Choosing between BITS Goa CS and IIT Roorkee (Civil or Chemical branch) majorly depends on different factors including your preference, interest, and career goals.
VIIT is the first preference of many students for civil engineering. NIRF and the Outlook rated this college 155th and 132nd respectively for engineering. VIIT Pune offers a B.Tech program in Civil Engineering.

One of my cousins was in a similar dilemma when she got selected for both Civil at NIT Jamshedpur and CSE at IIIT Ranchi. S he decided to go for NIT Jamshedpur as she had no interest in the IT sector at all. S he wanted a core branch and NIT Jamshedpur seemed to be her best choice. Moreover, its Civil branch placements are considered to be at par with the top NITs. In your case too, it's best to focus on your interests and future prospects to make a healthy decision. If you have even a slight interest in the IT sector, choose IIIT Ranchi because its CSE is way better than NIT Jamshedpur CSE.
Here is a brief overview of both the institutes'

CUSAT is considered to be a good place for Civil Engineering, considering the academic and exposure provided by the institute. Following are a few stats regarding the Civil Engineering department of CUSAT.

Some key highlights about the department are listed below:
Overall, Civil Engineering at CUSAT is a good choice for interested students.
One of my friends was in the same situation last year. He got IIEST Shibpur Metallurgy and Materials Engineering, Mining Engineering, and Civil Engineering along with a rank of 1383 in West Bengal State Merit List of NEET for MBBS admission converted with a mark of 462.
So, if you want to become a doctor and serve people and if it's the long-cherished dream of pursuing MBBS then you should leave IIEST and better prepare for NEET again. Different people will have different views regarding the decision of leaving a good college like IIEST but in the end, it completely depends upon your goals.
There is very little demand for civil engineers here in the Indian markets. Unfortunately, not many skilled civil engineers are output from any Indian engineering college.
There is no doubt to the fact that NIT Surathkal is an impressive institute with reputed faculty guiding the students, with an exception for the branch of civil engineering. Either the students are not able to develop sufficient interest in the same or the curriculum is not such that invokes interest or keeps them motivated enough. Moreover, it is also not in accordance with the industrial standards and needs.
CUSAT is a university that had colleges under it in the past. Now it only has colleges or schools to be exact. Which are under the main university campus.
Following are the various schools affiliated with CUSAT University.
The above-mentioned schools constitute the main campus. This is not the entire CUSAT, there is another campus for the university.
Lakeside Campus:
Apart from this, there is also CUCEK in Kuttanad, also known as the Pulincunnoo campus. So, if you get selected into civil engineering, then you will be studying in SOE which is inside the main campus.
Both IIT BHU and IIT Kanpur are one of the best and oldest institutes in India. But according to me IIT Kanpur is better than IIT BHU here are some reasons:
Considering the above points I could say go for IIT Kanpur over IIT BHU. Although, it depends on personal choice.
Yes, IIT Bhubaneswar is worth it to pursue civil engineering. Although it is a new name among IITs, it’s doing quite well. According to NIRF Ranking 2019 IIT Bhubaneswar was ranked at 26 among the engineering colleges all over India. It’s a popular belief that there is not much placement opportunity available for civil engineering students in India. And most of the students from this starts to prepare for non-core placements from the very beginning of their courses. But this is not the case for IIT Bhubaneswar. Past placement records suggest that 70% of the civil engineering students got core placements. Placement record for 2019 in IIT Bhubaneswar shows a total of 89% students from civil engineering got placement offers. During placement, the average salary package offered to civil engineering students is 10 LPA. The highest salary package offered even went up to 39 LPA over the years.
Students of this IIT have opportunities to do their internships in R & D organizations and in many foreign Universities. For summer internship program, students of IIT Bhubaneswar visited organizations such as ABB Ltd, Amazon, Microsoft, Aditya Birla Group, Airbus Group, India HINDALCO Industry, AIIMS Bhubaneswar, Bharat Dynamics Ltd, NTPC, PNB, Metlife, Wipro, BSNL, Jaipur Metro, BHEL, Vizag Steel Plant (RINL), DRDO, Mahindra & Mahindra, Jindal Stainless Steel.
So, yes, civil engineering at IIT Bhubaneswar is worth it as it will provide you with good placement and internship opportunities.
