Can I get into the PGDIE course of NITIE if I have a 52.2% in my 12th and 8.2 CGPA in my BE mechanical?

AB
Aritra Banerjee Posted On : March 31st, 2022
PGDIE from National Institute of Industrial Engineering (2017)

As your 12th percentage is below 60%, you will face difficulty in getting a shortlist. NITIE selection criteria assign certain weightage to 10th and 12th scores. So, even if you get shortlisted for the GD/PI round, your 12th percentage will bring down your overall score. A person with similar GD-PI performance and a higher 12th percentage is more likely to get preference for admission.

During the Summer internship shortlist, most recruiters usually give weightage to the 12th score. There are recruiters who don’t assign weightage to 10th and 12th scores but these are fewer in number.

Can I get an admission in IIM Ahmedabad if I got 71% in 10th and 76% in 12th?

AG
Arunabha Ghose Posted On : March 9th, 2022
MBA from Institute of Rural Management, Anand (2020)

Whether or not you will get admission in IIM Ahmedabad depends on factors such as your stream in 12th, your undergraduate score, and branch. IIM Ahmedabad also considers relevant work experience (if any).

IIM Ahmedabad selection criteria:

The following formula is used to calculate the composite score (CS) -

CS=0.35*(Pro-rated AR Score/35) + 0.65*(Normalized overall CAT Score)

AR score is calculated based on your 10th, 12th, and graduation marks. You can find the detailed calculation here

If you are an engineering student you will need to score 100 percentile in CAT to get a call. As IIM A has an 80% cutoff for science students. If you are from Arts or Commerce, having 98+ percentile and 85% in graduation should get you an interview call. If you are from streams like Law, Hotel management, etc, you will need to score around 96 percentile to get a call, provided you have good grades in graduation.

Is a Maharashtra state candidate eligible for admission to Vasavi College of Engineering, Hyderabad? If yes, what is the procedure?

YR
Yash Reddy Posted On : August 20th, 2021
B.Tech Mechanical Engineering, Vasavi College of Engineering (2022)

There are 3 ways through which you can enter Vasavi College of Engineering (VCE). These are EAMCET, JEE Mains, or NRI / NRI Sponsored.

  • If you opt to apply through EAMCET, you will need an excellent EAMCET score in order to be admitted to VCE.
  • If you are non-local, you are only eligible to fill 15% of the total seats under the convenor category. 85% seats are reserved for locals.
  • CSE, IT, and ECE disciplines may require a triple-digit rank.
  • As one of my friends scored 55, 153 AIR in Mains 18 and applied under B-CAT, he was offered Mechanical and he accepted it.
  • The best thing about B-CAT admissions is that there are no reservations and the cost structure is the same as for EAMCET applicants, which is now 1.6 LPA.
  • In the month of June, the college issues notification for B-CAT applicants, which you'll check on the official website.
  • You must pay the application cost, and register as an applicant, providing all of your information (JEE Rank, XII Marks, etc.).
  • The fourth option is to apply through the NRI category, which follows the same method as the Mains application.
  • However, you would be admitted based on a merit list of XII marks obtained. It is extremely difficult to get a seat in the CSE branch.
  • Last year's NRI cutoff for CSE was around 97% and there are similar trends for ECE and IT as well.
  • Mechanical and Civil have comparatively low cutoffs around 75 percent.

So, a Maharashtrian candidate is eligible to enroll at Vasavi College of Engineering if you go through any of the ways mentioned above.

Did NIOS students get admission in Kongu Engineering College Erode? How much percentage do I need? I studied PCM.

YR
Yashwant Rajendra Posted On : September 8th, 2021

The eligibility criteria are different in all the private colleges according to their rules and norms.

The National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) doesn't cater to the open education system and it seems that it doesn't have value but that's not true.

Although, in general terms, to get admission to Kongu Engineering College, Erode, you should have at least 50% aggregate in your 12th standard with the subject as physics, chemistry, and maths as the main subjects. At least 45% marks if you fall under the reserved categories (ST, SC, OBC, etc.).

SS
Snahanshu Singla Posted On : April 21st, 2021
B.Tech CSE from Chandigarh Group of Colleges Landran, Mohali (2019)

The two options for taking admission to CGC Landran are below.

  1. Through PTU Counselling: 75% seats.
  2. Directly by college: 25% seats.

Admission Details:

  • B. Tech admission is on the valid score of JEE Main for Punjab domicile candidates.
  • The final admission is dependent upon the PTU counseling.
  • In JEE Main, you need a rank up to 6-7 lakhs.
  • You can also get direct admission to this college. The only condition is that you should have at least 70 percent marks in your HSC.
  • Even though your HSC marks are short, you may also get a college seat on a donation basis. The donation rates change according to your marks in HSC and the time left for starting the new academic session.

Hope this helps.

What is the lowest undergraduation percentage to get into IIM Ahmedabad or old the IIM?

SR
Sampriti Roy Posted On : July 30th, 2021
MBA from IIM Bangalore (2018)

I know someone who got admission at IIM Ahmedabad and here is his profile.

  • Work experience- None (0 years)
  • High school percentage- 91.45%
  • Intermediate percentage- 76.33%
  • Undergraduate percentage- 67.21%
  • CAT score: 98.85 percentile

However, I will advise you to not concentrate on these trivial facts. Prepare well and give your best in CAT.
If you manage to score a percentile of 99, then you can confidently anticipate a phone call from any old IIM. After that, it comes down to the way you present yourself in the GD PI round. That would eventually be your real test.
