Great Lakes Chennai admissions are done on a variety of factors and CMAT scores and work experience alone cannot determine your admission chances. The students are evaluated in a holistic manner on the basis of the following parameters
Your high percentile of 97.78 increases your chances of admission but does not guarantee it.
I will begin by clarifying that ISB is a single Institute with two campuses and not separate institutes. Anyone who has options for ISB and Great Lakes should go for ISB without any second thoughts.
ISB is better than Great Lakes in almost every aspect be it academics, reputation, faculty, research opportunities, and placement. If you don’t believe me, contact the alumni of both and you will realize the difference.
Both SIBM Bangalore and Great Lakes Chennai are equally good when it comes to fees, faculty, and Return Of Investment (ROI).
Though, SIBM Bangalore is the better choice due to the greater number of companies visiting the campus during placement.
The table below gives a brief overview of the two institutes.

Placement (Winner- SIBM Bangalore):
Other highlights:
Therefore, in terms of factors related to exposure and a greater number of companies in placement, SIBM Bangalore is definitely the better choice.
The primary purpose for the establishment of this institute was to further the career of managers already having 3-4 years of work experience. Great Lakes' one-year program has gained popularity because of its strong yet well-structured curriculum that helps people get back to the same domain in which they were working.
That being said if you have worked in the manufacturing sector, Great Lakes will render a plethora of opportunities to upgrade your career in the same domain. Its excellent location in Chennai, the Detroit of Asia attracts the best recruiters some of the major ones being Ashok Leyland, Daimler India, Isuzu, SPIC, Murugappa, TVS, The Amalgamation group etc.
In case you fail to secure any core manufacturing jobs, you will find plentiful opportunities as a consultant in any of the big IT firms.
I think Great Lakes is a better option than IIM Amritsar. The following points support my opinion
Although my opinion is strongly against IIM Amritsar, it’s only because it’s a new IIM. Any older IIM is a better choice than IIT. MBA is all about investment and ROI which is great in the case of older IIMs. I have still seen many people choose Amritsar over IIT just because of the IIM tag. So do what your heart says.
There is hardly any difference between Great Lakes Gurgaon and Chennai campus in terms of education and placements. Key faculty is shared for the campuses. Placement is combined. Facilities, resources, and exposure are also similar on both campuses.
The Great Lakes Gurgaon campus also has some additional benefits as it is located near the corporate hub of Delhi NCR. Students get good exposure to diverse industries such as E-Commerce, Analytics, Internet Business, etc. They also get the chance to do live projects with corporates in NCR.
One can easily get an idea about the placement scenario of any School from the official website. But, these figures are sometimes inflated so you cannot rely on them. The best way is to contact someone who is in the current batch, a recent pass-out, or an alumni. Only they can give you the real picture of the institute.
Great Lakes Chennai PGDM placements are decent and around 90–95% of the batch gets placed. If you are still adamant about looking up the statistics, Great Lakes Chennai placements for the PGDM program have been tabulated below
To decide between IIM Ranchi's PGDM HR program and the Great Lakes PGPM program, consider the following questions:
If your answer to the first question is "Yes" and your answer to the second question is "No," you should consider IIM Ranchi's PGDM HR program. If your answer to the first question is "No" and your answer to the second question is "Yes," you should consider Great Lakes PGPM.
If both answers are "Yes," you should reconsider whether you really want to change careers after 3 years of work experience. If you still want to pursue HR, IIM Ranchi's PGDM HR program would be a good option. If both answers are "No," you should consider Great Lakes PGPM, as it has a better return on investment due to its shorter duration.
Great Lakes Chennai and Gurgaon admissions are done on the basis of a number of factors like
GREAT Lakes Chennai, CMAT Cutoff 2022 for General Category has been mentioned below

GLIM MAT Cutoff 2021 for General Category was 80 percentile. While other institutes have fixed criteria for evaluating the applicants, Great Lakes evaluates every candidate on an overall basis. So yes qualifying the cutoff is crucial but you also need to have a strong overall profile.
The reality is that only a few students got the opportunity to do HR as a major specialization in Great Lakes Chennai. Some students had success as they got reputed positions in big companies. This course requires a minimum of 15 students. The placement support for HR is comparatively low here. If your batchmates are willing to major in HR, then the journey will be easier.
