However, today, the campus hosts all the industries such as consulting, finance etc., in its placement process with consulting extending the most number of offers. Companies include the likes of Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanely, HUL, Nestle, McKinsey and Co., Bain, BCG etc.
Yes, the college boasts a strong return on investment for its students. It helps students to get the best placement with the best package for them. The average placement is of 16.15 LPA which is comparatively good with a fees of 11.5 lakhs, thus offering a good ROI, Additionally, placements are based on students performance. Those who excel academically and possess strong skills can attain even higher packages. The students who are not able to perform well in academics and are not much good in other activities and also not have good skills also get a decent package of around 8-9 LPA, which isn't bad considering the fees, especially for those not performing as well.
The cutoff for the SC/ST category is lowered during the admission process until they are provided with equal opportunities, as other students are being offered. It depends on the calibre of the student and the package they secure. SCMHRD provides students with a competitive background. For instance, one of the seniors from the 2019 batch from business analytics got placed with a package of 19 Lakh.
If a student got a placement of 10 LPA then he is not allowed to sit for a company offering a package of 30 LPA. The policy of SIU is that once the student gets placed he is not allowed to sit further for placement. This policy ensures equal opportunities for every student and reduces the chances of unfair competition, thereby increasing the chances of every student getting placed.
The average work experience for the batch is 14.5 months which is mentioned in the placement report. The batch profile comprises students from diversified backgrounds, 68% of the students are engineers with strong technical backgrounds. This diversity is unlikely to pose any issues. It is not necessary to join with 45 months of work experience as freshers also bang good packages of above 16 LPA.
In SCMHRD, many students with less than 60% in their graduation are still getting placed. The eligibility criteria for placement often depend on the requirements of individual companies. Some companies require a minimum aggregate of 70% & more but usually companies do not come with such criteria. Also the aggregate is taken into consideration in the final year while the whole result is still awaited. This means there is a lesser chance of any student being unplaced with less than 60% in graduation.
There are 43% freshers in SCMHRD during the year 2021-2023 with a gender diversity of 30% female and 70% male with the majority of the people coming from engineering backgrounds. With strong industry connections, SCMHRD provides freshers with good placement opportunities under diverse roles like Risk Manager, Project Manager, Sales specialist and more. The expectation from students is to prepare well for a mock interview and attend various seminars to gain guidance from an industrial specialist. Overall, freshers are groomed well before they appear for their final interviews and are offered a good package ranging from 19 LPA to 22 LPA.
Various Finance related roles are available in placements at IMT Ghaziabad. Some of them are as follows:
