While discussing NIT Kurukshetra and IIIT Lucknow I would suggest you go for NIT Kurukshetra. IIIT Lucknow is newly established and requires more experience.

With a rank of 17115 in JEE Main, I would like to suggest you go for NIT Kurukshetra. It has a better NIRF ranking than that of IIIT Lucknow.

As your interest leans towards CSE/IT, you can easily explore your coding knowledge or software skills beyond your opted branch. There is a good coding culture in NITs, you can learn coding from any branch depending on your interest and dedication.

You can approach any software company without any restriction of the branch at the time of placements. Moreover, NITs assist you with a remission policy which you won’t get in IIITs based on your family income.

There will be a NITian tag with you. Also, NIT provides you so much exposure regarding many activities such as cultural, sports or technical, these all will be beneficial.

• Campus & Facilities- IIIT Lucknow being a new campus needs time to fully function and for good sports facilities. IIT Guwahati has a permanent campus and welly developed sports facilities.

• Infrastructure- Labs of IIIT Guwahati are well established and all the types of equipment you need for practicals and research are there.
• Location- The IIIT Lucknow area is being developed so you will only find rubble there while near the IIITG construction of IT Park will boost the internships and placements of IIITG.
• At IIIT Guwahati you will gain good industrial knowledge other than the academic part.
• Placements- CSE at IIIT Guwahati has good placements than IIIT Lucknow.

CSE at IIIT Guwahati is a better option because of the placements and permanent campus.

My sister did her B.Tech from NIT Kurukshetra as it is one of the top-rated NIT and she had a wonderful time there.

If you choose a better college over a branch then you will have an advantage during placements as companies would be aching to visit for hiring new students. I have friends studying at both IIIT Lucknow and NIT Patna, and according to their first-hand experience, IIIT Lucknow is the better choice here. Here’s what you need to know.

• Curriculum: IIIT Lucknow has a great curriculumin terms of syllabus, classes, and coding culture. The competitive environment drives you to excel in every field.
• Facilities: You will get high-tech facilities in IIIT Lucknow designed for engineering and coding. Events like Hackathons and other tech fests are equivalent to IIIT Allahabad.
• Placements: My friend who completed his B.Tech from IIIT Lucknow experienced that your placement highly depends on how much you use online videos, courses to excel in your respective branch. Overall you need to be active and focus on improving your skills which might help you grab decent job packages. Moreover, the highest CTC recorded to 43 LPA while the average CTC is 18.4 LPA.

• Poor infrastructure: Unfortunately, the institute is not making much effort to improve facilities, organizing tech events. This is because they are currently focusing on the construction of the new campus of NIT Patna at Bihta near IIT Patna which is bound to be completed by 2024.

• Poor accommodation: You will have to adjust to double or triple seater rooms because you won’t get a single-seater room in all of your 4 years. Also, the PG options are not good in the surrounding area.

• Poor mess food: Just like the infrastructure, the Hostel Mess Committee is too reluctant to improve food quality in spite of knowing everything. Also, you won’t get any good quality restaurants nearby or any online food ordered after 10 pm.

• Outdated curriculum: Institute is still following the old curriculum and has outdated labs. Even the Classrooms are too outdated with broken benches and no Projectors are used to teach.

• Lack of extracurricular: There is a lack of proper clubs, sports facilities, tech-fests, and coding culture.

Overall, ECE at NIT Patna is not a good option. Go for CSE IIIT Lucknow any day for a great curriculum, great facilities, great location, and great placements. Also, the CSE branch gets you more chances of better placements in most colleges in India.

Having friends in both the colleges, I can say that MNIT Jaipur and IIIT Lucknow are equally good in their own ways. If you get a chance in any of these colleges, go for it.

Apart from getting admission in any one of either the only thing which would give you trouble is which field to choose? But, I would like to say that whatever field you choose, if you work hard and be honest with your studies you will land in a better place.

• But answering your question with rank 11803 in the JEE Main; I would like to say that MNIT Jaipur is a much better college than IIIT Lucknow.
• If you ask me, nowadays the trend and placement of MNIT Jaipur are on par. But, if you are really interested in CSE then definitely look for CSE or IT in well-established IIITs.
• And with the rank of 11803, you might have a chance to get into old IIITs or TIER 2 NITs.

And talking about IIIT Lucknow, Their campus just started functioning in 2020. Earlier IIIT Lucknow runs from IIIT Allahabad campus.

Further, getting a job in core trade is very difficult to go to IIIT Lucknow but do check the infrastructure and previous year placement record of IIIT otherwise join MNIT Jaipur in mechanical without any second thought.
