How tough is it to get into IIM Indore as I am preparing for IPM?

LK
Lalit Kumar Posted On : January 2nd, 2023
Former MBA student at Indian Institute of Management Indore (2016–2018)

If you want to decide the toughness on the basis of the availability of seats then yes, it indeed is tough to get into IIM Indore. The seats available for the IPM program are 150. So the competition is pretty tough.

But in reality, the majority of the students just are writing the exam casually. Some students even give up after looking at the test structure, difficulty, and other confidence issues. So the ones who are serious about and have seriously prepared for the exam are competing with a much lesser number of students.

IIM Indore makes around 800–850 calls for an interview for IPM, which means one of every 6 good candidates gets a call for an interview. Around the top 180 students get a final offer (main list + waiting list).

So probability-wise you have a good chance of making it into IIM Indore provided that you are self-motivated and well-prepared.

I am so confused about the IPM program offered by IIM Indore. Is it good? What are the perks of being an IIM Indore graduate.

RG
Ritika Gusain Posted On : May 10th, 2023

If you want to work in the management field and pursue a career in management, the IPM program is a fantastic choice for you. IIM Indore was the pioneer of this course which is now being provided by many other IIMs like IIM Bodh Gaya, IIM Rohtak etc. The Integrated Programme in Management (IPM) offered by IIM Indore is a unique and highly regarded program in India that is designed for students who have just completed their 12th standard (or equivalent) and want to pursue a career in management. It is a 5-year program that will provide you with undergraduate and postgraduate degrees.

Apart from the prestigious tag, there are many perks that come with it. The institute has a strong alumni network, which can be a valuable resource for networking and career opportunities. The institute's placement record is also excellent, with many leading companies visiting the campus for recruitment. Additionally, IIM Indore has a strong research focus, and students can participate in various research projects and conferences. So, do not bother much and join IIM-Indore without a doubt, if you have cleared IPMAT and have a call from there. Hope it helps, All the best buddy!

Which one is better for keeping further studies as an option, an IPM at IIM Indore or a B.Stat at ISI?

SM
Sujoy Majumder Posted On : September 3rd, 2021

Both the above-mentioned options are excellent to be considered. The IIMs prepares you to manage people and processes, whereas the ISI prepares you to be excellent quants.

Many IIM graduates work as quantitative analysts, they get the highest-paying jobs. If the ISI course is more appropriate, you could take the Bachelor of Statistics course. Quantitative analysts, on the other hand, tend to wear out soon, due to heavy workload.

An IIM education provides you with a broad perspective on management as well as access to a large alumni network. So, if you want to work your way up the corporate ladder, an IIM would be a better option. At the end of the day, it's up to you to decide where your priorities lie.

Is it good to do a BBA from an open university run by a state government like KSOU and TNOU to get in a better college in the future for studying an MBA?

KS
Krunal Saha, Posted On : October 27th, 2021
Studied at Indian Institute of Management Bangalore (2015)

Joining an MBA college does not usually depend on a student graduating with a regular course or correspondence course. But if you are not from a regular course, you tend to miss a lot of experiences which are only possible in a college atmosphere.

During your interview for admission in an MBA course, you will be asked why you opted for this rather than a regular college. You might have to put some more focus on extracurriculars as they will also come in handy during your selection.

Your selection will only be considered if there are not many students from regular courses applying for MBA. It is a very rare situation, and you should not depend on it.

It is suggested that you go for correspondence BBA or any graduate course. Join the full-time program and get familiar with the classroom environment. Symbiosis or Manipal is recommended for BBA as they are more reputed colleges than state Universities.

What will I study in Humanities in IPM IIM Indore?

AS
Aman Srivastava Posted On : August 30th, 2021
Studies at Indian Institute of Management Indore (2024)

IIM Indore's Integrated Program in Management is a one-of-a-kind program that anyone can opt for, regardless of what you studied in high school. There is no clear differentiation made between the various subjects based on whether they are humanities, commerce, or scientific subjects.

One of my friends is currently enrolled in this program at IIM Indore. As per the knowledge I have gained from her about the program, the following are the subjects that can be considered as Humanities subjects:

  • Sociology
  • Philosophy
  • Psychology
  • Political Science
  • Law
  • Presentation Skills
  • Economics

The courses offered should not be viewed as separate subjects, but rather as a single unit with several interconnected sections.

Which is better for a BBA, AIMS or PES University in Bangalore?

AP
Amit Pandey Posted On : June 19th, 2021
BBA at PES University, 2020

PES University in Bangalore is considered better than AIMS. One of my friends, being a graduate of AIMS itself, widely states that the institute somewhat lacks the basic amenities.

  • AIMS Bangalore, unfortunately, misguides different people by projecting themselves as a premier college. The faculty in the institute is also not the best you could get.
  • AIMS used to be a good institute for pursuing BBA, however, it has only lost its credibility very recently.
  • The college lacks the same facilities and infrastructure which PES greatly has.
  • In fact, PES Bangalore has a top-notch and well-qualified faculty with significant corporate exposure.
  • PES University provides foreign exposure and extracurricular activities, as opposed to AIMS.

Knowing students from both the institutes and on the basis of their experience, the placement stats of either institute, course fee structures, it can be determined that PES University is ahead of AIMS.

Categories

BBA at AIMS

BBA at PES University Bangalore

Course Fee

10-12 LPA

Average CTC

However, you can still run a check on the other options you have around Bangalore since there are better institutes than both of these.

I got 1684 as my merit rank in the NPAT. Can I get admission for a BBA in NMIMS Mumbai?

SG
Sanaya Gupta Posted On : June 15th, 2023
Studied Marketing at Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies, Mumbai (2019)

There are around 500 seats for BBA at NMIMS. To bag a seat at the Mumbai campus, the best and secured rank is below 1000, but there are chances at 1684 rank as well because as the waitlist moves, the students at below ranks shift to a more probable zone. In the past, the trends have shown that even students with 2000-2200 ranks got admission into the BBA course at NMIMS. To secure your rank for the Mumbai campus, you must have to score above 80-85 in the NPAT exam.
