VIT Vellore intakes students for its B.Tech courses based on the VITEEE entrance ranks followed by counselling. The VITEEE 2024 Result was declared on May 3, 2024

This is the eligibility criteria for 2024 B.Tech admissions at VIT Vellore-

• The Candidate must be an Indian National / NRI/ PIO/ OCI holder.
• The candidate must have passed 10+2.
• They must obtain min. 60% in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics/Biology (PCM/ PCB) in class 12 or equivalent exam.
• They must be born on or after July 1, 2000.

An eligible candidate must secure the required cutoff rank in VITEEE 2024 exams for admission into B.Tech at VIT Vellore.

The VITEEE 2024 counselling process has commenced at “vit.ac.in”. To register for the counselling, you need to visit the official website and log in using your application number and password. 

Candidates with Rank 1- 20,000 in the exam have to fill in their choice of course and campus for Phase 1 of the counselling by May 8, 2024. The seat allotment result for Phase 1 counselling will be announced on May 10, 2024.

VIT Vellore has not officially announced any date for the release of the VITEEE 2024 cutoff. You can check the expected VITEEE cutoff based on the last year’s data here. The closing rank is considered the cutoff. VIT Vellore assigns the percentile rank to candidates based on their rank. The following factors are considered while deciding the VITEEE cutoff:

Since IIM Sirmaur still operates from a temporary campus, it does not offer as much rigor as other B-Schools. Every term is of three months and typically, in the 1st year, every term has 9-10 mandatory courses. Every course has a unique grading system set by the faculty member. Almost all the courses require a student to prepare a final group project. The guidelines of the group projects are circulated within 2-weeks of the commencement of the course. Every course has a Mid-Term which takes place after 1.5 months and an End-Term at the end of the term. The marking scheme varies from faculty to faculty. During the term-exams, the students are not given any holidays in between the exams and every day, at most two exams take place. The final week of the term is extremely hectic as the deadlines of all the group projects are scheduled in the final week along with presentations of almost all the projects. Hence, it is advisable to complete the projects 1-2 weeks before the deadline. The second year is less exhausting as each term has only 6-7 courses while the 6th term has only 3 courses. Midterms are usually not held in the second year and the volume of classes per week is also very less.

Yes, in my opinion, LPU will prove to be a good choice for your PhD programs. I enrolled for a PhD course in 2021. As a current student at LPU, I can list down some of the things that would help you understand why LPU is worth it for a PhD course.

If we look at the past trends, most students get placed in the Marketing specialization. Also, the current Director of IIM Sirmaur is one of the most reputed personalities in the country when it comes to Marketing. The top Marketing roles offered at IIM Sirmaur are Area Sales Manager, Marketing Research Associate, Leadership Trainee, Advertisement Operations Specialist, Digital Marketing, etc. The top companies hiring students for the Marketing roles are: Amazon, HCL, Cognizant, TATA Power, DS Group, Affinity, etc.

LPU hostel facilities are designed to provide students with a comfortable living environment. The university has 17 multi-story hostel buildings. Each hostel has its own dedicated warden and maintenance staff. Some of the top facilities that are provided to students in the LPU hostel include furnished rooms, laundry services, internet connectivity, water purifier, ambulance service, CCTV support and more. There are also many tuck shops and eating joints within the hostel premises for students at walking distance. The university also provides in-house mentor support for after-hours guidance. 

Apart from the facilities, students have to adhere to the LPU hostel norms and regulations for their security and safety. Students have to follow the hostel timings otherwise a call can be given to the student’s parents if they fail to show up on time. Application is required for night outs and attendance takes place in the evenings when students are required to be present in their rooms.

As a PhD Scholar from LPU, I would recommend studying law from here. The university’s law department has emerged as a pioneering institution in recent years. It is ranked at the 16th spot by NIRF in the law category in 2023.

The university also features two moot courts to provide students with a court-like environment for practising, showcasing LPU’s dedication to providing students with the best facilities. Further, the law courses at LPU are recognised by the Bar Council of India. Career Guidance Magazine and Higher Education Review have also recognised the law school as one of the ten most promising institutions in India. It has also signed an MOU with NLSIU Bangalore for various programs. The law school also boast an excellent placement record with top companies like Tech Mahindra, Awareness Attorneys, Decathlon and more visiting the campus.
