Is BITS Pilani’ zero attendance policy really true?

DH
Damini Hedge Posted On : July 3rd, 2023
Studied at Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani (2021)

Yes, I confirmed it with a friend and it appears that the zero attendance policy at BITS Pilani is true. My friend claimed that this policy helped her in many ways. She tried attending classes initially but failed to do so as she found them to be boring and monotonous. She however attended the lab sessions and some physics classes which she found to be very intriguing.

The only disadvantage she faced was the surprise tests which she would often miss because of not attending classes. The simple solution for this is to ask one of your friends who attends classes to inform you if they feel the professor is about to conduct tests. But some professors still did not let her give these tests so she had to solely rely on her mid-semester and final exams.

Overall, she has no regrets for skipping classes as she feels she did quite well even without them and also saved a lot of time in the process.

With a 30,000 rank which NIT can I get?

IT
Ishaan Thakkar Posted On : May 20th, 2021
ECE at NIT Rourkela (2018)

With a rank of 30,000, there is a fair chance of you getting into NIT Rourkela, most probably in a dual degree or an integrated M Sc course. Whereas out of the top 10-15, you can get a chance of getting a seat in Biotechnology or textile or production is possible.

Also, if you have a category rank of 30,000, I'm not sure if you can expect anything. This rank can also fetch you a good branch in the Northeastern NITs or in the NIT in your home state which is not likely if you are from Telangana. And maybe Andhra Pradesh's new NIT too. So you can look for that.

How can I get in AIIMS Delhi?

VM
Vedant Mishra Posted On : June 7th, 2023
MBBS from All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi

AIIMS Delhi admissions are now based on the NEET examination. The examination now tests a candidate’s accuracy and speed more than his mental abilities.

  • Stick to NCERT and do not leave any details untouched
  • Read in-between the lines
  • Use one reference book or one coaching module. In case you find any topic difficult, refer to the reference book or coaching module
  • Practice your speed
  • You need to have a good command of the language in which you will be giving your exam. This will enable you to understand what the question demands from you
  • If you have 6 months for your preparation, use 5 months to study, and the remaining one month to revise and practice mock tests
  • Take as many mock tests as you can to clear your exam with the required rank. Take at least 10 mock tests.
  • If your memorizing skills are good, give more time to Organic Chemistry, Physical Chemistry, and Physics
  • If your logical skills are good, give more priority to Biology and Inorganic Chemistry
  • Refer to your Physics manual and, for problems, practice using D.C. Pandey and for theory refer to H.C. Verma
  • 10-14 hours per day of dedicated preparation will get you through
  • Stay hydrated, Keep a healthy sleep routine, and exercise

You must follow these basic practices and make sure to prepare with dedication and honesty to secure a position at AIIMS Delhi. Although the competition is high, with the proper routine you will be able to achieve a high enough rank to get into AIIMS Delhi.

Which one should I choose: IIT Jodhpur, IIT Ropar CSE or IIT BHU Electrical?

RT
Raktim Tarafdar Posted On : July 15th, 2023

All three of the Indian Institutes of Technology you mentioned are well-respected institutions with strong programs in engineering.

All the aforementioned institutes are at similar levels and will give you the IIT tag. So the final decision depends on your priorities more than anything.

  • If you value the branch more than the college then the preference order should be IITRPR>IITJ>IITBHU
  • If you value the brand name of the college more than the branch then the preference order would be IIT BHU>IITRPR>IITJ

Without any doubt, IIT BHU is older and has a stronger brand value but it depends on which branch you will be getting. Ultimately, the best decision will depend on your personal preferences and goals.

How will be my daughter's life at AFMC Pune?

TD
Tezal Dahiya Posted On : September 22nd, 2023

To start, girls are very safe at AFMC Pune. The administration is very supportive of females. Here are a few things your daughter can expect from AFMC-

  1. AFMC Pune allows mobile phones, and the students are provided with a sim of Maharashtra. You can call your daughter anytime you want, and vice versa.
  2. She’ll get a vacation twice a year, for 15 days each time. But she’ll love AFMC so much that even these 15 days will seem like a lot.
  3. The hostel washrooms are cleaned every day, and provided with basic facilities like tissues, geysers, etc.
  4. The uniform consists of a shirt, tie, and trousers of light brown color. She will get two sets of it, along with one full-sleeve set, a blazer, and a sweater. The laundry person visits twice a week to wash and iron the uniform.
  5. She’ll get a lot of voluntary tours and outings. There are events around Pune about twice every week, and she can attend independently or on behalf of the college. After the first 6 months, she can go for outings by herself, without any restrictions.
  6. With a good NEET score and a command of Maths and English, she’ll get into AFMC. But the interview matters the most. If she is confident and expressive, the interview will go well too. As far as medical is concerned, she shouldn't be obese or suffering from a serious medical abnormality.
  7. Morning PT stops after the third term (1.5 years). NCC drill also continues for the same time. PT will make her active and inculcate the habit of waking up early.

It is great that your daughter plans to join AFMC. She will love her journey throughout.

Is SSCBS really the best undergraduate business school in India? Is it popular in IIM Ahmedabad because outside Delhi no one knows about it?

AA
Abdul Ahad Posted On : November 22nd, 2022
MBA from Indian Institute of Management Kozhikode (Graduated 2016)

SSCBS is one of the best undergraduate schools in India. Some amazing facts about this school are:

  1. SSCBS has been ranked as second best undergraduate management college in Asia

  2. SSCBS is the youngest institution in its own league

  3. SSCBS is a state-funded college (DU) so the fees are affordable

  4. SSCBS is the only college in India that offers BFIA/ BBA(FIA). It is now planning to offer a specialized course in financial mathematics in the coming years.

  5. SSCBS has a small batch size so it’s fully dedicated to its students.

So it does not matter that SSCBS is not famous outside Delhi. What matters is that it is a great college.

Is NIT Trichy CSE good?

RT
Raktim Tarafdar Posted On : July 20th, 2023

The CSE department of NIT Trichy, one of the top NITs second only to the old IITs is indeed a well-regarded branch that has excellent education and placement records. I would say joining this without any doubt will do you no harm. Here is why I consider this branch to be highly regarded

  • The infrastructure is state-of-the-art with great lab facilities.
  • The campus and accommodation facilities offered to NIT Trichy students are one of a kind.
  • Students get to showcase their talents through several platforms
  • The exposure and opportunities offered are excellent, helping to develop your personality as a whole.
  • The student crowd is diverse, improving the overall learning experience.
  • The placements as usual are the best

The CSE curriculum is pretty easy and gives you enough time to explore other passions.

Ultimately, NIT Trichy CSE is a great option if you are someone who has no specific interests and is considering engineering as a safe option for your career.

B.Ed from Banaras Hindu University

IIT BHU and Banaras Hindu University are different institutes, though they share the same campus. The administration, management, and admission process everything is different for the institutes. Before becoming an IIT, IIT BHU used to be part of BHU. Now both are independent institutions. Like all IITs, IIT BHU is autonomous and makes its own decision regarding everything.

  • But the main branch LNCT Bhopal that was established in 1993 is the place where everything blossomed. It still stands on the top among a lot of colleges.
  • Laxmi Narain College of Technology (LNCT) offers all types of technical and engineering courses.
Categories LNCT Bhopal
