To compare two colleges (especially MBA) the parameters that should be considered - Industry connect; Alumni base; Academic levels; Course Curriculum; and Placements.

With respect to these parameters, NITIE is a great place to be due to the following reasons:

• Being in Mumbai, it gives the opportunity to interact with the companies, their head offices, industries, MSMEs, startups, etc. A batch of students went to the Godrej plant for a visit recently.
• It has a very strong alumni connection of around 6000 across the country and across the globe.
• The faculty members are indulged in a lot of research work and they work as consultants for many of the companies and they often include students in their work as well to provide them practical knowledge of the industry.
• Coming to the placements, NITIE has a placement rate of 100%. The highest package offered at NITIE is 44 LPA and the average package offered is 20.85 LPA

There are many more reputed colleges but NITIE is one of the best colleges for industrial engineering.

I think I can give you an idea about the opportunities that you will receive at NITIE since a have a few friends who graduated from the institute. 

• NITIE Mumbai is a premier b-school under the Ministry of HRD in India. It is famously known as the “Mecca of Operations and Supply Chain Management” in India.
• The alumni base of NITIE is 50+ years old. They work as the lead in many companies across the globe.
• NITIE is located in the financial capital of the country, with many company headquarters within a radius of 10-15 km. Which is beneficial in terms of placements and exposure.
• The faculty members of the operation and supply chain management are of top-notch.
• You will get ample opportunities to take part in various case studies in the area of operations from the first month of the first year itself. In addition to this, you get an opportunity to work on weekend projects under many start-ups.
• Maha Mandi, which is a Socio-Marketing field event, is organized by NITIE every year to provide an experience of Sell in the streets of Mumbai to its students.

These are a few of the opportunities that you will get at NITIE. 

To get admission into NITIE Mumbai, you are required to fill out the online application form available on the official website of the institution. If you get shortlisted for further rounds, you would get an invitation for the Group discussion and Personal Interview rounds. The sessions are usually half a day or a full day long. You can check out your name in the list of the shortlisted applicants to ensure your candidature at the institution. 

The institute has made it mandatory that the students are from a technical background. 

There are two ways you take admission at NITIE. 

• Through GATE, you can apply for PGDIE, PGDMM, and PGDPM programs. 
• Through CAT, you are eligible to apply for the PGDIM and PGDM programs offered by the institution. 

Other than the GATE and CAT examination scores, you will be tested based on the following. 

• Total Work Experience (0 to 4 years is considered to be appropriate for most cases)

I have a few friends who graduated recently from NITIE, so I think I can give you some information regarding the fee structure of the institute. 

• There are two modes of entry in NITIE, i.e. GATE (PGDIE/MM/PM) and CAT (PGDIM/ISM). 
• The Fee structure is different for GATE and CAT qualifying applicants.
• GATE qualifying candidates are charged around INR 12.5 LPA for the MBA program while CAT qualifying applicants are charged nearly INR 14.5 LPA. 

Although the fees I have mentioned are solely meant for Tuition Fees, this doesn't include mess fees which you need to pay separately.

For the General category, the minimum CGPA required to get into NITIE is 6.0 (CGPA 5.5 for other categories). The rest of the evaluation criteria are GATE/ CAT scores and work experience (for freshers, they consider the Final year project) and your performance at GD-PI for the admission process.

I assume that you are talking about international placements. Here are some things you need to know before making a decision. As one of my friends graduated from NITIE, I might be able to answer your question.

• You will get ample opportunities at NITIE to showcase your skills and get the best you deserve during placements.
• Companies like GAP Inc., Tolaram Group, Landmark group, and M.H. Alshaya Group will place you directly onshore
• 2018 batch received a total of 10 international offers from companies like Olam International and Dubai Telecom. 
• Olam International made the highest international placement offer at USD 150,000 per annum.

Placement is the dream for many students. To make it possible you can move ahead with the NITIE Mumbai placement. Even recently, students got placed for massive annual packages exceeding INR 50 LPA. If you have a look at the current pandemic situation, there is a chance to experience the changes, still, the placements have stayed good.

On the other hand, to experience a good number of placements in reputed companies, then NITIE is the best place.

NITIE Mumbai is a tough nut to crack as it is ranked 12th in the NIRF Ranking for Management 2020. It competes among the top IIMs and other B-schools in the country. So, it is a dream college for many.

For the PGDIM and PGDISEM programs, it accepts the CAT percentiles. The details of cut-offs are below.

For the shortlist calls, the institute only considers the minimum eligibility criteria along with the CAT cut-offs. It doesn’t look for academics until the final scores get calculated of the selected candidates.

First of all, it is important to note about NITIE is that it is not an undergraduate School where seats are fixed for different branches. In fact, it is a professional Masters school which is referred to as the Mecca of Supply Chain Management.

One of my friends is enrolled in the PGDIM which is an MBA equivalent course. PGDISEM is also an MBA equivalent course here. It is just like any other MBA college, there is no such quota for any specific branch. You need to clear the selection process that is CAT followed by GD and PI.

Though in NITIE there are few MTech equivalent courses as well such as PGDIE, PGDMM, etc, and it takes admission through GATE.
