The MBA curriculum at IBS Hyderabad is heavily focused on case studies. The academic department designs these case studies to help students improve their decision-making and interpretation skills. The case studies are distributed to students every week, and they are considered to be an interactive and comprehensive learning tool, combining both objective and subjective data to give a thorough understanding of the concepts.

You will find that your day is filled with back-to-back lectures, presentations, case study discussions, guest lectures by prominent speakers, and other skill development activities. Which B school is better in placement offers as per job roles, IFIM Bangalore, IMI Bhubaneswar, or Kolkata or ICFAI IBS Hyderabad or Mumbai?

GY
Gaurav Yadav Posted On : February 24th, 2023
PGDM from IMI Kolkata (Graduated 2020)

It is important to note that when it comes to placements in tier 3 B-schools, the job profiles offered are generally similar, with a focus on sales. However, the location of the B-school can have a significant impact on the placement opportunities available to students.

In cities where there are multiple B-schools located, such as Bangalore, Hyderabad, and Mumbai, competition between schools can be high, which affects the placements available to students. In contrast, schools located in cities without significant competition, such as IMI Kolkata and IMI Bhubaneshwar, may provide more reliable and decent placement opportunities.

HS
Hamza Shabir Posted On : February 24th, 2023
Lives in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India (2000–present)

It can be concluded that IBS Hyderabad is a better choice than IILM University based on the placement percentage, the average package offered, the highest international and domestic packages offered, and the top recruiters. IBS Hyderabad recorded a placement percentage of 99% with an average package offered of INR 8.71 LPA and a rise in the highest international package offered as compared to 2021. On the other hand, IILM University had a lower highest and average package offered at INR 18 LPA and INR 7.50 LPA, respectively.

Additionally, IBS Hyderabad has a strong brand value with over 58,000 alumni employed globally, while IILM University has limited brand recognition. The brand value of IBS Hyderabad, as an established B-School, contributes to better graduate placement opportunities through its alumni network and strong corporate relationships. In comparison, IILM University is not as well-known and its graduates may face limitations in terms of job opportunities. These factors highlight the superiority of IBS Hyderabad as a better option for those looking to pursue a management degree.

You do not have to worry about a cutoff for IBS Hyderabad. Your IBSAT scores and individual subjects scores are not revealed to you. You will receive a direct call for GD-PI, which is a crucial factor in determining which IBS campus you will be allotted to.

To increase your chances of getting a call, it is recommended that you attempt all questions during IBSAT as there is no negative marking.

The competition begins with the GD-PI process, as IBS Hyderabad scans about 20,000 shortlisted candidates for over 10 days, out of which only 1200 students are selected for the main campus, while the rest are allotted to other campuses based on their individual preferences.

To stand out in the process, you must work hard. If your goal is to get into IBS Hyderabad next year, it is advisable to focus on preparing for the GD-PI round. If you have a decent aptitude, you should be able to clear the IBSAT.

What is the cutoff for IBS Hyderabad through NMAT?

DG
Daksha Garg Posted On : February 24th, 2023
Lives in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India (2000–present)

IBS Hyderabad follows a profile-based admissions process, evaluating the candidate's potential fit, consistent academic performance, and work experience for admission into its MBA program. This leads to a good batch profile and peer learning opportunities.

For the NMAT exam, the historical cut-off score has been around 200. However, even if your score is slightly lower, you can still apply and be considered based on your profile. You can also apply using other exam scores such as CAT or XAT.

Please note that the latest trend in the NMAT exam has resulted in inflated scores, with the cut-off increasing by over 30 points. Thus, the figure of 200 is based on the most recent NMAT trends.

Which institute is better for an MBA: IBS Hyderabad, or MDI Murshidabad?

AJ
Arshit Jain Posted On : February 24th, 2023
Studied at ICFAI Business School, Hyderabad

MDI Murshidabad, established in 2014, recorded an average CTC of INR 11.32 LPA during the MBA class of 2022 placement drive. The highest CTC was INR 22 LPA. A total of 50 recruiters participated in the drive, with 34 of them being first-time recruiters, and 127 job offers were made.

An MBA program encompasses not only classroom sessions but also co-curricular activities like team management, team participation, event management, and networking. IBS Hyderabad provides a suitable environment for developing these skills.

When it comes to being hired, the first criterion is academic results, but they are mostly used as a cut-off criterion. To stand out among other candidates, an individual must have impressive extracurricular achievements and experience in managing small teams, which is essential for personal growth. Based on these factors, it is recommended to choose IBS Hyderabad.

SJ
Sidhharth Jain Posted On : February 24th, 2023
B.E(computer science),MBA in Finance & Marketing, ICFAI Business School, Hyderabad (Graduated 2019)

Your IBSAT score is not the only determining factor for admission to IBS Hyderabad. Your performance in the Group Discussion (GD) and Personal Interview (PI) rounds, as well as your academic background, will also be considered. It is advisable to prepare well for these rounds.

However, the return on investment (ROI) at IBS Hyderabad is relatively low. During the 2022 placement season, the college recorded a placement rate of 99%. The average package offered was INR 8.71 LPA, with the highest international and domestic packages being INR 53.45 LPA and INR 21 LPA, respectively. Despite these strong numbers, the cost of studying at IBS Hyderabad is relatively high, with students expected to spend 16 to 18 lakhs on their education.

Additionally, given that the college enrolls over 1200 students each year, competition for placements and other opportunities is intense. One advantage of studying at IBS Hyderabad is the opportunity to network with a diverse group of students from all over India. Whether you are able to fully take advantage of these opportunities will depend on your individual initiative and effort.

Is IBS a good college for an MBA in marketing? Which is the best campus: Hyderabad, Mumbai, or Pune?

JT
Jayant Thakur Posted On : February 24th, 2023
Studied at ICFAI Business School, Mumbai

Among the campuses of IBS, Hyderabad is considered the best, followed by Mumbai and Pune. It is assumed that the syllabus and course content are similar across the three campuses. Hyderabad is considered to be the best in terms of facilities and resources, while Mumbai is also a strong option, with good professors, case studies, presentations, and a well-equipped campus.

While IBS Hyderabad has a strong placement record, most of the offered positions are in sales. There are also opportunities in advertising, retailing, and other fields, but they are less prevalent. The pay packages offered by the college are decent. After gaining some experience through campus placements, you can explore job opportunities outside the college.

It is important to note that none of the IBS campuses are AICTE approved, but they are affiliated with ICFAI University in Dehradun. As an alternative, you can opt for a distance MBA program by paying an additional fee.
