If you are interested in pursuing a degree in human resources management from one of the top B schools in India, you may want to consider SCMHRD. This institute is known for its strong reputation in the field of HR and can provide you with the skills and knowledge necessary to succeed in this competitive industry. On the other hand, if you are primarily interested in obtaining an IIM degree, then IIM Ranchi may be a good option for you. While IIM Ranchi is considered to be one of the best among the newer IIMs, it may not have the same level of prestige or reputation as some of the more established institutes.
If your primary goal is to increase your chances of being placed in a top company and obtaining a high salary package in the field of HR, then SCMHRD may be a more suitable choice. It is important to carefully consider your goals and priorities before making a decision on which business school to attend.
IIM Ranchi has Sectional as well as Overall cutoff. The cutoff for 1st Stage of Shortlisting is decided by the Candidate’s Valid Scores in the CAT Examination. While for the Final Selection, CAT Percentile, Performance in Personal Interviews followed by Academic & Gender Diversity is considered.
There is a huge weightage on work experience. This is because I have seen instances where freshers were rejected despite a 99 percentile while people with experience of 2-3 years were selected despite 90-93 percentile.
To answer your question in better terms I will rate the colleges based on parameters such as placements, curriculum, and alumni base.
Compared to the older IIMs it is not very good but compared to the newer IIMs it is way better. Its USP is its location in an Industrially rich belt that increases your chances of having an excellent career in Management.
Now if we compare it to the other B Schools, it ranks lower than FMS, XLRI, SP Jain, MDI and JBIMS but higher than IMT, IMI, Fore, XU, GIM, etc. It is better than these B Schools because of the IIM brand.
This program is best for people who want to enter the field of teaching and academics.
One of my friends is studying at XLRI. To her, there is no difference or classification of the amount of international exposure or on-site opportunities, based on specializations. The points below provide a clear picture of the modes of international exposure that students of XLRI receive during their course and afterward.
Therefore, specialization is not the mode of distinguishing chances for on-site opportunities, and the factor is entirely based on the company’s business requirements.
It's incredible! The greatest professors, the best surroundings, and, well, the best of everything are yours. I'll provide you with some advice:
The best in Asia Pacific, resulting in exposure to the top professors
A well-focused curriculum that enables students to understand every area of the topic and build a knowledge base
The most effective HR placements
A great deal of fieldwork combined with a theoretical understanding of people and behavior
Numerous panels only considered HR issues
Field tours and seminar exposure are two additional advantages of attending a top business school that is shared by all other schools.
In addition to these, XLRI itself provides a lot. So go ahead; you'll appreciate it.
Both programs have their own merits and demerits. Yet I am here to talk about XAHR’s MBA-HRM only. I will further list down some points in favor of my inclination toward this program particularly.
All these features make the XAHR’s MBA-HRM program one of the most coveted courses in this field.
It is not a question about whether or not BM is bad, and HR is good. XLRI is more known for HR because it has stuck with the brand. The brand XLRI primarily had an established legacy in Industrial Relations (IR). Which later converted into HR. XLRI established its reputation as an IR concentrated institution following the Independence of the country.
BM, on the other hand, was inaugurated only afterward alongside older IIMs. This has somehow resulted in leading to the XLRI brand getting generally and mostly associated with HR, and not BM. It’s rare to find any industry or top-tier companies in the country where the top HR personnel is not from XLRI.
Now when talking about BM at XLRI, there is definitely a strong and successful alumni base from BM in the industrial sector. In fact, for further recruitments, alumni of XLRI get placed in McK, BCG, and several more from the BM sector.
One of my students passed out of XLRI recently. Let me share his experiences after graduating from this institute. He claims it is one of the finest B-schools in India. It is popular for its Human Resource Management program.
There are few points you should keep in mind while choosing a career path after doing an MBA from XLRI.
These are huge responsibilities after becoming an HR professional. You must be calm and try to understand everything and boost the morale of the people of your firm.
