With 95% in CBSE, should I try for a B.Com (Hons) from DU or pursue a BBA from Christ University?

A
Admin Posted On : May 16th, 2024

Both the colleges are well known and the degrees that you want to pursue are in high demand. However, it depends on your interests and preferences. A BBA degree from Christ University focuses on the various aspects of marketing, business administration, management, operation and human resources. The B.Com degree from Delhi University focuses on finance, commerce, economics and accounting. Another factor that you must consider is the location of the college and which is more comfortable for you. Both the colleges have active campus life but Christ is the winner because of the multiple events, fests and club activities that take place every day. The placements for both the courses are satisfactory. So, give it a thought and choose the degree that you are passionate about.

How are the IPM IIM Indore hostels?

PB
Praveen Singh Bakshi Posted On : January 2nd, 2023
Studied Indian Institute of Technology Jammu (Graduated 2021)

The hostels at IIM Indore keep changing over the years you spend in the college. Initially the first-year students are provided double occupancy rooms with the same gender. After the first year, single-occupancy rooms are made available

The basic amenities include

  • a fan
  • basic lighting
  • furniture for storage
  • study table

Only mattresses are provided while the rest of the bedding is to be arranged by the inmates only.

There are no attached bathrooms and about 5 to 8 rooms share one set of bathrooms which comprises two commodes, two bathrooms, and two wash basins.

The hostels do not have washing machines, however, there is a laundromat, as well as the services of an on-campus washerman, are available for a nominal price.

You are not allowed to bring your own electrical or electronic appliances like air coolers, refrigerators, individual TV sets, etc. You cannot bring your own vehicle also except for bicycles.

As far as the campus is concerned, classrooms are well-equipped and the campus has multiple mess and food joints, grocery store, medical center and medicine shop, fruits and vegetable store, washerman, barber, bank, post-office, ATMs, courier dispatch and delivery, photocopy and print shops, gyms and sports centers, and even two temples.

The lack of anything more than basic aims at facilitating a basic lifestyle at the hostel and not a lavish one.

What do you think about the IPM course being recently introduced in IIM Rohtak? Will the competition be less, as it is the first year?

NJ
Nisha Jha Posted On : August 2nd, 2021
Studied Master of Business Administration Degrees at Indian Institutes of Management

The IPM course offered by IIM Rohtak is an integrated program that includes BBA and MBA is for the students who have passed their class XII. This is a very unique and trending course. The foundational BBA course provides an edge for pursuing MBA degrees which, in turn, will help you become successful managers or leaders in the future. Also, the internship opportunity is provided right from the start of the course and will give you hands-on experience in the particular field.

Now coming to the competition, due to the limited seats offered, the competition is quite high. Usually, around 8,000-10,000 students apply during registrations, after the IPM AT, i.e. the entrance exam, only 800 students are selected for the WAT PI round. Finally, 140 students were selected to pursue the course.

Due to the uniqueness and diversified nature of the course, the competition is quite high for getting the seat.

How tough is IIM Indore IPM program entrance?

RJ
Rohan Jain Posted On : January 2nd, 2023
Selected for the IIM IPM '18

Math Section

This section is the trickiest as the given Maths problems are difficult even for the Maths students let alone the nin math students. The key lies in the approach to the question which is not at all easy. The questions can be asked from any topic and from any level. You need to be exceptionally talented at least for this section.

English Section

Try to attempt this section first as the questions are quite lengthy. But this section is comparatively easy, you can surely clear it.

Overall, the paper pattern is definitely tricky, after all, it is IIM, and the competition needs to be tough.

How is BBA from IGNOU?

RM
Rishabh Malhotra Posted On : November 3rd, 2022
Assistant manager-Inside Sales at Koenig Solutions (company)

Everything in life has advantages and disadvantages. Here are the advantages and disadvantages of BBA from IGNOU:

Pros:

  • IGNOU offers a BBA with a Specialization in Retailing (rather than a general BBA), which broadens your opportunities in the retail sector beyond sales and marketing.

  • Every year, you receive a certificate. As a result, you can begin working immediately after finishing your 12th grade and continue to advance each year. You don't have to wait three years for a degree before you can get a job. You can study while working.

  • Every year, you are given a project that allows you to gain real-world experience in the retail industry and complete it in retail organisations.

  • Retail Associations of India is collaborating with IGNOU-BBA. You will receive the best curriculum for it.

  • The course is written in simple language that is easy to understand, and it includes the best knowledge in the retail specialisation.

  • The cost of this course is the lowest of any university that offers distance education for BBA.

Cons:

  • There is no Math or Statistics subject in the entire BBA course from IGNOU, so it is entirely theoretical.

  • Unfortunately, some prestigious MBA programmes look for a Math subject in the course of graduation when accepting applications. However, there will be many colleges that will accept your degree.

  • Similarly, some government jobs require a Math subject as part of your bachelor's degree programme. However, there will be plenty of opportunities for you in the government. as well as the private sector for employment You can still apply for exams such as Bank PO, SSC, and UPSC.

  • The same exposure found in regular BBA will never be found in distance BBA. The reason for this is that you will not learn how to give presentations in front of an audience, which is essential if you are studying BBA.

This course is not offered in every city. So, before enrolling in IGNOU's BBA programme, you should contact the IGNOU regional centre in your city. Because this course is taken by a small number of students, it is only available in a few cities. However, when comparing distance universities for the course of BBA, it is recommended that IGNOU is the best because of its lower cost, reputation, and educational standard.
