The IIT BHU pharmacy department is really good. They offer a BTech program, an MPharm, an integrated dual degree program and a PhD in Pharmacy. IIT BHU Pharmacy graduates find good careers in pharmaceutical production, research and development, medication delivery systems, etc.

IIT BHU doesn’t directly offer an MBA program. MBA is offered by BHU under the Faculty of Commerce. The MBA program at BHU is ranked considerably high at #56 in India by NIRF 2023. It is the 8th-best MBA program in the state of Uttar Pradesh. 

The MBA program at BHU is mainly core-based. The programs offered are.

The Kashiyatra Fest in 2024 was really exciting and vibrant. It was held in January’24 and had notable performances from artists like Vishal & Shekhar, Akhil, Sachdeva, Ravator, etc. 

There were many events like Natraaj, Enquizta, Crosswindz, Banish, Samvaad, etc. Overall, I witnessed a wide range of experiences and thrilling evenings.

During IIT BHU summer internships 2024, students were offered a summer internship at “Summer of Bitcoin”. 

Other brilliant summer internship offers secured by IIT BHU students include programs like DAAD-WISE, Mitacs GRI, ANU FRT, etc.

In the summer internships of 2023, the average stipend was INR 1.15 lakhs per month, while the highest stipend went up to INR 4.50 lakhs per month.

IIT BHU library is really good. IIT BHU library has over 1,42,000 books, journals, theses, reports, etc. It also gives access to over 10,000 e-journals and 3500 e-books. 

There are a total of 6 IIT BHU libraries, including the Shreenivas Deshpande Library and 5 departmental libraries, which are available to all students, faculty members and employees of IIT BHU.

Yes, IIT BHU has a guest house for visitors called the Gandhi Technology Alumni Centre (GTAC). 

Its complete address is Hindu University, Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh 221005. Their contact number is 0542 257 5389.

It was established by IIT BHU alumni in 2007. The guest house provides stay for the following types of visitors:

• Alumni and other guests during alumni meetings.
• Participants of QIP courses.
• Participants in cultural programs, and other departmental programs.
• Parents of IIT BHU students.
• Friends or relatives of IIT BHU faculty/non-faculty members.

The current director of IIT BHU is Professor Amit Patra. He has been appointed as Director of IIT BHU on May 16, 2024. Generally, the directorship tenure is for 5-6 years.

Previously, he served as a faculty member of the Department of Electrical Engineering and as the Deputy Director at IIT Kharagpur. He has also been an electrical engineer for over 35 years and is a respected alumnus of IIT Kharagpur. 

He has also visited the Ruhr University in Germany as a post-doctoral fellow and has made significant contributions to VLSI & power management circuits and control systems.

My sister opted for an online BS in Data Science and Applications from IIT Madras in 2023. According to her experience, the placements for online degrees by IITM are decent, but not top notch. The placement opportunities provided by the online degree team are not up to par with the prestige of IIT Madras. 

The placement opportunities for online students are equal to those offered by Tier 3 engineering colleges. It becomes clear during placements that recruiters don't treat an online degree the same as a regular degree from IIT Madras. 

But the curriculum and faculty for the online courses are both top notch. The lectures are delivered by IITM teachers and faculty members from other well-known IITs. 

So if you take the lectures with utmost sincerity, the online degree will prepare you well enough to get an off campus job at a good company. As far as college placements are concerned, you will get a decent job opportunity.
