How would you rate the B.Tech Biotechnology course in NIT Calicut?
Biotechnology is a research-oriented course and getting a job is not easy. If you are looking for a core job after completing B.Tech in Biotechnology, then you may face a struggle. Though the NIT tag will help you a lot in looking for opportunities and it is not completely impossible.

My friend is a student at IIT Patna and shared his side of the story about city life there. Unlike the general misconception, Patna is rather a safe city.
He visited the city frequently to buy basic things and never did he feel unsafe or comfortable during the 4 years of his stay.
The campus of IIT Patna spreads across a massive 500 acres and is beautifully designed. Which is best in NIT Trichy, ECE or EEE?
Electrical and Electronics Engineering (EEE) and Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) are two different branches of engineering. As some of my friends had these courses, I can share some details about them, later analyzing which you can make a decision.
- EEE is concerned with electrical engineering, which encompasses circuits, transformers, electrostatics, magnetics, and other related topics.
- ECE is concerned with the electrical and communication aspects of the subject. Communication is learning a programming language, VLSI, and coding. After CSE, it is the most popular branch among students.
- As a matter of interest, both the ECE and EEE branches are fascinating and demanding.
- Hence, one should choose either of the two based on his or her own personal interests.
- If you don't have a particular interest and want to choose based on placement opportunities, then ECE is recommended.
- It has a scope that is even greater than CSE.
Because CSE is currently at its pinnacle and will almost certainly reach saturation in the next 4 to 5 years. So, at this time, it would be wiser to choose ECE. regardless of the college, whether it is NIT Trichy, NIT Warangal, or any other NITs or IITs in India.
How good is industrial safety engineering from NIT Trichy? Do they have good placements?
One of my friends did the M.Tech Industrial safety engineering from NIT Trichy a few years ago. He along with his entire batch got placed. How is IIT Bhubaneswar Electrical as compared to other new IITs like Mandi, Indore, Hyderabad, Ropar, Gandhinagar, Dhanbad etc.?
Since my cousin used to be a student of IIT Dhanbad, I might be able to give you some facts about the college which might give you a proper insight.
- IIT ISM was formerly known as ISM Dhanbad. It boasted of a rich legacy and an equally rich infrastructure which is not true for the newly established IITs.
- IIT ISM is technically a new IIT but practically it is not.
- Because of the IIT tag, IIT Bhubaneswar and a number of other IITs had a very low opening and closing ranks.
- IIT ISM initially had a high opening and closing rank. Many candidates did not want to join IIT ISM even after cracking JEE.
- Many major companies visited the campus of IIT ISM during placements.
- The salary package has been going up and the number of companies visiting the campus has also been increasing.
- Some of the big names are PSUs namely OIL, MECL, CIL, IOCL, BPCL, ONGC, etc.

Which engineering college in Bangalore has the best placement for students?
Getting placed at a Bangalore engineering college is a great deal for any student. Who is the best faculty at ECED, NIT CALICUT?
At first, the term 'best faculty' is not an extensive classification basis. As we know Electronics and Communication are a vast field of engineering, and here we can classify roughly into Digital and analog domains.
The faculty members have different specializations and some are indeed true masters of their trend.
- For Signal Processing - Dr. G Abhilash – He is the perfect blend of Dedication and discipline redefined. He makes students learn subjects through the blend of excellent lecturing skills as well as practical sessions.
- For Communication - Dr. lillykutty Jacob and Dr. P C Subramanian (Chaos Theory)
- For Semiconductor Physics, VLSI - Dr. Rama Subramanian – He is also very popular among students for his student-friendly nature.
- For Embedded - Lyla B Das – Also the author of some textbooks, she has the industry experience and is also student-friendly.
Dr. Sathi Devi and Dr. Elisabeth Elias are also doing remarkable work in their fields.

Will it be a good choice to choose the chemical branch in LNCT Mains Bhopal?
LNCT Bhopal is without a doubt Madhya Pradesh's most reputable private engineering college. In addition, LNCT is the only engineering college in Bhopal that offers Chemical Engineering among the 65 private engineering institutes. This institution provides appropriate guidance as well as practical analysis.
But Chemical Engineering at the institute does not enjoy the same exposure as branches like CSE or IT. If you want decent placement opportunities then you will have to work for them on your own. In 2021 placement drive Chemical Engineering students from LNCT were recruited by Indian Oil, Tata Chemicals, Reliance Petroleum, etc.
How is the IT branch at IIEST Shibpur? How are the faculty and placements related to IT branch? Is it comparable to CSE here?
IT at IIEST Shibpur can be good but you need to utilize the opportunities you get properly. The infrastructure at the institute is good. Microsoft also recruits students from campus placements. In the past students have bagged good internship opportunities. One of the students was accepted for Google California (Internship). Compared to the CSE, the IT branch is a little behind in terms of salary packages offered. However, this branch has good diversity.
Faculties for CSE and IT branches are comparable and the IT department even has better faculty members for a few of the subjects. The main difference between CSE and IT is that IT is a sandwich branch of CST and Electronics. So, naturally, you will need to study some Electronics subjects too. For Communication Systems, the IT branch does not have decent faculties. Adding to that, the subject is also not that useful for the future. Despite that this subject eats a chunk of the time of IT students.
Another difference is CST introduces important subjects like algorithms in the 2nd year itself. Whereas, IT introduces these topics one year later.
Basically, the essence is the same for the two branches, there are some minor differences in curriculum and lab work. How you do in placements depends on your hard work.
Is Amity University, Noida a better option than KIIT, Bhubaneswar for a B.Tech?
If you are considering Amity University, Noida for Engineering, it is recommended that you do not enroll there. According to students who completed their bachelor's degree in aerospace engineering from there, it's a pathetic place to study. They claim that the quality of teaching is very poor, research is nil, and fees are too high. They highly recommend that you join KIIT, Bhubaneswar for a B.Tech, rather than Amity University, Noida.
Based on their experience, they believe that anyone who recommends Amity is either lying or trying to get a commission from you. Therefore, it's advised that you look into other options and do your research before making a decision on where to pursue your engineering degree.
