Yes, LPU tries to cater to the diverse interests of MTech students through various clubs and organisations covering different topics. LPU has more than 350 student organisations in 18+ categories providing holistic development among students. These organisations have more than 10,000 active members and conduct around 500 events every year.

• One such club is the IEEE Student Branch. It provides MTech students with workshops, competitions and seminars related to their interests. 
• There are also clubs for psychoneurobics and software website and app development that may provide MTech students with the opportunity to engage in extracurricular activities and also develop network and collaboration opportunities at the same time.

As per the experience of my seniors, LPU provides their MTech students with good research and internship opportunities. Apart from internships, LPU also offers MTech students the chance to work directly in the industry through industry projects. 

LPU has partnerships with more than 2500 companies in India and abroad to facilitate research opportunities and internships for students. MTech students can pursue research projects under the guidance of experienced faculty members or can work at leading institutes through LPU’s extensive industry connections. 

During my time at LPU, I had some friends who were pursuing MTech. According to their experience:

• MTech CSE has recorded a total of 900+ recruiters with more than 2000 dream and super dream offers. 
• The average package for the top 10% of students was INR 14.97 lakhs with the highest salary being INR 64 lakhs. 
• MTech Biotechnology recorded 80+ recruiters with the highest salary package of INR 12 lakhs. 
• While for MTech Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence, the highest package was INR 64 lakhs. 

As MTech is a technical course, LPU students are required to undergo practical training in laboratories. LPU strongly believes in laboratory sessions and practical training and has well-equipped laboratories. 

Practicals are an important component of MTech courses that allow students to learn the real-world use and impact of various course aspects. LPU has laboratories with modern infrastructure tailored to each specialisation of the MTech course.

Yes, MTech students can take the benefit of scholarships offered by LPU. MTech students can avail of scholarships based on the LPUNEST exam. The scholarship amount is as follows. 

Scholarships are also offered based on innovation, entrepreneurship, sports, R&D, social service, board toppers and bravery awards. Financial aid is also provided to deserving students.

The per semester fee for different MTech specialisations at LPU is INR 1.20 lakhs with the total fees being INR 4.8 lakhs. Students can also avail of scholarships up to 48% by scoring more or equal to Category III, II and I in the LPUNEST exam.

I would recommend you to frequently check LPU’s official website for dates regarding MTech admission. The university generally releases MTech admission dates around the start of the academic year. The exact dates can vary slightly for different MTech specialisations. Admission to MTech courses is done in two phases between April and May. The university often provides several days for candidates to complete their MTech admission process. 

This year, the online registration for MTech admission started on May 1, 2024. Candidates can appear in the LPUNEST exam between May 6 to May 28, 2024, with the last date of application being May 31, 2024. Candidates can apply for the exam up to 3 days before the exam date. 

Applying for MTech courses at LPU is pretty straightforward. My friend completed his MTech in Biotechnology from LPU and according to him, the admission process is very easy and hassle-free. Firstly, candidates should make sure that they meet the eligibility criteria set by different MTech courses according to the specialisation. They may also have to appear in entrance exams like LPUNEST, CUET or GATE. The general steps are as follows.

• To apply for MTech admission, you have to visit the official LPU admission website and sign up by sharing your credentials.
