I don’t think placement statistics of one year are enough to judge the credibility and worth of an institute. It’s better to observe placement trends over the past few years to get a better understanding of the placement scenario.
My brother was a student at IIT Hyderabad till 2020 so I can give you information regarding the placement trends of the preceding years.
IIT Hyderabad M.tech Chemical Engineering placement trends 2018.2019 and 2020
2018: Only 4 students got placed from the entire batch.
2019
Out of 15 total students,
2020: 2 core companies registered for the second phase of the placements meanwhile a couple of students got placed in non-core companies.
From the above trends, we can say that job opportunities have been improving over the past few years despite the lockdown situation. The number of companies is expected to increase in the coming years with better placement opportunities.
In terms of academics both self-sponsored MTech at IIT Hyderabad and regular MTech at IIT Hyderabad are similar. The number of credits required to be completed is equal in both programs.
Additionally, students of both programs are eligible for placements and no discrimination is done between the students of regular and self-sponsored MTech.
Here are some of the facts given by one of my friends who studied MTech at NIT Jamshedpur.
The environment of students is good. Co-curricular and extracurricular activities are present. The batch size is small. In a nutshell, it can be stated that NIT Jamshedpur is average for MTech.
There is a lot of scope and future after getting an MTech in Aerospace Engineering from IIT Bombay. If you're interested in pursuing Aerospace Engineering, you should know that IIT Bombay is the best institute in India for this field.
One of the best things about IIT Bombay is the flexibility it offers to students when it comes to choosing their course subjects. You can choose subjects that align with your interests, and only the core subjects are compulsory. This is beneficial for job opportunities since companies look at the subjects you've studied during your academic tenure.
Regarding Aerospace Structure, the subjects offered in this specialization are quite similar to the machine design stream of the mechanical engineering department. The curriculum also includes state-of-the-art subjects related to composite materials. All the professors in this field are renowned experts in their respective areas.
While only a few aerospace companies come for recruitment, students with a clear understanding of the subjects studied in Aerospace Engineering from IIT Bombay can easily secure jobs in both core and non-core industries.
Apart from job opportunities, you can also opt for research work or pursue a Ph.D. in IITB itself or universities abroad. So, if you want to pursue Aerospace Engineering and build a strong foundation for your future, IIT Bombay is the perfect place for you.
Both the Electrical and Electronics Engineering (EEE) program at IT Hyderabad and the Mechanical Engineering program at IIT Madras are highly esteemed and have strengths and weaknesses. Eventually, it depends on your interests and career goals.
You should go for IIT Hyderabad, EEE if

NIT Trichy has great placements for branches like CSE and ECE. Most of the recruiting companies give preference to B.Tech students rather than M.Tech. But as far as Communications Engineering is concerned, you will be allowed to appear for placement drives held by semiconductor companies with B.Tech students.
There are quite a few companies that prefer Communications students over VLSI. Many students end up being placed in dream semiconductor companies. Out of say, 35 students, only 1 or 2 are not placed. The placements are definitely improving over the years.
It is advisable to have basic coding knowledge at least along with your core subject. That way, you will definitely be able to do well.
You must submit a certificate as proof of 60% marks (55% for SC/ST) in qualifying degrees, or else you will not be eligible for admission to M.Tech in Biomedical Engineering.
