The Merit list will be prepared on the basis of the marks scored in 10+2 examination and NATA Score/ Aptitude Test conducted by Authority of Central/ State Government (Including JEE Paper- II Aptitude Test in Architecture).

Eligibility Criteria

• The candidate must have passed 10+2 with 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics and also 50% marks in aggregate OR 10+3 Diploma in Any stream recognized by Central, State Governments with minimum 50% marks at the first attempt with Mathematics and English as compulsory subjects.

BNCA is a premier private college for women offering specialized courses majorly in the domain of architecture while BVP is a deemed university that offers a number of courses. The decision regarding the choice of this course rests on certain basic factors mentioned below.

Ranking & Accreditation:

K.L.S Gogte Institute of Technology is an autonomous affiliated Indian engineering college in Belgaum, Karnataka. It has been bestowed with the Excellent Technical Education Institute in Karnataka award at the August 9, 2014, National Karnataka Education Summit. Admission:

KLE Technological University-

• In order to be eligible for admission to B.Arch at KLE Technological University students are required to have a minimum of 50% marks in 10+2 with Mathematics and English as compulsory subjects.

• For admission into B. Arch, students will have to appear for the NATA entrance test and secure at least 40% marks.

KLS GIT Belgaum-

• For BArch, candidates must pass in 2nd PUC or 12th or equivalent with Mathematics as a subject and obtain a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate.

• BArch admission is done through NATA.

BArch from Manipal costs almost 18.5 lakhs for 5 years. There are 40 total seats for BArch at Manipal University.

Course curriculum:

The course work for B.Arch. rigorous and includes various tests, assignments, and exams. Learning methods such as block models, sketches, PBL is employed for teaching.

Placement:

There are not many placement opportunities for B.Arch at Manipal University. But the university has an internship program, in that period of time the students can learn more practical and technical skills in both architecture and design.

• A median salary of 2 LPA is offered to the B.Arch students.

• The major recruiters for architecture students at Manipal are BirlaSoft, Dell, Amazon, Accenture, etc.

Speaking strictly from the placement perspective, the BArch program at Manipal University is average.

B.Arch is one of the favored course offered by Amity University Gwalior and has been awarded as the best private university in Madhya Pradesh. It is approved by UGC and Council of Architecture. The campus has hi-tech labs with latest architectural and designing software.

The fees for the first-year are INR 0.74 lakhs.

• There are no placements for BArch as of now.
• The companies which participate in the recruitment process of Amity University Gwalior are Reliance Industries, TCS, TEK Systems, WIPRO, ZYCUS, SAP Labs, Asian Paints, etc.
• In the year 2018-19, 1030 job opportunities were given from 84 companies.
• The placement percentage was 97.95% with the highest package of INR 7.5 lakhs.

The course is 5-year long but has well-structured curriculum to make the students industry-ready along with sound knowledge of architecture. With various workshop and seminars, students learn various arts like Clay Modelling, POP (Plaster of Paris) Moulds, Model Making, Canvas Painting, Bamboo Workshop, Wall Graffiti etc.

Both universities have their own advantages as well as drawbacks.

NIT Calicut is ranked 3rd in the Architecture Category by the NIRF Rankings 2019. B.Arch. from NIT Calicut costs INR 2.59 lakh. The selection of the program is based on JEE Main rankings. The institute has well-qualified faculties and provides good infrastructure. The department of Architecture at NIT Calicut has 5 laboratories. The placements statistics of 2019 reveals a total of 3 students from the B.Arch program got placement offers out of the 9 students who registered. The average salary offered was 9.08 LPA, whereas the maximum salary offered was 18.24 LPA.

On the other hand, B.Arch. from Lovely Professional University, Punjab costs a total of INR 6.86 lakh. There are ample scholarship opportunities that students can opt for. The scholarships are given based on the LPUNEST (National Entrance and Scholarship test) ranks. The college has good infrastructure and experienced faculty members for Architecture. The students get placements based on their internships. Almost 95% of the students get their internships in the second year of the program. The major recruiters at LPU are Microsoft, Infosys, Amazon India, IBM, Samsung, ICICI Bank, Hindustan Unilever Limited Bosch, etc. The average salary package at LPU is 2 LPA and the highest is 12 LPA.

In a nutshell, both the universities offer great exposure, good placements and provide quality education. Regarding a better choice among the two, LPU seems to have comparatively more satisfactory review from students than NITC.
