My brother is a recent graduate from Haldia Institute of Technology and as per his experience, there are many things that should not happen at the institute, the way they are happening right now.
These were a few of the aspects about the Haldia Institute of Technology that were considered to be wrong. The institute should work upon these aspects for the betterment of students.
One of my friends completed his B.tech from the Haldia Institute of technology so, it would be easy for me to answer your question.
You can experience a diverse college environment as you will see every type of student on the campus. At the end of the day, it’s on you, how you really want to be and which group really suits you.
The Haldia Institute of Technology is a well-reputed institute in West Bengal. Given the choice, you should go for it. They have a great faculty base. The placement opportunities provided to the students are also good. Core companies such as Johnson control visit the campus placement to recruit from ECE. According to the recent placement highlights the average CTC offered at the institute is 3.5 LPA.
The electrical department has not been doing well in some years now, therefore, it would be advisable to not go for this.
Between Techno and HIT the latter is definitely better. HIT is one of the oldest and finest colleges in West Bengal.
I have heard about the welcoming culture of Haldia Institute Technology from my friend. His first day of college was quite amazing. It usually included allotment of hostel rooms and introduction with roommates.
During your 1st day at the college, an orientation session will be conducted wherein general information will be shared by seniors and faculty. My friend was assigned a mentor who helped him around the campus and took him to the Department.
After 1st day, a usual schedule will begin at the college. You will have regular lectures in the morning and fun activities in the evening. You might feel a little bored with this routine but you will love the campus.
If you have a few concerns regarding the placement of the department of Chemical Engineering, I have mentioned the following details, after researching about it online.
Categories | Chemical Engineering at Haldia Institute of Technology |
Placement Percentage | 70-80% |
Highest CTC | 12 LPA |
Average CTC | 5-6 LPA |
If you refer to the recent data of placements for the Haldia Institute of Technology then you would observe that there are several opportunities available for you especially in the department of Chemical Engineering. All these things would depend upon your capabilities and knowledge about the field of Chemical Engineering.
According to my friends studying at Haldia Institute of Technology, yes there is a uniform code. You may feel a bit disappointed after knowing that you will have to wear a uniform to go to college, but the uniform keeps on changing.
Hence, there is a rule of wearing a uniform to the college for every student. But currently, there are three different uniforms provided to freshers, seniors and 2nd & 3rd-year students. And you will have to wear your assigned uniform every day without any excuses.
Information regarding management quota fees is not disclosed by the institute. However, according to some of my friends who acquired admissions in the institute through it, the fees of management quota are around 2 lacs- 2.5 lacs.
The management quota fees are dependent on your negotiator, agent, consultant too. The above-mentioned amount does not include the hostel fees. It is at the time of college fees payment that the students are required to pay the hostel fees. You should consult with your seniors as they have a better knowledge regarding such matters. Although they would suggest that it would be a waste of money.
If you are interested in software, only then you should take admission at Bangalore. A few esteemed software companies such as Wipro, Infosys, etc. visit for the recruitment process.
The chemical branch at the institute is terrific. You should look into this course once as well. Your decision is concerned with building your career therefore make sure you opt for a course that would not make you have regrets later.
Haldia Institute of Technology is the better choice of the two due to the following reasons.
Infrastructure: (Winning Institution - HIT)
Infrastructure wise Haldia Institute of Technology is better than Techno India.
Academics: (Winning Institution - HIT)
Fees:(Winning Institution - HIT)
HIT charges a total fee of 3.61 lakhs for its 4-year engineering programs. The fee structure is cheaper when compared to other WBUT colleges.
Student Life: (Winning Institution - HIT)
Placements:(HIT~TI)
Placement wise both the college is in par with each other.

HIT has a good student crowd and you will learn a lot from your peers. HIT is the better choice as it has a good diversity of students and helps in shaping a student’s life as a whole. However, you should do your own research to choose one of these two institutes.
Techno India Salt Lake is a better option for CSE. It offers excellent placement for the branch. The placement average for CSE is around 80%. Microsoft, Informatics, Byjus, etc. visit Techno India placement. The average package for CSE is around INR 5-6 LPA. The highest CTC goes up to INR 15-20 LPA.
Well, according to the information I have received from my friends enrolled in both the institutes, I would say that both of these institutes are not that good.
Ensure that you have the appropriate knowledge from the 10+2 education, before applying for admission at colleges. I hope that these suggestions would help you in creating better prospects for your career.
