Should I join IIM Udaipur?
Despite being a new IIM, the institute has a good academic and placement record. Here are the reasons why you should consider IIM Udaipur, for your MBA.
- It has AACSB accreditation. IIM Udaipur is the youngest B-school to get this accreditation in India.

Shortcomings: One major shortcoming in her profile was the one year gap she took post 12th to prepare for her Medical Entrance Exam.

Which IIM is the best (IIM Kashipur, IIM Udaipur or IIM Tiruchirappalli)?
Depending on who you ask, this question has a variety of answers. The majority of the students, faculty, and business representatives you'll come into contact with, however, rank Kashipur last among the three colleges mentioned.
Most people, especially in the south, prefer Trichy over Udaipur when it comes to placements. However, in the past two years, people from Mumbai, Calcutta, and Delhi region have also made this recommendation. - IIM Udaipur is ranked 4th in Research in India in the research ranking by UT Dallas and has overtaken Calcutta which is in the 5th position
In reality IIM Udaipur is an IIM that has an extensive research culture. The rankings are a reflection of how quickly it has climbed the ladder. It is due to its high-quality research that many excellent permanent faculty has become a part of IIM Udaipur. This does not make it the best IIM but still, it is heading toward becoming the best.
Another major attraction of this institute is its impartial nature in every aspect be it placements or admissions. The students are not deceived at any point at all.

- It is not advisable to join any new IIMs unless you are looking to change your domain or are in a particularly difficult situation.
- Do not expect to gain a lot of knowledge or make friends with similar backgrounds at new IIMs, as the student body tends to have mediocre backgrounds and may not be well-informed about industry trends.
- Do not join a new IIM based on the media relations people who promote the institute on Quora, as they may not understand your level or expectations.
For individuals who are not from top colleges and have a salary of less than INR 5-6 lakh per year:
- It may be beneficial to join a new IIM, as it could potentially improve your situation.
- It is generally a good idea to join a new IIM without hesitation, as it may have a significant impact on your life.
For individuals who come from top tier engineering colleges and have made poor decisions in their lives:
- It may be worth considering attending a new IIM if you are willing to endure two years of academic study in order to improve your career prospects.
For entrepreneurs or aspiring entrepreneurs:
- Consider the return on investment before committing to a new IIM. It may not be worth incurring a debt of INR 16 lakh and spending two years with mediocre peers if it is not likely to lead to a good job and a successful career.
