
Pros-
A large-scale advertisement which is not of much use to an engineer
Extensive international collaborations
Placements in Google, Facebook, Yahoo, and Microsoft
Cons-
Lack of proper study material and timely educational help
Placements are usually off-campus. This means they are dependent on your hard work and not on the university.
Both universities fail to provide a very good education and have a lot of shortcomings. Choose LPU or UPTU only if you have no other option. Of the two, UPTU is still a better option because of its low fees and better education strategies.
You can book the residential facilities at LPU by making an initial deposit of INR 10000/- and the mess facility with a deposit of INR 5000/-. You have to make the deposit before the joining date or the reporting date to the university residence.
If you book the hostel accommodation beforehand and aren’t able to join later because of COVID-19, the amount deposited will be returned to you after deducting the processing fees, i.e. 1000/-.
Some of the famous alumni of LPU are:
