My friend recently gave his MTech interview at IIT Patna and aced it. The entire process lasted for 46 minutes. His interview was conducted by a panel of 6 members.
The panelists welcomes him and after the introduction, they went through his BTech mark sheet to see the branch and subjects he had graduated with. The interview soon began and they probed him with basic questions related to mathematics, SOM, and 12th-class physics. They even asked him to explain some answers in detail on the whiteboard.
Overall, they were very satisfied with his answers and he managed to get selected!
There is no fixed pattern for the interview conducted by CMC Vellore in the last stage of the admission process. Usually, the shortlisted candidates are categorized into groups of 5 or 6, Boys and Girls, separately. There are 2 group observers for each group, called G.O. Students have to go through a number of individual tasks, group tasks, group discussions, and multiple interviews with their group observers.
Hope you make it to CMC Vellore, one of the best medical colleges in India.
My elder brother used to be a student of XLRI and he had to come across some tricky, if not weird questions.
Interviews in B-schools can sometimes be non-standardized and are often reactive of the experiences of the interviewee(s). My brother cannot say if the testing is deliberately non-standardized, whether responses are calibrated or normalized, or if the professors test the reliability. A lot of people who made it past the personal interview ended up joining the IIMs and vice-versa.

During the WAT, his laptop crashed yet he managed to complete the topic in the last 7 minutes. Group Interview 1 consisted of 2 panelists, a male, and a female, and 4 applicants, including 2 Operations, 1 Finance, and 1 Marketing where he was questioned about his job role, the supply chain system, his competitors in the industry, and his biggest challenge during Covid-19. The female panelist asked about the importance of inventory management and establishing a plant in the city.
In Group Interview 2, the panelists were 1 male and 1 female, and the applicants included 1 Operation, 1 IM, 1 Finance, and 1 Marketing where he was asked about courage vs. foolishness, what his parents don't like about him, and how he would handle a situation where someone asks for an under-the-table commission.
Ultimately, he cleared both group interviews and was converted. He says that success in MBA interviews is not just about knowledge, but also about staying calm in unprecedented situations and showcasing your problem-solving skills.
