Which is better ICE at Nit Trichy or bits Goa msc mathematics?

AC
Anita Chakroborty Posted On : August 24th, 2021
Studies Mechanical Engineering at BITS Goa

I have friends pursuing courses you mentioned above at either institute. Based on the discussion I have with them, here is what should be best for you,

  1. The institutes can be considered quite equivalent to one another, but BITS Goa has an upper hand.
  2. M.Sc at BITS Goa can be specialized following the first year, during which you will be allocated a B.E course depending upon your CGPA.
  3. With a 6 CGPA, you can get Mechanical Engineering, which is quite an easy job. In contrast, it is better than ICE.
  4. However, if your scores are high enough then you might get a seat in CSE.
  5. By the end of 5 years, you will be receiving a B.E and an M.Sc degree, which is nonetheless a smarter choice.

However, the fees at BITS Goa are quite a lot.

How is the placement of EEE at MAIT?

GS
Gargi Srivastav Posted On : June 23rd, 2021
B.Tech from Maharaja Agrasen Institute of Technology (2018)

The placement for Electrical and Electronics Engineering at MAIT is almost similar to that of other mediocre colleges in India. I have some friends at MAIT and here is some information that I gathered from them. m

  • For students in Electrical and Electronics Engineering, quite a less number of core electrical or electronic companies visit the campus for placement.
  • Most of the students in the EEE branch are placed in service-based IT companies only, as like most other private engineering colleges of the same tier. Accenture and Infosys are two mass recruiters in the institute for these circuital branches.
  • There are some companies who recruit specific technical students from specific branches only like mechanical, civil, etc. They usually don’t allow students from EEE to sit for their recruitment drives.
  • The faculty is MAIT is decent and helpful. So, if you are genuinely interested in the subject of electrical and electronics then you can opt for the degree. But, placements are not that satisfactory due to the lack of core company jobs in the EEE branch.

Overall, the placement of EEE at MAIT is average.

Is it better to do ECE (Electronics and Communication Engineering) by IIIT Nagpur or Electrical Engineering by VJTI?

SR
Shivani Rana Posted On : June 23rd, 2021
B.Tech from Veermata Jijabai Technological Institute (2021)

I have a few friends at VJTI and they are not happy with the Electrical Engineering program offered by the institute. Here are some of the things that they mentioned about the institute.

  • In VJTI, there has been a lack of good faculties for ages. Most of the professors in VJTI lack sufficient experience to deliver proper lectures and provide proper practical exposure to students.
  • Due to the lack of faculties in VJTI, there are walk-in interviews conducted by the institute to hire faculties. But, even in those interviews, there is no proper candidate with good enough experience. Some of the faculties are even from tier-3 colleges.
  • There is no proper laboratory equipment available in VJTI, especially in the electrical engineering department. Almost 90% of the lab works are done through software simulations.
  • The class timings in VJTI are not satisfactory for most students in the institute. On a usual day, classes start from 9 AM and continue till 5 PM, which most students think to be too long and hectic.

Considering the above disadvantages of VJTI, ECE at IIIT Nagpur is a much better choice for students. Here is a brief overview of the ECE course at IIIT Nagpur.

Course Fee

9.41 LPA

Average CTC

7.70 LPA

Highest CTC

20 LPA

Major Recruiters

Goldman Sachs, L&T Infotech, Bosch Ltd.

Hope this helps.

Which course is better in IIITM Gwalior for a 5-year integrated course or a 4-year B.Tech in CS?

RS
Rohan Singh Posted On : July 7th, 2021
Studied at Indian Institute of Information Technology and Management, Gwalior (2021)

You should surely take the 5-year course because it is quite convenient. You will get really good placements with the 5-year course. Additionally, with the 4-year course being just newly introduced, the placements will take some time to develop. The IPG faculty is very good as compared to the B.Tech faculty who are novices.

Moreover, you will also save an entire year. If you are interested in coding, you will get an extra year to hone your skills and improve them which would eventually lead to better placements. So between the two, choose the five-year course.

Which one is better, ECE from BITS Goa or from NIT with a rank of 13,592?

SD
Suhaas Dangwal Posted On : August 26th, 2021
B.E. Electrical and Electronics Engineering, BITS Pilani, K. K. Birla Goa Campus (2023)

The answer to the question may be crisp and short but a government college is better than a private college any day in India for higher education.

It is a comparison between two brands, BITS and NIT. The bigger and better brand is NIT when compared to BITS.

Apart from the great brand value of government colleges, studying and being graduated from a government-affiliated college has various advantages over other top private colleges. However, the option you prefer and want to pursue is completely your choice. Consider the parameters and opt for the best.

Is Acharya Institute of Technology the best for studying aeronautical engineering?

SS
Sunit Sharma Posted On : July 5th, 2021
Studied Aerospace and Aeronautical Engineering at Acharya Institute of Technology (2018)

The B.E program in Aeronautical Engineering at Acharya Institute of Technology is a good course to undertake. Here is why.

  • The faculty and the teaching pedagogy are good.
  • The teaching curriculum is also better compared to similar ranked colleges. Scoring marks in the internal exams is quite easy which helps you in the end semester exams and thus your grades.
  • You are a fresher and the branch itself is a bit of a niche. So you cannot expect many core companies to come here for placements unless you are from any top-tier institute like the NITs or IITs. According to the recent placement highlights the highest and average CTC offered to the Aeronautical Engineering students are 5 LPA and 4 LPA respectively.

One of my friends did his Aeronautical Engineering degree from Acharya Institute of Technology and vouches for the course. If you are interested in the course then you can surely join it. You will have a good future in the field if you work hard.

Which college should I select for mechanical engineering, Christ University or PES Electronic City campus?

A
Admin Posted On : May 23rd, 2024

I am a second year B.Tech Mechanical student at Christ University Bangalore. I do not know much about PES Electronic City campus, but I can give some insight into my own university.

I was suggested to join Christ University for my engineering studies by my elder sister. She has some friends at the time who were also pursuing their B.Tech from Christ.

I selected Christ for engineering studies because-

  1. It follows a good curriculum with a decent grading system.
  2. The faculty is experienced and good at teaching.
  3. Christ offers good facilities to students. The university library is huge, and it has a vast collection of books related to engineering studies.
  4. The campus environment is good, there are sports facilities, and the campus also has a swimming pool.
  5. According to 2024 placement figures, B.Tech has received the highest package offer of 20 LPA among all the different courses offered at the university.

These are some reasons why I would suggest you choose Christ University Bangalore for your B.Tech Mechanical degree.

Which has a better faculty in civil engineering, Manipal Institute of Technology or UPES, Dehradun?

RK
Rajesh Kasur Posted On : June 29th, 2021
Civil Engineering at IIIT Hyderabad (2019)

One of my cousins is a recent graduate from Manipal Institute of Technology (MIT) and mentions that the department of Civil engineering is among the oldest departments of all. Here are some factors that you should know about it.

  • Alongside the newer faculty members, who are both professional and easy-going, the institute also has old faculty members who are well experienced as well. However, at times, they can be quite strict too.
  • The present HOD of civil engineering is moreover admirable as well. My cousin states the same because he sat for one of his classes.
  • He mentions that the HOD is rather supportive and dynamic. He is always willing to be of help if any student needs it for their further studies.
  • Professors of this department keep maintaining their decorum by all means. But, the placement stats of civil engineering has unfortunately not been great in most of the institutes nonetheless.

Institutes

MIT Manipal

UPES Dehradun

Highest CTC

INR. 12 LPA

INR. 7 LPA

Lowest CTC

INR. 4 LPA

INR. 1.5 LPA

Top Recruiting Companies

Since there is not enough information about UPES Dehradun, you can always check the highlights, curriculum, faculty, and other factors on their main homepage. Regardless of it, you can enroll in MIT because there are several projects to take hold of as well.

SS
Samriddhi Sarkar Posted On : June 28th, 2021
B.Tech from Indian Institute of Engineering Science and Technology, Shibpur (2019)

Having friends studying in both the colleges, It is suggested that you go for NIT Jamshedpur metallurgy would prove to be a better option because the placement records of the college are pretty good.

  • More than 78-80% of students get recruited every year from this college and get offers from the core and non-core companies.
  • It has also had the locational advantage of being situated in the city of Tata’s and companies like Tata Steel, Tata Tinplate, Tata Motors, and Tata metals recruit.
  • The laboratories and campus infrastructure of the college are extremely good.
  • IIEST has pretty good campus and has really great faculty members as well.
  • For placement core companies like IOSL, Vedanta, etc visits the college’s campus for recruitment.
  • Many consultancies and finance firms also recruit students from the metallurgy department of this college.

IIEST Shibpur

Fees

7.16 lakh

1.36 lakh

Lowest CTC

3 LPA

2.53 LPA
