As a former student of B.Tech IT at LPU, I can only provide information about my own college. Here are a few benefits of joining LPU for your B.Tech IT-
These are some of the many reasons I chose LPU for my B.Tech IT.
One of my friends studied at Heritage Institute of Technology. Here are some things I got to know from him, which might help you sort your priorities in the 1st year of your college.
Therefore, keep these points in mind before delving into different things. Enjoy your college life, but also side by side prepare to improve yourself both academically and personally.
NIT Rourkela's newly launched branch Food Processing has a wide scope for development and research and its worth cannot simply be judged through its placements. It caters to the ones interested in the production and processing of food and maintaining its quality.
The branch covers all arenas of food marketing from developing food and machines to keeping the food safe. It comprises concepts from various other branches too like mechanical engineering, chemical engineering, and Food Science and Engineering.
As there is growth and development in India with respect to Food and Beverage Processing, there has opened up a gate for great research and job opportunities, as well, in the near future or I would say it has already started.
I asked a friend about the placement scenario of the branch and he told me that around 80-85% of students are placed. The highest salary package offered is 17 LPA. Most of the students receive internship opportunities while some prefer going to top foreign universities to pursue higher studies or research.
Some of the core companies visiting the campus for placement are Milk Mantra, IDMC, Tetra Pak, etc. Some of the non-core companies visiting the campus for placement are ZS Associates, TCS, EXL Services, Tredence, Affine Analytics, etc.
Other programs that students of this branch end up going to include Management programs in IIM-A, XIMB, NIBM, BITS Pilani, and direct Ph.D. in foreign universities. Some even go for M.Tech Program in NIFTEM.
So, the B.Tech program in Food Process Engineering is a great choice for interested students considering its increasing demand and scope.
As of now, there are many reputed colleges and institutes in India offering B.Sc./B.Tech Biotechnology. Here is a list of some of the most reputed colleges for Biotech in India.

VIT University |
SRM University |
Lovely Professional University |
Maharshi Dayanand University |
Thapar University |
Banasthali University |

Apart from these institutes, Chandigarh University is also a pretty good option. I heard good things about the course from some of my friends who are pursuing it currently.
Here are some of the reasons why Chandigarh university is a worthy choice for pursuing a degree in Biotechnology.
Hope the above information helps you in choosing an institute.
One of my close friends is pursuing EXE from IIIT Hyderabad and was all praise for the institute. She had come with zero expectations and the institute as well as the branch impressed her.
NIT Trichy has an advantage of a bigger campus and more experienced faculty. So, NIT Trichy is a good choice if you want a great campus life along with studies but if you want to focus on academics only then IIIT Hyderabad is the place for you.
The choice of the branch is more important than choosing the institute because it determines and shapes your career. If you are interested in working in a PSU or have an interest in Electronics, choose ECE but if you have no such inclinations choose CS, the most diverse field. There are two main differences between IIITs and NITs
Based on the placement scenario and the academics, here is the preference order I would suggest you follow while making your choice
NIT Jalandhar CSE>IIIT Jabalpur CSE>NIT Raipur CSE>NIT Kurukshetra ECE>NIT Hamirpur ECE> NIT Jamshedpur ECE
It's important to note that this preference order is not based on any official data and is based on my own opinion only.
If you look beyond the IIT tag lens, you will realize NIT Trichy is actually a great institute with excellent opportunities. The institute does well in providing both placement and higher education opportunities. Some other things that make it a good choice are
NIT Trichy might not have the IIT tag but it certainly has something that even the new IITs do not, a well organized and student-friendly management!
A good friend of mine has pursued EEE in UIET from Chandigarh. I reached out to him to catch up with some details and the latest facts.
If you are wanting to go for IT/CSE- UIET, Chandigarh is a great choice. But if you want to pursue EEE at UIET, then it is not a good choice. If we talk about the placement scenario over there, barely one or two core companies show up for that. A bunch of candidates ends up getting placed in the IT sector- which isn't worth it.
Here are the recent placement statistics for the EEE branch at UIET.
Average CTC |
6.5 LPA |
Highest CTC |
28 LPA |
Opting for any other engineering college would be a better choice if you want to go for EEE. But then, if you have decided to strictly adhere to UIET, perhaps check out other branches like Chemical Engineering, CSE as they come along with a fine set of faculty and better placement stats.
It would be suggested to pursue Engineering Physics at IIT Bombay rather than Electrical Engineering at IIT Roorkee.
When it comes to studying physics at IITB, there are some key differences between JEE physics and college-level physics. Here are some important points to keep in mind:
Finally, the "brand" of IITs, especially IIT Bombay, provides a sense of job security that can be reassuring for graduates.
IT at IIIT Allahabad is better. In all aspects such as academics, placements, exposure, etc. It is well ahead of NIT Jamshedpur.
According to the recent highlights of IIIT Allahabad placements, the average package offered to IT students is around INR 21 LPA. Many top-tier companies take part in the placement drive. Google, Microsoft, Directi, De Shaw, Goldman Sachs, etc. are some of the major recruiters that take part in the placement drive.
