This is only for the external exams.
For internal exams, you need to score more than 30 out of 50. If you happen to have a back in any subject of 100 marks or 50 marks then you will get grace marks of 10 and 5 respectively. However, this accounts for the whole year and not just a single semester.

The degrees of all the courses either graduate or postgraduate in AKTU are distributed during the Convocation Ceremony of the respective colleges. After this, the degrees are sent back to AKTU, Lucknow.

No, NPTEL courses are not compulsory for B.Tech. In AKTU. These courses simply aim at adding qualitative knowledge among the students. In addition, every NPTEL course grants you extra 3 credits. So it can be said that for. B.Tech. student NPTEL courses are highly recommended but not compulsory.
