How do I write a good answer in the exam of a Master of Arts English MEG at IGNOU and other universities?
Here are two of the major points that are helpful in writing a good answer in the exam for an MA in English:

The answer must start with an excellent introduction to the writer and the text. Then, there should be good content, sticking to the point. The answer must end with an eminent conclusion.

The answer must not be written in a storytelling way. Students are supposed to answer what the question is asking them to explain, the theme, the character, and the point of view attached to the question.
Whatever answer students write, it must be revolving around giving proper reasons, perspectives, and possible central ideas that a question is trying to ask. The answer must not be diverting and stretching, without providing any appropriate conclusion.
Can I do MBBS and BA from IGNOU at the same time ?
Yes, UGC has given its approval regarding pursuing two courses at the same time, only provided that one cannot pursue both these courses in regular mode. This basically means that for both courses to be considered valid,, one course has to be in regular mode and the other course must be in distance mode from Open University.
UGC rules are applicable in the case of IGNOU also. Earlier before UGC made such changes, IGNOU did not allow two regular courses simultaneously through the same University. But in accordance with recent regulations, you can do two regular as well as two distance courses at the same time.

DU SOL or IGNOU Which is better for BA General correspondence program?
IGNOU is better than DU SOL, for a BA General correspondence program. An IGNOU degree is better recognized in the country. You can get the online course materials easily from the official website. IGNOU has good lab facilities as well.
It conducts classes and examinations on time. You can get help from the faculties online regarding any course-related doubts.
How to change IGNOU subject/course/medium?
Candidates who wish to change their programme within the first 30 days from the last date of applying for admission must follow these guidelines:
- For Bachelor's Degree Courses, candidates can change their programme from BA to BCom/BTS/BSW or vice-versa, or BCom to BA/BTS/BSW or vice-versa, or BSc to BA/BCom/BTS/BSW. However, no change is permitted from BA/BCom/BTS/BSW to BSc.
- To change the course from BA/BCom to BTS/BSW, the candidate must pay the difference of fee in addition to Rs. 500.
For Master Degree Courses, candidates can change their programme only in the first year of study within 30 days from the last date of applying for admission. The candidate must pay full programme fees and must forfeit the paid fees for the previous programme.
- Candidates must submit the application to the concerned department and pay the required fee through a Demand Draft in favour of IGNOU payable at the place of the concerned Regional Centre.
- Changing IGNOU Subject or Elective
Candidates who want to change their subject or elective in the admitted programme within the first 30 days from the receipt of the first set of IGNOU Study Material must follow these guidelines:
- Candidates must address their request to the concerned Regional Centre and pay Rs. 350 per 2 or 4 credit course and Rs. 700 per 6 or 8 credit courses for undergraduate courses. For Master Degree Courses, the fee is Rs. 600 per 2 or 4 credit courses and Rs. 1200 per 6 or 8 credit courses.
- Payment must be made through a Demand Draft in favour of IGNOU payable at the place of the concerned IGNOU Regional Centre.
- Changing IGNOU Medium
Candidates who want to change their medium within the first 30 days from the receipt of the first lot of study materials in the first year must follow these guidelines:
- Candidates must make the request to the concerned Regional Centre and pay Rs. 350 plus Rs. 350 per 2 or 4 credit course and Rs. 700 per 6 or 8 credit courses for undergraduate courses. For Master Degree Courses, the fee is Rs. 350 plus Rs. 600 per 2 or 4 credit courses and Rs. 1200 per 6 or 8 credit courses.
- Payment must be made through a Demand Draft in favour of IGNOU payable at the place of the concerned IGNOU Regional Centre.
- Status for Change of Medium, Subject & Program
Candidates can track the status of their application for change of course, medium or subject by following these guidelines:
- Candidates must visit the IGNOU Admission Status page and enter their enrollment number.
- The request for a change can be found on the left side of the admission status page on top.
- Candidates can view their current status, including whether the change has been accepted by the regional centre or not.
- Once the change is accepted, it will be updated on the page.
Is BA in philosophy offered by IGNOU?

Is Annamalai University's graduation degree in Distance Education not valid for admission in a PG from IGNOU? IGNOU rejected my admission due to this reason. What should I do?
If a university issues a certificate to a student who passed a written examination in a state other than the university's territorial jurisdiction. For example, if a state university grants admission and conducts exams in another state, the results will be invalid under UGCC regulations.
For example, Andhra University (state university) should not conduct examinations outside of Andhra Pradesh.
If it is done in this manner, the certificate will be invalid. As a result, it is one of the reasons why IGNOU does not admit students with such certificates.
If there is a court case against the university that issued the certificate, IGNOU will not grant admission based on that certificate. As a result, IGNOU has stringent UGC admission requirements.
Is an IGNOU degree acceptable for IIM?
Yes, IGNOU degrees are acceptable by IIM. All bachelor's degrees offered by IGNOU are recognized by DEC, UGC, and AICTE. So, if you have completed BA, BSc, or BCom from IGNOU, you will be eligible for CAT.
Note that, your degree from IGNOU should be a bachelor's or higher. Certificate or Diploma courses aren’t accepted. Since CAT eligibility criteria clearly state, applicants need to have a bachelor's degree or equivalent.
Which one is better correspondence course MA psychology from from IGNOU or MSc Psychology from University of Madras?
IGNOU is better recognized for distance courses. So, pursuing a correspondence course in MA Psychology will be better. However, if possible try to do a regular course in counseling, clinical or industrial psychology. Psychology is practical oriented subject, and you will need to do dissertations, practicals, and internships as a part of coursework. Being a practical-based course, the career outcomes of correspondence degrees in Psychology are somewhat limited.
What would be a better option between Madras University and IGNOU for distance education for a master’s of public administration?
IGNOU will be better for pursuing a distance master’s in Public Administration. It is one of the best universities for distance education in the country. The course content is excellent and the notes are well-structured. IGNOU course materials can help in civil service examination preparations as well.
Both Madras University and IGNOU are good options for pursuing a master’s in Public Administration. But if you have to choose one, select IGNOU.
