Which is the best for an MBA out of Fore School of Management, Delhi and IBS, Hyderabad?

DM
Debapriyo Mandal Posted On : February 16th, 2023
Lives in Hyderabad, Telangana, India (2015-present)

FORE School of Management is definitely the better choice than IBS Hyderabad. It is better in almost all aspects when compared to IBS Hyderabad. The table below has drawn a slight comparison on the basis of some basic factors

Parameters

FORE Management

IBS Hyderabad

Batch size

394

1100

Fees

?16.98 L

?5.25 L - 16.02 L

Average CTC

INR 14.5 LPA

INR 8.71 LPA

Ranking

60 (NIRF Management)

19 (NIRF Ranking)

From the above table we can infer the following points

  • The batch-size of FORE is much less than that of IBS Hyderabad thereby increasing the quality of education and placement opportunities
  • The average CTC of FORE Management is also higher than that of IBS Hyderabad
  • The fees is almost similar of both the schools and when compared to the average package, FORE has a better ROI than IBS Hyderabad
  • IBS Hyderabad has better rankings than FORE, but this stems from the fact that it is the oldest B school.

An additional feature of FORE that sets it further apart from IBS Hyderabad is its International Immersion Program. This program offers the kind of exposure you cannot even get at a reputed B School like IBS. You get exposed to the Global corporate world and the best part is that its fees are included in the course fees. So considering all the points mentioned above I conclude that FORE is a far better choice than IBS Hyderabad for MBA.

What will happen to my MBA course at PIBM Pune if the coronavirus situation still persists?

TM
Trina Manna Posted On : June 23rd, 2021
PGDM from Pune Institute of Business Management (2020)

I know someone who graduated from PIBM in 2020. Here’s what she had to say.

  • PIBM Pune organizes the business orientation program for its candidates coming from several graduation backgrounds. The strategy behind this is to bring all the students to one pace, which is indeed a great effort.
  • Being in the present coronavirus situation, PIBM organizes its classes, training, and placement sessions online successfully to date.
  • Considering the batch of 2019-21, most of the students in the batch are placed in reputed companies. Some of the companies who visited the campus for this batch are Deloitte, Cians, e-Clex, Xanadu Realty, TIAA, DRE Homes, CITCO, Reckitt Benckiser, etc. The highest package offered was Rs. 15 LPA.
  • PIBM Pune provides extensive efforts for securing the future of its students and also expects that students in the institute get themselves prepared with great dedication. You won’t need to worry about your academics at PIBM Pune. The institute gives every possible effort to complete the syllabus on time and place each and every student in good companies.

Whatever the situation is, be sure that PIBM Pune will provide enough opportunities in terms of academics and placements.

What is better choice doing MS in Management from USA or doing MBA from top B schools like JBIMS, FMS, ISB, XLRI, SP JAIN (IIMs excluded for a while)?

RS
Raman Kumar Shekhar Posted On : June 18th, 2021
Studied at Delhi University (2019)

One of my friends was pursuing the One Year Management Program in the US. So, I can give you the scenario of doing management from the US.

Pursuing a one-year program from the US is not a good option, no matter which university you are choosing.

  • As they lack in providing internship opportunities. International students also find it hard to get job opportunities because of their visa sponsorships.
  • Before enrolling into any B-school first get clear what you want from the course and university.
  • Above mentioned, JBIMS, FMS, ISB, XLRI, and SP JAIN, all are good and give you a good job opportunity.
  • While MBA programs from ISB, FMS, XLRI are economical, SP Jain Mumbai and Jamnalal Bajaj Mumbai are also good.

Therefore, before getting into any B school first become clear what you want. If you want to work in the US, then go for a full-time MBA program from the top 20 colleges only.

Which one should I choose, IIM Kashipur or IIT Madras for an MBA?

HP
Hardik Pandya Posted On : January 13th, 2023
Studied Master of Business Administration Degrees at Indian Institute of Management, Nagpur (Graduated 2022)

Choose IIT Madras for an MBA if you want lower fees and a smaller batch size. However, if you want to be a part of a community that is rich in experience, with a rigorous curriculum and a reputable college, choose IIM Kashipur.

After a few years, people will notice the amount of effort you put in to establish yourself in a competitive corporate environment, better in an IIM than an IIT Madras. You will be sorry that you did not attend an IIM when you had the opportunity. IIMs have a stellar reputation in the MBA field, and there is a reason for this.

You must always choose IIM Kashipur over IIT Madras.

Is it worth pursuing an MBA from IIM Trichy? I am a business consultant making 6LPA now, so worried about the financial results from Tier 2 IIM.

NS
Namita Singh Posted On : January 13th, 2023
PGDM from Indian Institute of Management Visakhapatnam (2018)

Joining an IIM solely to get placed at a high-paying job is not the right perspective. A working professional should pursue an MBA to enhance his skills and acquire extra knowledge. You should be looking for the following in an MBA

  • The new skills you will acquire
  • Understanding of the new tactics of Businesses
  • Learning the art of discipline and other work ethics
  • Bonding with people from diverse cultures and hierarchies.
  • Conducting case studies and broadening your problem solving skills.

Only if you value these aspects can IIM Trichy benefit you in any way. But if you focus just on ROI, it’s high time you target IIM A B and C only.

Are New IIMs (Trichy, Udaipur, Ranchi, Rohtak, Raipur, Kashipur) good for MBA in Finance? If not suggest some B-schools. Really interested in investment banking.

SB
Shrey Banka Posted On : January 10th, 2023
BMS from Shaheed Sukhdev College of Business Studies (Graduated 2022)

Honestly speaking, a career in investment banking should not be considered by the new IIMs. It’s a too ambitious profile to match the relatively new curriculum of these IIMs. Even if you are in a top B School, you will have to remain among the top students to get placed for a front-end role. One can still get roles in corporate & business finance but getting roles in Investment Banking is rather difficult.

Yet if you are not choosing an older IIM and want to choose a newer one, IIM Trichy is the best among them. The order is

IIM Trichy > IIM Udaipur > IIM Ranchi

There are many B Schools apart from IIMs that offer great Investment Banking roles. These include SPJIMR, JBIMS Mumbai, IIFT, and XLRI.

What are my chances of getting into IIMs, XLRI, FMS, IIFT with 92% in 10th, 74% in 12th, and a CGPA of 8.2? What percentile should I aim for?

CS
Chhavi Sethi Posted On : June 28th, 2021
Studied Master of Business Administration Degrees at National Institute of Industrial Engineering

Getting into top B-schools depends on your profile and academic grades as it plays a major role in the marking system in PI. The scores mentioned in the question are good enough and you have a good chance of getting into IIMs, XLRI, FMS, and IIFT.

Moreover, if you are aiming for the top B-schools of the country stop restraining yourself with the thought of what's the minimum percentile. Aim for the full score and try to maximize as much as possible.

Try not to follow the cycle of multiple attempts and increasing a little percentile over the past one just to get in a B-school of your choice. Just Give it one shot but make it your best.

Going by the academics you mentioned, I'd say there's nothing that you can do about it now so stop worrying and focus on your preps. Just give you the best in your attempt and make sure you convert the calls which will eventually land you up in one of the finest top B-schools.

Which specialization of an MBA is good at Jain University?

KG
Koyel Ghosh Posted On : July 7th, 2021
Studied at Amity University, Kolkata (2019)

One of my friends studies at Jain University. According to him, Finance and Marketing are the best. The college is very well known for both specializations. Placements records and current market trends are also currently on these two specializations so go with it.

  • The college has amazing faculties, upgraded case studies, Live Stock market labs/marketing labs.
  • The University also has startup cell exposure.
  • The faculties are always ready to help and all are Ph.D. qualified or on the way of pursuing it.
  • The curriculum is updated from time to time and relevant.
  • You will get proper industry visits, internships, and seminars conducted by top companies like Microsoft, Google, etc.
Categories MBA at Jain University
Course Fee 9.7 lakh
Highest CTC 21-25 LPA
Average CTC 12 LPA
Recruiting Companies Nestle, Tanishq, Asian Paints, CitiBank, etc.

Moreover, I would like to say that all the fields are good at Jain University. It all depends on your interest and choice of field in which you want to build your career path.

Specializations such as Finance, Marketing, and Human Resource are equally good options. If you are determined to pursue your career in any of the fields you will definitely land in a good place.

AJ
Akriti Jain Posted On : September 17th, 2021

A few of my friends graduated from BIMTECH Greater Noida and Gautam Buddha University. If you need to choose between the two, my recommendation will be to seek a PGDM program from BIMTECH. Here’s why.

  • Programs Offered: BIMTECH offers dedicated PGDM programs that are equivalent to an MBA degree. These programs include PGDM in General Management, PGDM in International Business, PGDM in Insurance Business Management, and PGDM in Retail Management.
  • Rankings: BIMTECH is way ahead in ranking with an A+ Grade Accreditation by NAAC (UGC). Gautam Buddha University on the other hand has a B+ grade Accreditation by NAAC.
  • Educational Legacy: BIMTECH has a rich educational legacy spanning over three decades. On the other hand, Gautam Buddha University was established quite recently.

Here are the recent placement highlights for both BIMTECH and Gautam Buddha University.

Parameters  BIMTECH  Gautam Buddha University
