Many students drop out of placements to start working on their own startup. Apart from this the lowest package at IIM Ahmedabad was INR 11 LPA in the year 2021 and INR 6.75 LPA in 2016. This does not include incentives and variable parts of the CTC.

Do all M.Tech students in the IIIT Bangalore get a stipend?

PP
Pratik Parikh Posted On : October 9th, 2023
Lives in Bangalore

IIIT Bangalore, although approved by AICTE, does not offer any stipend to its MTech students. However, there are a few companies that sponsor students' tuition fees based on merit. This is done either by conducting an exam or by someone based on their previous academic profile. The number of students who can avail of this opportunity is very limited and sometimes there is a clause requiring them to work as an intern or do some projects for the company that offered the scholarship. Students receive a stipend if they are a TA or RA.

Hope this helps you!

RT
Raktim Tarafdar Posted On : July 13th, 2023

The placements for Jaipuria Institute of Management Lucknow are held along with the other three campuses.

Jaipuria Institute of Management has a one-of-a-kind ‘Uncampus’ which combines all four campuses- Lucknow, Noida, Jaipur, and Indore. This ensures common admissions, centralized placements, intra-campus faculty exchange, a uniform curriculum, and a vast and diverse alumni network.

During the 2023 placements at Jaipuria Institute of Management, 1000 offers were made to a batch of 930 students. Over 300+ recruiters, including 110+ new recruiters, participated in the placements.

The average package for the top 10% of students stood at INR 12.34 LPA. The average package for the top 20% of students stood at INR 11.08 LPA.

The sector-wise offers for Jaipuria Institute of Management are as given below-

Jaipuria institute of management,Noida

Currently, my elder brother is placed at Cognizant as a senior business analyst at 14 Lakh CTC in IIM Kashipur. How much would he be earning in the next 5 years?

AK
Aditya Kodte Posted On : January 5th, 2023
MBA from Indian Institute of Management Kashipur (Graduated 2019

The IT industry today is flourishing and is facing a huge shortage. So he will definitely land a great job especially if he is a BBA/BCOM graduate.

Cognizant does not have very fast growth. So depending on his performance, and economic and academic background, he might witness growth between 2% to 10%. If he is an engineer from the IT stream, his growth will be faster.

In my personal opinion, his IT background does not make him suitable for IIM Kashipur or even Lucknow. An IT software engineer with 2 years of experience earns around 18 to 20 lakh.

Why do the IIIT Hyderabad bags the highest salary amongst IITs and IIITs?

AD
Ankita Dua Posted On : July 31st, 2023
Studied at International Institute of Information Technology, Hyderabad

It's true that IIIT Hyderabad students secure better packages than top IIT students. In fact, the average package of IITs for instance IIT Bombay is INR 23.26 LA whereas that of IIIT Hyderabad is INR 32 LPA. There are a number of factors that have resulted in this difference in packages.

  • IIIT-Hyderabad students have always been in demand by many foreign companies and Indian corporates. IT giants like Facebook and Apple initially only approached IIIT Hyderabad for placements and slowly made their way to IITs.
  • The highly research-focused education churns out graduates who are better suited to solve unstructured problems, exploring options by themselves. This is what most companies are looking for.
  • IIIT Hyderabad’s unique course structure in which all the courses are CS tailored plays an important role in preparing students for jobs in MNCs.
  • course structure makes a big difference in median salaries
  • Another reason why IIIT Hyderabad has a higher average package is that it has only 2 branches, ECE and CSE. It's a no-brainer that CSE receives the highest package in every institute so the institute that offers only CSE and ECE automatically tends to have a higher average package than an institute that has a variety of branches. Because of a wide range of branches, the average packages offered in top IITs get diluted.

In a refuted claim,  IIT-Madras's Director, Bhaskar Ramamurthi states that ‘if we compare similar cohorts and discipline-wise median salaries, IIT graduates are likely to have higher median salaries’.

Is NSIT ECE a wise choice over NSIT IT? What is the average and highest package offered to the students of these branches in NSIT?

SM

Whether the choice is wise or not depends upon your personal interests. ECE is a better choice if electronics interests you. IT would prove better if you are into coding, technology, and computers, and wish to work in this field.

During 2022 B.Tech placements, the overall median package at NSUT Delhi stood at INR 16 LPA. The ECE branch has access to almost all the tech companies during NSUT Delhi placements. Whereas, IT students can’t sit for core companies. However, some top coding companies do not allow other branches except COE and IT to sit for their placements.

Like any other college, tech companies visit NSUT Delhi in greater numbers. But ECE students learn coding and are easily placed in brands like Facebook, Google, etc. The highest and average packages for IT are better than those for ECE. However, the ECE also has a greater number of students.

Right now, I would suggest you focus more on your interests than the placements. This is because, with an interest in your field, you will surely land a good job. Your dedication and commitment will play a greater role than your branch in deciding your future.

What is the expected ROI from IIM-Lucknow, other than networking and brand?

AA
Ayush Agarwal Posted On : January 8th, 2023
B.Tech. in Computer Science and Engineering, Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Institute of Technology, Jalandhar (NITJ) (Graduated 2020)

Don’t let people mislead you into believing that ROU is just a materialistic element and does not have much value. Once you are out of B-school you just want to have a financially stable life. The fees you have invested are much more than just fees. It is the skills, time, and foregone salaries of 2 years.

The jobs you land out of a B School are based on your past performance, especially during summer placements. In fact, many high-paying jobs in the B-school placement reports are Summer Internship PPOs.

IIM Lucknow is an outstanding institute considering the ROI aspect. Don’t let yourself into the delusion that MBA is for learning and not for money. If that were the case you would be better off doing a Ph.D. rather than a job.

Why average salary of IIT Roorkee M.Tech (CSE) is similar to tier-3 (or average) engineering colleges?

AS
Anuj Sinha Posted On : April 14th, 2023
B.Tech from Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee (2021)

Sadly, most companies prefer UG students over PG students because they can get the same job done with a smaller package and they are more flexible than MTech students. There are mainly two types of people who opt for MTech

  • Research enthusiasts who target Ph.D.
  • People who weren’t able to land a good package after BTech

As far as placements are concerned, those who want to pursue a Ph.D. eventually have zero interest in placements while those who are looking for a job consider an MTech degree as a door to better opportunities and packages.

While some companies offer similar packages and profiles to both BTech and MTech students, most other companies discriminate between them. It’s sad to admit that most companies don’t prefer MTexh students over BTech students. However, some students with exceptionally good performance or skills may land a package of around INR 10 LPA. Other students receive low packages bringing down the overall average CTC of the Institute. This is why the average salary of MTech students at IIT Roorkee is very much similar to that of below-average institutes.
