Which is the best option among these; an MBA at Christ, development studies at TISS, an MBA at ICFAI Hyderabad, or rural management at XIMB?

A
Admin Posted On : May 23rd, 2024

I am a second year MBA student at Christ University Bangalore. I can only tell you about my university.

In all honesty, the campus life of Christ is pretty hectic. The senior students conduct personality development programs for freshers, right after they join the university. After this, the committee selection process starts.

The students have to strike a balance between fest/event management, placements, internships on the one hand, and huge academic load on the other. But with time, they learn to manage everything well.

For MBA students, Christ is known to provide top placements in the Marketing sector. The students receive plenty of placement opportunities in sales, and few opportunities in core marketing, media & advertising, and digital marketing as well.

Christ has a good reputation and a strong alumni network for those who wish to work in the Sales and Marketing sector after their MBA.

Which is better for doing an MSc in multimedia and animation, Chandigarh University or Lovely Professional University?

A
Admin Posted On : May 24th, 2024

I chose Chandigarh University for my MSc in Multimedia and Animation. Therefore, I can only tell you about my university.

CU offers a good curriculum for MSc. in Multimedia and Animation. The course duration is 2 years in total. In this duration, you’ll receive foundational knowledge in the first semester, and the next two semesters will be about intense 3D project-oriented training under industry experts. In the last semester, you’ll get to work on an extensive live project. In the 2nd semester of your degree, you can opt for any one elective out of these four- 3D Animation, VFX, Advertising, and Documentary Filmmaking.

This course is designed to offer appropriate knowledge for a career in the animation & multimedia industry. Through this course at Chandigarh University, you’ll learn about animation design & visual effects and the subsequent application to 3D modelling, character animation, character rigging, texture and lighting, visual effects, etc.

The practical training in this course at CU mirrors the working of professional animation and visual effects houses. You’ll receive this training in state-of-the-art laboratories which have a one-on-one student-to-machine ratio. This training follows global industry standards in animation and visual effects. The software applications used for this course are Adobe Photoshop, Autodesk Maya, Max, Adobe Premiere, After Effects, Z-Brush, Corel Draw and Fusion.

Based on these factors, I can guarantee that you will enjoy learning Multimedia and Animation at Chandigarh University. Thus, I would recommend you choose Chandigarh University over LPU for an MSc in Multimedia and Animation.

Is it worth doing an E MBA from IIM Bangalore? I work as SSE. I make around 50 lakhs per annum, age 32 and I have a B Com.

AJ

Know a few things about MBA

If you measure the worth of a degree by its salary, you will never be satisfied, and I recommend that you do not pursue an MBA. Money is only one of many factors to consider before beginning an MBA program. The salary you have is something that most people do not get even after an MBA/Executive MBA; average salary packages range between Rs. 22 and Rs. 25 lakhs. You are already earning twice as much.

If you want to advance your knowledge of business/strategy/finance/organizational behavior and advance to a higher position where you can have a significant impact, an MBA is unquestionably a good option. However, there is no guarantee that you will earn more than 50 lakhs after completing your EMBA. Go for it if you want to learn and are willing to take a pay cut after your MBA. Don't do it if you're only in it for the money. You could invest in the stock market and watch your money double over time. MBA does not magically transform 50 lakhs into 1 crore.

Which would be better? NMIMS Mumbai BBA or IIM Rohtak IPM (exit after 3rd year with a BBA degree)?

AM
Apoorva Murjani Posted On : January 18th, 2023
IIM Rohtak

IIM Rohtak is better if you want to join IPM there and graduate with a BBA after three years.

A BBA from IIM Rohtak is unquestionably more valuable than a BBA from NMIMS, Mumbai because the course curriculum and pedagogy are superior at IIMs, which use a trimester system rather than the traditional semester system used at NMIMS.

The placements will be similar between the two. However, NMIMS wins because, with only a BBA, you'd have to apply off-campus if you wanted to be placed at IIM Rohtak, as there are no placements for BBA students.

Keeping everything in mind, you should prioritize IIM Rohtak over NMIMS because of the IIM brand and because it is a less expensive option. At the end of the day, you still have the option of pursuing an MBA at IIM Rohtak, which you do not have at NMIMS, and CAT can be quite unpredictable and difficult.

What are the prospects of doing an MBA in tourism and hospitality from IIM Sirmaur? How would it compare with core MBA courses from other private AA and A grade MBA institutes?

SS
Surya Pal Singh Posted On : January 19th, 2023
Programmer Analyst (2021–present)

Both the courses give an edge to each other and cannot be compared. MBA T and HM are specialized courses that should be taken only if you are inclined toward the field. It helps you to establish a career and knowledge of the Tourism and Hospitality industry.

The 2-year MBA flagship course has been standing for more than 2 years and therefore its curriculum cannot be compared to that of these recently launched courses. Some perks of these courses are

  • Become a part of the legacy.
  • Learn how to build everything from scratch by founding or becoming part of clubs and committees.
  • International Job opportunities
  • Himachal is famous for its tourism because of its beautiful landscapes. The tourism sector of Himachal Pradesh contributes 7% to the state GDP.
  • You can contribute to promoting Tourism, increasing its capacities to serve foreigners while remaining settled in your hometown.

So this course is very beneficial for people who have a keen interest in tourism.

Should I join the PGP of IIM Shillong?

VM
Vishad Misra Posted On : January 16th, 2023
IIM Calcutta, 2016-2018

Asking others if you should join a certain program is illogical. I think it’s a decision that you have to take solely yourself. People can guide you in your decision but cannot make the decision on your behalf. That is exactly what I am here for. I will list down the parameters you should consider while making your decision. The rest is up to you.

  • Try looking at other available options at hand. Comparing your options is a good way to decide on your B School.
  • Ask yourself if you are confident enough to drop a year and attempt for CAT again just to try your shot at a better B School.
  • Check whether the domain specialization of IIM, the companies that visit the campus and the roles they offer are in line with your career interests.

Once you are sure about these things, making a good decision will become easier for you.

Which is a better college for MBA (K.J. Somaiya SIMSR in Mumbai, IIITM in Gwalior or IMT in Ghaziabad)?

A
Admin Posted On : July 11th, 2024

As an IITTM Gwalior student, I would say IIITM Gwalior is the best choice amongst K.J. Somaiya SIMSR in Mumbai and IMT Ghaziabad.

  • IIITM Gwalior offers great academic standards for the students alongside preparing them professionally.
  • The highly qualified faculty members help the students with theoretical and practical knowledge.
  • The average fee for a first-year MBA is INR 1.93 Lakhs.
  • The placement records for the institution were great in 2023 with 75% of students being placed.
  • The highest package is INR 8.5 LPA and the average package is INR 7.29 LPA.
  • Some of the top recruiters were Google India, Facebook London, Amazon Ireland, Microsoft, BYJU and more

How is the Post Graduate Program In Management (ePGPx) with IIM Rohtak?

AJ
Arshit Jain Posted On : January 18th, 2023
20+ years of work experience in business school

ePGPX and PGPX are extremely difficult-to-use programs. Most top business schools have experimented with the format, with mixed results. Not everything has gone well for them. The following variables are dependent on the success of the PGPX and ePGPX formats:

  • The minimum number of years in business school is ten. ISB Hyderabad is an exception because they have only focused on the PGPX format of the program since its inception.
  • A very strong alum base thus supports placements because placements in these programs are typically lateral in nature.
  • A very strong faculty base with international or very rich corporate exposure to support the program.
  • A rich and varied corporate immersion program to aid in the successful integration of the program's participants and sponsors (SP JAIN does well here).
  • Then, to top it all off, a robust infrastructure.

For the aforementioned program, you can enroll in any institution that you believe meets the criteria above.

How is the BCA course at the School of Information Technology in IMS Noida?

SM
Shiva Mehta Posted On : March 10th, 2023
MBA Finance, S. P. Jain Institute of Management and Research (1996)

The above answer is based on the reviews of my friends who are alumni of IMS Noida and are successful today. It's a very unbiased review and intends no criticism of the institute.

The primary 3 aspects that are the foundation of any college are its students, teachers, and infrastructure. So I will be writing the review based on these aspects only.

Teachers

There is a big difference between being qualified and being a good teacher. While most of the teachers are highly qualified, only a few are good teachers. Some teachers that genuinely care about the students and try their best to bring good results out of their students are

  • Sudhir Sir and Nancy Maam
  • A very practical Maths teacher Pankaj Sir
  • Very emphatic teacher Rashmi Maam
  • Barshma Maam who organizes cultural events.
  • Apart from these gems most of the teachers are full of ego and lack sympathy. The teachers do not motivate startups, athletes, or extracurricular activities and merely involve themselves in robotic teaching. There is no structured pedagogy and teachers are very lethargic. The syllabus is outdated and all this affects placements largely.

Students

Obviously under the guidance and training of such an average college, the quality of students stoops low. Most of them are lazy and just mug up concepts. But there are a few who want to strive hard but the lack of necessary resources does not let them excel.

Infrastructure

  • The computer labs have very old systems and the speed of the internet is extremely poor.
  • The classrooms lack ventilation and there are no microphones for lectures.
  • The wifi facilities are extremely poor and students hardly have open access despite paying fees for the same
  • The toilets are unhygienic and dirty
  • The library has a good collection of books the only drawback being no reminder system for renewal of books

All these points are genuine and not based on any official data.

How is the IPM of IIM Rohtak? Do you find it on par with IPM IIM Indore?

AS
Abhishek Singhal Posted On : January 10th, 2023
Digital Marketer | IIM Indore

Comparing IIM Indore’s program to IIM Rohtak, there is a simple conclusion- IIM Indore is better than IIM Rohtak in almost every aspect.

Similarly, IIM Indore's IPM course is better in every case scenario. This is because of

  • Older campus
  • Better faculty
  • Better connectivity with the industry
  • Better global image
  • The credibility of the course is far better
  • Better Alumni network
  • Better competition
  • Stronger brand name
  • Better location
  • Better placements

These are some parameters on which IIM Indore has an upper hand over IIM Rohtak. Also IIM Rohtak overall has lost its rankings over the past few years due to various controversies. So it’s best you don’t risk your career and go for IIM Indore instead.
