Yes, there are many hotel management courses offered by LPU at different levels. The School of Hotel Management and Tourism (SOHMT) is one of the leading hospitality education institutes in India. It is certified by the Federation of Hotel Restaurant Association of India (FHRAI). The university offers bachelor’s, master’s and PhD programs in hotel management. The university also provides lateral entry to its BSC and BHMCT courses. 

The School of Hotel Management and Tourism (SOHMT) boast a strong placement record and many of my friends have received excellent job offers through the campus drive. It has industry tie-ups with premier institutions like Radisson, CBL, GEM, AIESEC and more. More than 60 recruiters visit the campus every year for placement. The average package for the top 10% of students was INR 7.20 Lakhs with the highest salary being INR 32 Lakhs.

• LPU provides students with modern research facilities, labs and a good infrastructure in all disciplines such as engineering, science, technology, management and humanities. All the schools are well equipped and helped me with my PhD degree.
• As research students at LPU we can do interdisciplinary research, go for industrial collaboration and visits, take part in projects, and attend conferences, seminars, workshops and publications.
• LPU also offers financial support in terms of scholarships to support the students. 
• LPU has a good overall ranking and is one of the top 50 universities overall in India as per NIRF

LPU hostel facilities are designed to provide students with a comfortable living environment. The university has 17 multi-story hostel buildings. Each hostel has its own dedicated warden and maintenance staff. Some of the top facilities that are provided to students in the LPU hostel include furnished rooms, laundry services, internet connectivity, water purifier, ambulance service, CCTV support and more. There are also many tuck shops and eating joints within the hostel premises for students at walking distance. The university also provides in-house mentor support for after-hours guidance. 

Apart from the facilities, students have to adhere to the LPU hostel norms and regulations for their security and safety. Students have to follow the hostel timings otherwise a call can be given to the student’s parents if they fail to show up on time. Application is required for night outs and attendance takes place in the evenings when students are required to be present in their rooms.

As a PhD Scholar from LPU, I would recommend studying law from here. The university’s law department has emerged as a pioneering institution in recent years. It is ranked at the 16th spot by NIRF in the law category in 2023.

The university also features two moot courts to provide students with a court-like environment for practising, showcasing LPU’s dedication to providing students with the best facilities. Further, the law courses at LPU are recognised by the Bar Council of India. Career Guidance Magazine and Higher Education Review have also recognised the law school as one of the ten most promising institutions in India. It has also signed an MOU with NLSIU Bangalore for various programs. The law school also boast an excellent placement record with top companies like Tech Mahindra, Awareness Attorneys, Decathlon and more visiting the campus. The highest recorded salary package during the 2023 campus placement was INR 9 LPA. 

I completed my degree from LPU in 2023. Talking about the holidays, the university provides students with a good number of off days throughout the semester year. Students are provided Saturdays and Sundays off with only 5 days of classes and practicals. 

At the end of the odd semester, students are given off for 10-15 days and when the even semester ends, 2 months are given off to students. Candidates can also expect holidays on major festivals like Independence Day, Republic Day and others.

Students can also apply for hostel leave when they are out of the campus through the University Management System (UMS).

The University follows an up-to-date curriculum, which is in line with the modern industry standards. For MBA, it has tie-ups with industry leaders like KPMG, IBM, NSE, and others.

Many renowned personalities from various fields have visited the LPU campus in the past. Some of them are- The Hon’ble Prime Minister of India- Shri Narendra Modi, Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan, and Ayushmann Khurrana among others. 

5. Hosting important events like ISC (Indian Science Congress)-

The huge campus and top infrastructure of LPU allows it to host important seminars and conferences. The university hosted the 106th Indian Science Congress in 2019, which was inaugurated by the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi.

I have completed my BTech in Mechanical from LPU in 2021. The few things that worked for me and proved that LPU was a great choice included reasons like placements, syllabus, faculty, ranking, accreditations and more. It is easy to find employment as well through campus placements which makes it a good choice. Several top companies visit LPU during the placement season. During my placements, tech giants such as TCS, IBM, Google, Amazon, Microsoft, etc offered job opportunities to us. LPU also collaborates with companies to offer hands-on training and projects to focus on the practical aspect of studies. The collaborations also helped us to secure job placements as mechanical engineering graduates.
