How do toppers at IIT, especially IIT-Kharagpur study?

AT
Aditya Trivedi Posted On : March 21st, 2023
Studied at IIT Kharagpur

A few of my friends were Institute toppers and I asked them about their study method. Most of my topper friends study just 2 days before exams in the library and then teach their friends and clear their doubts.

Another topper friend solved all the previous year question papers of the subject and uploads the solutions on the Facebook group a day before the exam. She never missed any class, had great handwriting and prepared great notes.

So basically, toppers , prepare for the exams way before most of us even begin. They are kind, selfless and are ready to help anyone who is unable to cope up.

Ultimately, every student has his unique way of studying.

Is it worth paying 16 lakhs for Manipal Institute of Technology?

AB
Aditi Banerjee Posted On : September 7th, 2023
Lives in Bangalore

Yes, it’s definitely worth paying 16 Lakhs for Manipal Institute of Technology. However, you should change your mindset regarding ROI. You shouldn’t consider education as something that will give you an ROI instantly. You need to change that perspective else you won’t be able to fly high. It’s illogical to compare numbers like fees and salary packages.

The primary purpose of education is to prepare you for life’s challenges. The place that gives you wings to fly. Basically, college life is about identifying yourself.
Manipal is an institute offering a plethora of opportunities. The crowd is from every nook and corner of the world, every walk of life and educational background. Manipal gives you the skills to actively participate in every field. The academics are delivered by some of the best faculty and non-academics are promoted through various clubs and committees. At the end of 4 years, MIT will give you clarity of thought and the confidence to lead your life on your own terms.

Are sessional papers tough at IET Lucknow?

AA
Ashita Arora Posted On : August 2nd, 2021
Studies ECE at NIT Durgapur

One of my cousins is part of the institute and has varied opinions. Primarily, it depends on the faculty of the institute. Other than that, here are things he says are essential to note,

  1. The papers usually in ME can be slightly difficult to ace. However, if you are in your 1st year, you should completely avoid copying from your peers.
  2. Try maintaining a good attendance score since it will help acquire at least 35 out of 50.
  3. EC department can go on to creating trouble. Although, it depends completely on the faculty.
  4. For other departments, you should choose to attempt every question instead of skipping them since it might help you achieve marks over 40, with the addition of your attendance.
  5. You should always maintain a cool temperament with the faculty.

Other than that, always be vigilant. Hope this helps answer your query, wish you all the best!

Is it possible to get a seat in NALSAR Hyderabad with 5 months of preparation belonging to science stream?

BK
Bhawna Khurana Posted On : September 15th, 2021
Studied BA LLB from NALSAR University of Law ,Hyderabad (2022)

My best friend was in the science stream and took admission as a B.Tech student in IIT Kharagpur, but afterward, he prepared for Law for 3 months and got through. He's an advocate today.

It is absolutely possible to prepare for the exam in such a short period. Just maintain the balance and if you could, devote more time for preparation. Strategic time management and discipline are what you need.

Work on the derivations in Physics and concepts. Read current affairs in between and this will be a good way to work in balance.

What is the reputation of IIMs and XLRI outside India?

GS
Gaurav Sharma Posted On : April 10th, 2023
studied at Xavier School of Management

If you are considering pursuing higher education, you may be wondering whether a degree from a foreign university is worth the investment. Here are some points to consider:

  • Indian vs Foreign degree: While having a degree from a prestigious Indian business school like IIM or XLRI can give you an edge in certain industries, it may not be enough to secure top positions in international organizations. For example, most top tech companies like Google and Microsoft have CEOs who are not from Indian business schools.
  • Prestige of foreign universities: Many foreign universities are well-known for their high-quality education, research opportunities, and global networks. Some of the most prestigious universities in the world are located in countries like the US, UK, and Australia.
  • Networking opportunities: Studying abroad can provide you with opportunities to connect with people from diverse backgrounds, which can help you build a global network of contacts. This can be especially beneficial if you are interested in pursuing an international career.
  • Career prospects: Having a degree from a foreign university can increase your chances of finding employment in certain industries or countries. Employers may be impressed by your international experience and language skills and may view you as a valuable asset to their organization.
  • Cultural exposure: Studying in a foreign country can expose you to new cultures, languages, and ways of thinking. This can help you develop a broader perspective and become more adaptable to change.

Ultimately, the decision to pursue a degree from a foreign university should depend on your personal goals and priorities. If you have the opportunity to study at a reputable foreign university, it may be worth considering the benefits and weighing them against the potential costs. However, if you are unable or unwilling to study abroad, there are still many great Indian business schools that can provide you with a high-quality education and excellent career prospects.
