How good is BIT Mesra for an MCA?
My friend is pursuing MCA from BIT Mesra and they find it to be an average course academically but definitely a profitable one in the future because of BIT's brand value. BIT ranks #16th on the NIRF rankings but its infrastructure and quality of faculty members cannot be said to be the best.

Here are some points to be noted.
- BIT has turned a bit mercenary with its high fees of about INR 80,000 and the administration disregards the students.
- The placement rate is around 90% and that's one of the best things about BIT. Most of the seniors have been placed with names like Amazon, Hero Motocorp, and Axis Bank at an average pay of INR 4.5-6.7 LPA.
- The mess food is average as well. Almost every year there’s a hike in mess fee.

How good is the MCA course at IIT Roorkee?
The MCA course has been discontinued since 2015 owing to its outdated curriculum. It does not offer an MCA program anymore. The key highlights of the program were
- Curriculum: The coursework and the pedagogy adopted were outdated and needed a lot of improvisation to meet the industry trends.
- Faculty: IIT Roorkee has a shortage of CS faculty in general. The course MCA, although run by the Mathematics department, was an interdisciplinary course that covered various fields. The lack of CS faculty and Math teachers teaching CS was a major drawback of the program.
- Placements: The placement scenario was also decent but since the program is not known among many, the demand is also less. It is the duty of the Central Placement Team to inform companies about the course. Yet, many top firms like MS, Amazon, Directi, Inmobi, Symantec, and Nvidia allowed students to sit for placements.
All in all, this course is not good enough to be chosen over BTech. The only reason some joined this program was to get a taste of the rich college life and opportunities offered at IIT Roorkee. Had this course been running under the CS department with a few updates, it would not have faced such a setback.
What are the average salary package for MCA in DU?
The average package is between 5-7 lacs. In 2017, Amazon offered the highest package of 16 lacs, while many companies offered the lowest package of 4.5 lacs. As a result, if you are an average student, you will have plenty of opportunities to demonstrate your worth.
DU MCA has 46 seats in total, and classes are held in the department itself. When compared to the rest of Delhi University, only the North campus provides it.

You will have to do a lot of self-study as well but many seniors conduct classes on competitive programming and other subjects. Students tend to clear their doubts and understand the basics better in these classes and the seniors are very helpful.
Even as a first-year MCA student at NIT Trichy you won't feel lonely or lost for a second as the seniors offer constant assistance in the form of notes, papers, questions, and anything related to it. Some helpful seniors even conduct mock interviews for second-year or first-year students. However, you need to maintain good relations with your seniors in order to seek help from them. Ultimately, the seniors will only guide you and you alone have to climb the success ladder.

How is MANIT Bhopal for MCA?
As a student of MCA at MANIT Bhopal, here is my experience of this college-
From the point of view of an MCA student, this college has nothing special to offer. It is just a normal college. The classes and labs are decent, and the faculty is average. Only a few of the teachers are worthy of admiration. Do not expect much from the faculty.
The hostel facilities aren’t top notch for boys. However, a hostel has been functioning exclusively for PG boys since 2019. For girls, the hostel facilities are decent. There is a lack of friendly interactions among students for different courses.
The placements are decent for MCA. With average technical, and excellent communication skills, you’ll get an offer for sure. But to get placed, you must have secured 60-65% in your 10th, 12th, UG and PG. If you do not fulfill this requirement, your possibility of getting placed will be very low.
Bhopal is very beautiful and enchanting. You’ll learn a lot at MANIT, and these experiences will help you throughout your life.
How is VELS University Chennai for an MCA?
Doing an MCA from Vels University will not be worth it. The college will add nothing to your professional career and the degree will become just another degree which I do not think should be your intention especially when going for a master’s degree.
Following are a few points I would like to mention –
- Infrastructure: The campus is very small and you can literally cover the whole campus within a few minutes. You will not enjoy good campus life.
- Education: There are some extremely talented and experienced teachers. However, very few can guide you properly towards your goal properly.
- Placement: This is one of the biggest disappointments as not even 10 companies visit the campus even though they claim a 100% placement record.
- Location: It is located at Pallavaram and it is still close to the bus and railway stations. So this is one of the few things I like about the college.
- Sports: The football team of the university regularly win trophies at various tournaments.
If you are still convinced about joining this college then go ahead but I would certainly not suggest you for the same.
