How do I write IGNOU assignments?

TB
Tushar Babbar Posted On : October 17th, 2022
MA in Public Administration, Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU)

Below are the tips that you can follow while writing assignments:

  • Copying ready-made assignments aren't worth it because the answers aren't always correct. So, if you want to copy, think about it first.

  • To write assignments, you can use either rule sheets or A4 size sheets. Because assignments must be written by hand.

  • Before beginning to write assignments, go over the questions and try to find answers in textbooks. You're likely to get the majority of your answers from them.

  • Use online resources because some topics are better explained in online resources than in textbooks.

  • Leave some space before writing the next question if you're writing in continuation. Alternatively, you can begin a new answer on a new page. It will leave no room for uncertainty or ignorance.

  • If the question asks for an explanation, include the conclusion in your response under the heading "Conclusion."

  • Highlight key lines or points in your responses.

  • If you're a working professional taking an IGNOU course, set a goal of writing one answer per day. This allows you to write assignments quickly and without feeling rushed. It is preferable if you can write a couple of answers per day. It will assist you in avoiding a last-minute run.

  • On the cover page, include page numbers and the total number of pages for an assignment. If the officials misplace a couple of pages, it is their responsibility, and you will benefit from it.

  • Complete assignments correctly. The sheets must be properly stapled. Also, submit it in a report file rather than a stick file to avoid misplacement by officials.

Writing assignments on your own helps you prepare for exams. Because it forces you to study the topics in a subject and provides you with an understanding of the topics. So, rather than asking someone else to write it for you, try writing it yourself.

What can be done to crack the JEE (Advanced) and get into IIT-Bombay?

SB
Sumit Bose Posted On : March 18th, 2023
IIT Bombay (2019)

Don’t be fixed upon a certain agenda and keep your options open. If you will restrict yourself in such a way you might limit your options as well as the capacity to give your best.

Instead, I suggest that you try to analyze why exactly you want to pursue Engineering. Is it because of the sheep mentality or do you really want to build things?

Once you are sure, then figure out how exactly you will be achieving this goal. Set achievable goals for yourself and work sincerely on fulfilling them. Reward yourself for very little achievement on the way. This will gradually increase your confidence and pave the way to achieve much more.

However, a very important thing is to dream but not demand. That is you should be passionate about a certain thing but not fixated on it too much to the extent that if you fail to achieve it, you lose much more. So you can desire to pursue BTech in CSE at IIT Bombay but leave room for other options as well.

Don’t stress yourself out too much and just concentrate on the present, your future will be visible sooner or later.

How do I prepare for GATE 2021?

SD
Surbhi Dey Posted On : January 8th, 2021
B.Tech Mechanical Engineering, 2019, Indian Institute of Technology, New Delhi

GATE is one of the most important stepping stones in every student’s life. To qualify and get a rank below 100, one must follow a rigorous preparation schedule. It is common knowledge that one must start preparing for GATE at least 6 months prior to the day of examination. It is better to follow one subject at a time and prepare the subject thoroughly.

Preparation Strategy:

One of my friends secured a rank under AIR 30 in GATE CS 2020.

Here are some of the strategies he used during preparation that worked for him

Source of Strategies:

  • GateOverFlow: Includes strategies, pdfs, test series, gate questions with answers, doubt clearing section.
  • GateCSE: Includes everything related to preparation, syllabus, books, admission, cutoffs, college reviews, etc.
  • Interview by Ravi Shankar Mishra: Includes a list of books and main chapters to focus on.
  • Gate Information Brochure

A few useful tips for preparation is as follows.

Revision:

  • Regularly revise concepts with tests.

  • Prepare notes for each subject.
  • Start with the complete revision from at least three months before the exam.

Question papers and Test Series:

  • Question papers should be left for solving after the preparation of a topic.

  • Solving test series questions within a stipulated time will help in increasing efficiency.
  • Does not matter how many marks you score, jolt down the answers, and correct the mistakes.
  • Give at least 20 tests so that the preparation is solid.

During his final year of BE, my friend started preparing for GATE. After finishing college he opted for coaching. You can do the same or study on your own if you have the self-discipline that GATE preparation requires.

Miscellaneous tips:

  • Prepare well for the aptitude section, it is scoring.
  • Make your basic concepts clear. Clear concepts about a topic minimize the chances of getting an answer wrong.
  • Do not make mistakes in calculation.
  • Do not skip a subject entirely. At least study the basics.

Preparation right before GATE:

  • A week before GATE, concentrate on staying healthy and getting enough sleep. Go through the mistakes you made during mock-tests and short-notes on topics that you have a tendency to forget.

  • On the day before the GATE examination, do not study anything and try to go to bed early.
  • On the day of the GATE examination, revise the short-notes if you have time in the morning. Reach the examination center in advance.

Hope this was helpful. Best of luck with your examination.

What should I study to clear NIMHANS entrance exam for M.Phil. in clinical psychology?

DS
Deeksha Seth, Posted On : September 30th, 2023
studied at National Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences (2017)

In order to clear the NIMHANS entrance exam for M.Phil. In clinical psychology, you should be thorough in the basics of the syllabus prescribed for a PG in psychology. Consider studying topics like cognitive psychology, Biological basis of behavior, abnormal psychology, social psychology, and research methodology.

In reality, clearing the MPhil entrance is just a small step of the whole process. You should be mentally strong enough and have the ability to report to different people and tolerate their valid criticism. You will have to learn to work together with people from different disciplines, develop a passion for your patients, and spend long working hours including Saturdays. The bright side is, that you will be working with some of the highly intellectual people who will guide you to manage both academics and clinical work.

I am sure, eventually, you will realize that all the efforts were worth the result!

How should I prepare for IIT Gandhinagar MSc Cognitive Science written test? How many sections are asked in the test?

SM
Subhashree Mukherjee Posted On : March 17th, 2021
Ph.D. at Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur (2018)

My brother appeared in the written test for MSc Cognitive Sciences in February 2020. So, I can give you some insight about the same.

The written test analyses your comprehensive skills i.e. the ability to implement the things you read. The section will contain comprehension questions. It will also include some of the paragraphs or questions based on the Cognitive Science Journals.

Examination Pattern:

The written test is the same for everyone.

  • It contains 4 questions of comprehensive type and 1 of data interpretation.
  • The total marks for the examination are 25 and the duration is 1 hour.

Preparation Tips:

  • For preparation, you can simply take some random comprehensive type question off the internet and solve it.
  • In his examination, my brother had passages from pathophysiology of neurodegenerative disorders, case-studies on behavioral experiments using VR/AR, etc.
  • The questions are designed in a way that everyone can interpret them.

Be patient and stay motivated. All the best for your exam.

What are some tips for scoring high marks in VTU?

DM
Deeksha Mukharjee Posted On : April 25th, 2022
studied at Visvesvaraya Technological University

The trick for scoring well in VTU is simple. You should choose 5 units and go through them thoroughly. Don’t skip any topics from these units. You can keep the last unit optional. Solve the previous 5 years' questions. However, don’t rely on these papers alone.

Take all three internals and don’t take the third internal lightly. It will prepare you for the external. Try to score well in practicals. In the examination, present your answer in an effective way.

What is the preparation strategy of AIIMS Delhi?

AB
Akriti Banerjee Posted On : July 17th, 2023
lives in New Delhi

The best way is not to set any targets because when you do, you are limiting yourself to a certain extent. You may or may not achieve your target. But if you don’t set one, you can aim for the sky. AIIMS Delhi was the dream college of one of my friends who had literally no chance of making it into it. The only mantra he followed was not to expect yourself to perform to a particular or specific level, but rather give it your all. As for the preparation strategy, here is what he shared

  • Practice Assertion Reason questions: This section is often underestimated when in reality it is a major rank-determining factor.
  • Attend assertion reason questions in the beginning: Some might find it weird, but he chose to solve Assertion Reason before the exams as they required a fresh mind which would not have been possible after exams.
  • Don’t forget the negative marks:  The negative marking might affect your overall performance drastically so beware of it.
  • Always stay patient: Don't panic even if you find the question paper to be very challenging as you will forget whatever you have studied.

Hope you score well!

Where can I find free-solved assignments for IGNOU?

KT
Karan Takkar Posted On : October 17th, 2022
M.A ECO from Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU)

You can simply Google "free solved assignments" to find them. However, there is a catch. If you are enrolled in the January session, you may be able to find most assignments for free online. The assignments for the July session and the January session of the following year are the same at IGNOU. So your chances of finding them for free are good. However, if you are enrolled in the July session, you may not be able to find solved assignments online/offline for free.

However, you will find 99% of the assignment solutions in your IGNOU study material and exactly how you should do it. It will give you a good understanding of the subject. Ignore questions from previous years' papers and current assignments in TEE. You should complete your assignments on your own because it will undoubtedly help you in your TEE.
