Google pays a visit to the campus and offers two positions. It's either Product Management (PM) or Marketing. However, both positions may not be available every year. It is determined by the state of the economy, the requirements, and the campus-Google relationship. The project manager position is more desirable than the marketing position.
This year, it hired from IIM C for positions such as industry manager, account manager, and account strategist. Infosys' international positions are for its client-servicing group. All of these candidates will be based in the United States or London. GE Capital and Baring Private Equity are two other recruiters.
Apart from IIM Bangalore, one university with a noteworthy MBA program is Chandigarh University. It also enjoys good rankings from outside organizations. CU Ranks #2 among the Top Private Universities in India under QS Asia Rankings 2023. The placement drives conducted here are excellent. The university itself prepares the students for placement. Admissions are based on applications received through the Common Admission Test (CAT), which is held in November each year at various locations across India by the Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs). Short-listed candidates must take a written test and a personal interview, as well as provide three Letters of Reference from people who are familiar with their academic or professional performance.
The final decision is depended on CAT performance, Scholastic Achievement, Work Experience, Writing Ability Test performance, and an interview.
IIM Bangalore follows a rigorous academic program, and students are expected to maintain high academic standards throughout their course. However, the institute does not have a fixed limit on the number of D and F grades a student can have to graduate.
To pass the first year, students need to meet certain requirements set by the institute. According to the academic policy of IIM Bangalore, a student needs to maintain a minimum CGPA of 2.0 out of 4.0 to pass each term. Additionally, a student should not have more than one F grade in the first year to be eligible to continue the course.
It is also important to note that students are expected to maintain high academic standards throughout the course, and the institute has stringent requirements for the continuation of studies in subsequent terms. Students who do not meet the academic requirements may face academic probation or termination of studies.
IIM Ahmedabad - AGMP and IIM Bangalore - EGMP are both excellent programs, better than IIM Calcutta - EPBM. Both classes are held twice a week. Classes were held online during the pandemic. If you are currently employed, both programs will help you advance in your current position.
The one-year AGMP program at IIM Ahmedabad is specifically designed to provide working professionals with general management skills in a global business environment. Jaro Education's classes are delivered using the synchronous Learning Technology platform.
The EGMP at IIM Bangalore brings together participants with a wide range of backgrounds, skills, and experiences, allowing for peer learning. Choosing a B-school can be a tricky decision especially when it comes to ROI. I understand that ROI is one of the most important factors when it comes to MBA courses since funding your education with loans come with its own set of challenges. But the institutes that you have mentioned above certainly surpass the challenges since they belong to the tier 1 category.
You might come across articles and blogs stating that FMS or JBIMS do not provide a typical MBA environment but for me, that discussion does not even make sense. What is an MBA environment after all? You spent 2 years of your life at the campus and wish to land a good job. FMS, JBIMS, and IIT Bombay all three have good market reputations, they home the best candidates and charge minimal fees. So, if ROI is even a little bit of a concern for you, go for these colleges without any second thought or regret.

It is not a wise decision to waste another year preparing for IIM Allahabad or Bangalore because the profiles of students in the top 10 colleges in India are very similar. It is better to have a strong profile and work one's way up to the top management roles in the industry.
It is more important to focus on your profile and career growth rather than the college's brand value. It is not worth risking another year to secure admission to a particular college, especially when there is no guarantee of success.
You can get into a top 30 college and do decently, but I know of people from non-IIM colleges who are in top management roles in investment banking and top tech companies. Your success is not solely determined by the college's brand value.
You should not waste time and energy chasing a college's brand value and it is essential to focus on building a good profile and working towards one's career goals. An example is Indra Nooyi, who came from XLRI, which emphasizes that success is not determined by the college's brand value.
