VIT Vellore made it in the Book of Records, India for placing the highest number of students since its advent. IIEST Shibpur is the 2nd oldest engineering college in India. It has a faculty strength of 250 highly qualified members. Both the institutes are superiors in their respective places. Though if you get to study at VIT Vellore make sure to consider it.
NIRF ranked Jadavpur University 12th in the top 100 universities and colleges of India. According to QS Asia rankings, it is ranked 136. Whereas, IIEST Shibpur has been ranked 19th by NIRF among the top colleges of India. As we know that IIEST Shibpur is one of the topmost engineering colleges in India and Jadavpur university is also making its mark so these colleges are often compared.
Given below is a brief comparison between the two institutes based on certain parameters.

Anyone having any confusion has to which of the two is the best must-have got a clear idea of it by now for the above-mentioned comparisons.
I would recommend you to go for a B.Tech course rather than a dual degree program if you are expecting to get hired after the completion of your engineering.
Companies prefer candidates who are graduates a little more than post-graduates when it comes to recruitment for jobs. Also, choosing a dual degree program would mean that you will be spending one extra year in rigorous coursework and projects. Projects that are there in the curriculum of Post Graduate Programs can be pretty hectic and could weaken your spirits especially at times when you see your friends graduating and getting job opportunities from companies.
However, if you have plans to spend more time in the academic fields then I would suggest you consider a dual degree for your career. A dual degree can help you a lot in your higher education. If you can qualify for competitive examinations like GATE, then you will be eligible to get a monthly stipend for pursuing M.Tech for 1 year.
The final choice is in your hands as you would have to consider the pros and cons of both the programs. You can perform further research and analysis to make the final decision for your Career.
It is seen that usually, the exam conducted by ISRO, that is ICRB, takes students from the different branches of engineering that include electrical, electronics, and mechanical sections. So the exam syllabus is mostly based on these branches only.
Lastly, we can conclude that you have two options if you dream to work in ISRO. Firstly you can apply for a mechanical branch while filling an application for the exam or you can pursue higher studies and then apply for the vacancies in ISRO. This approach can help you immensely in turning your dream into reality.
Both colleges have their pros and cons. KIIT is a private college with a beautiful infrastructure whereas, IIEST is the oldest government college for engineering in India with average infrastructure. KIIT has a NIRF ranking of 24 while IIEST stands at the position of 21 among Engineering colleges.
Admissions:
KIIT:
Students are admitted on the basis ofKIITEE and thosewith 300-350 marks under 4000 rank secure a seat. To be eligible, a student must have 60% in the board exams. However, if a student does not get CSE for their admission, they can choose another branch and score more than 8.5 CGPA to transfer into CSE after the first year.

IIEST SHIBPUR:
The comparison lies that IIEST Shibpur has a good value for money than KIIT. Although not many companies approach IIEST Shibpur in comparison to KIIT there stands a higher chance to get away with the highest package on skills and knowledge. Also, getting in is not as easy as JEE mains scoreshould be very high. But overall, IIEST Shibpur stands in a good place.
IIEST Shibpur and Jadavpur University both are quite reputed universities. Over the past few years, the former has improved a lot too. However, choosing JU for your CSE degree will be better. Also, you should note that IIEST offers integrated M.Tech courses.
Although IIEST Shibpur is quite reputed, its placement record is not comparable to that of JU. In the recent placement drive at JU, the placement average was 100%. The average CTC offered at the campus was 19 LPA. Apart from the placement, there are also great research opportunities at JU.
The transformation of IIEST from BESU, has been quite effective. With time, IIEST can even become better than JU. However, as of now, JU is the better alternative.
If you're considering pursuing a Master of Science (MSc) in Biology at BITS Hyderabad, you may be wondering about your options for changing your specialization to computer science (CS) later on. Here are some things to keep in mind:
Ultimately, the decision to pursue an MSc in Biology at BITS Hyderabad with the goal of switching to CS after the first year is a personal one that depends on your individual circumstances and goals yet it is the best option that you should choose over LNMIIT (CSE), IIEST Shibpur (IT), and IIITB (ECE). While it may be a challenging process, it could also be a rewarding and fulfilling journey for those who are passionate about computer science and willing to work hard to achieve their goals.
IIEST scores more than HBTU Kanpur according to the parameters mentioned below. Both colleges have a rich endowment. But, IIEST stands separately for spreading the entire IIT structure in India. IIEST has a more vibrant and strong Alumni base, but few institutes of India also rival it.

Both the colleges accept a creamy layer of students with respective state exams and top-notch performers in their respective States. Both colleges have failed in doing so in recent years. The identity crisis could be partly blamed, but even academically it has failed in overriding top NIT and other colleges.
IIEST Shibpur takes admission based on JEE Main scores. The counseling is usually conducted by JoSAA. Some of my friends are alumni of the institute so I can give you some idea of the cutoff trends for the CSE branch. Here are the recent cutoff trends for the CSE branch at the institute.

BIT Mesra and IIEST Shibpur are both extremely renowned institutes of India. It has been seen that the Birla Institute of Technology is a government-aided institute whereas IIEST Shibpur is a full government institute. As far as the rankings are concerned IIEST Shibpur has been ranked 19th by NIRF among the top colleges in India and BIT’s ranking is 33.

Though the salary package is higher at BIT Mesra on other aspects IIEST Shibpur is clearly winning. The university fees are also less as compared to BIT Mesra. So, it is suggested that one must go for IIEST Shibpur.
