RR
Radhika Roy Posted On : July 16th, 2021
Studied at University of Mumbai (2019)

For MCA, one of my friends studying at Nirma suggested that if you're going for the first year, make sure you know your basics.

  • You should be familiar with C++, HTML, CSS, discrete maths, etc.
  • Discrete Maths is comparatively tougher than other topics.
  • OS, Java, and C++ must be at an advanced level if applying for second year or lateral entrance.
  • The campus is good. Their canteens are hygienic and affordable.
  • Nirma University is strict about attendance. You should have at least 85% attendance.
  • The administration and course structure gradually is tiring for students.
  • It has a fantastic library. Almost all of the books you'll ever need for your college career can be found here.
Categories MCA at Nirma University
Course Fee 4.50 lakh
Highest CTC 14 LPA
Average CTC 4.5 LPA
Recruiting Companies Amazon, Deutsche Bank, Cognizant, Infosys, etc.

Thus you can choose to go for an MCA at Nirma University. If you feel Nirma is not up to the mark and meets your requirements, then you can opt for MCA at DAIICT.

Which one is best for an MCA HPU Shimla or Chandigarh University?

AS
Aditi Sharma Posted On : March 22nd, 2023
Studied Chandigarh University (2018)

Himachal Pradesh University (HPU) is a well-renowned government university that offers quality education to students. However, when it comes to placements, there have been instances where the university has not performed as well as expected. It's important to note that placement outcomes are not solely dependent on the university, but also on other factors such as location, curriculum, alumni network, and industry relations.

On the other hand, if you choose to enroll in Chandigarh University, you can expect to be offered more industry-oriented and up-to-date courses that can increase your chances of getting a good placement. You will also have access to a dedicated placement cell that will assist you in finding job opportunities. It's important to note that there may be competition from Computer Science Engineering (CSE) students during placements, but if you have the required skills and knowledge, you can certainly succeed.

There are many successful MCA graduates from Chandigarh University who have secured good placements in reputed companies. If you are looking to secure a bright future, opting for CU may be a good choice for you. It's important to thoroughly research and consider all the factors before making a decision.

MCA is a highly competitive field. It is essential for you to opt for the absolute best institution in order to pursue an MCA degree. There are many institutions that provide an MCA course. Brainware University and UEM Kolkata are both highly established institutions who provide a top-notch program in MCA.

If we are to draw a comparison between the two universities, it is safe to conclude that UEM Kolkata proves to be better than Brainware University, in terms of its state-of-the-art infrastructure, modern facilities, placement services and more. UEM was recommended by a close friend due to a few reasons listed below:

  • Infrastructure: The campus, classrooms and seminar halls are very spacious. They are designed to make sure that we had the best educational experience.
  • Faculty: One of my cousins also recommended UEM as it has specialized faculty members who are trained academic experts from the industry.
  • Placements: One of the most important personal reasons to choose UEM Kolkata for MCA was the access to great placement services. It is responsible for guiding and helping students with the best possible internship and job opportunities as per their field of study.

Here is some details about both the colleges:

MCA Computer Science, Goa University (2014)

Goa University offers you with all the good aspects there are of a university. The students who have passed out from here will agree to it- about the faculty and placements as well.

  • The previous year students have the same feedback about the professors there like the present year students.
  • The faculty is very supportive and polite.
  • They make sure to keep you updated with all the latest technology.
  • They know what they are teaching and have in-depth knowledge of their specialised courses.
  • But do not leave it all to them because there has to be efforts from your side too.
  • It is always about give and take, it has to be both ways.
  • As for the placement, certainly, some good companies and IT MNCs come for the recruitment and if you have it in you, then you can crack the interview as well.
  • You will have to make sure to keep your result up to a level and appear for the interviews.

It is not easy but if you set your mind to it, then it is possible. You can talk directly to the alumni to find out more about the intricacies of the course and the college.

Is Mathematics required for MCA admission in Jadavpur University?

AC
Abhishek Chauhan Posted On : February 16th, 2023
PGDM/MBA from S. P. Jain Institute of Management and Research (SPJIMR) (Graduated 2021)

Yes, you can get admission to MCA in Jadavpur University even if you have not studied Mathematics in class 12 provided that you have completed BCA. Subsequently, the requirements for MCA are

  • The candidate must have studied Mathematics in class 12

Or

  • The candidate must have completed the BCA

BCA curriculum includes Maths based electives and therefore does not make it necessary to have studied Mathematics in class 12. Candidates coming from BSc or BCom must have studied mathematics necessarily in class 12.

One major advantage of doing an MCA after BCA is that you get to choose between a 2-year MCA and a 3-year MCA. which is also known as literal entry specially for the students who are coming from Computer Science based graduation.

To be on the safer side, you can again give exams by filling out the NIOS form (National institute of open schooling) and can give exams for mathematics. In case your Bachelor subjects are not considered this Certificate will come to use.

MCA at NIT Surathkal 2021

  • Students who are above average and relatively skilled in the subject, usually get placed in companies such as Citi and IBM with their average CTC ranging to about INR 10 LPA.
  • Others who belong in the top 10 section, get placed in several high-paying companies with around INR 15 LPA and above.
  • On the flip side, students who are partially average, or speaking in terms of the median package students commonly receive is around INR 5 LPA in various startups or companies alike.

Here is a statistical representation of the latest placement highlights of MCA at NIT Surathkal,

Moreover, if you are a student currently and have a CGPA that is 7.5 or slightly more, then you can expect jobs that are of about INR 8 LPA.
