What are the overall pros and cons of LNCT Bhopal for a CS B.Tech student?
Let’s evaluate the pros and cons to get a better understanding.
Pros:
- LNCT has the best campus among the private colleges of Bhopal.
- It is recognized by the NBA
- It has a good infrastructure. The labs are operational. Classes are held as scheduled.
- You will have good exposure.
- LNCT has a great placement record. In the 2020 placements, the highest CTC offered was 27 LPA.
Cons:
- The management is not that cooperative.
- Your attendance is more important than your ability.
- Canteen food is bad, and you can't go anywhere on campus except for lunch.
- It is situated far from the main city.
- There are fewer extracurricular opportunities than at other state colleges.
- Campus Hostel food is awful.

Which is better in terms of academics for CSE, placement, fee and location, NIT Arunachal, NIT Silchar or PEC Chandigarh?
My sister is an alumnus of NIT Arunachal Pradesh and has also visited NIT Silchar several times. As per her experience, the preference order to follow while making a choice between these institutes should be
- NIT Silchar > NIT Arunachal Pradesh>PEC
The reason I placed NIT Silchar first is because it has better rankings, and even the connectivity issues have been resolved. One can now reach Silchar by road, train and via air. This has improved the placement scenario to a great extent.
My JEE Mains general AIR is 16927, I got CSE in IIIT Sri city in 2nd round counselling. Is it surely good to opt for it or not?
Your choice depends on your expectations from your desired college. IIIT Sri City is quite a decent college except for its location.
- The faculty here is outstanding and highly qualified. They’re very cooperative and would provide you with proper guidance.
- Coming to the location, it makes the days gloomy as there are no proper corners for hanging out and refreshing yourself after a tiring day at college.
- Some of the extra-curriculums organized by the college are bicycle rides, kayaking, and trekking.

IIIT Sri City is a decent option. However, with your rank, you can convert to other colleges too, such as NIT Patna, Hamirpur, IIITDM Jabalpur. So, cover all your options and choose according to your convenience.
Should I join IIITDM Jabalpur or IIIT Guwahati for CSE?
There are numerous factors to consider before enrolling in any institute.
In terms of curriculum, it is assumed that the CSE curriculum at IIIT Guwahati is on par with that of any other institute of national importance. Many of the seniors landed good jobs in MNCs, and despite the location taboo, they were able to find suitable placements.
Because Jabalpur is in Central India, more companies will undoubtedly visit the campus. However, you are aware that they are also in the design and management fields. In contrast, the IIT Guwahati curriculum is completely different from theirs in that regard (it includes courses such as optimization techniques which IIITDM does not possibly have). In CSE, a greater emphasis is placed on software development and machine learning. So if you want to be in the middle of nature, join IIIT Guwahati. Whoever said this might be an immature student in their field of study, perhaps a freshman or a sophomore.
It is recommended to compare the faculty research areas and qualifications in both institutes as well as the infrastructure, placement record, and curriculum. Then you'll be able to choose which type of institute you want to attend.
What should I take: computer science, IIT Ropar, or production and industrial engineering, IIT Delhi?
Both IIT Delhi and IIT Ropar are highly reputable institutes in India, and both have strong programs in production industrial engineering and computer science engineering, respectively. However, if I were in your place, I would have chosen IIT Delhi Production and Industrial Engineering. Here are some strong points supporting my stance
- Location : Located in the capital city, IIT Delhi offers great access to coaching institutes for preparation for IAS, IES, GATE, or any other competitive exams. This won’t be possible at IIT Ropar.
- Reputation: IIT Delhi's Overall ranking by NIRF is 3 out of 200 colleges in India in 2023 while that of IIT Ropar is 33 out of 200 colleges in India in 2023.
- Reputation: IIT Delhi is not just an institute it’s a brand that every recruiter and student is aware of.
- Curriculum: IIT Delhi Production and Industrial Engineering has courses similar to Mechanical students so the job opportunities are also similar. Additionally, you can learn some management skills through subjects like industrial engineering subjects Quality control, Operations research, Production planning, and control, etc
- Placements: IIT Delhi has a track record of excellent placements way better than IIT Ropar. It can further be understood through the table below

Considering everything, IIT Delhi is a better option than IIT Ropar. The opportunities, brand name, and academic environment you will have access to will be unmatched. However, if you have a specific inclination towards the CS branch and want to pursue a career in the same, you can also consider joining IIT Ropar as the CS branch has diverse job opportunities even for the average students.
Which is better for CSE, IIIT Guwahati or NIT Andhra Pradesh?
You can opt for NIT Andhra Pradesh. Now, you may be hesitant about choosing it because it is 2 years younger than IIIT Guwahati. But NIT Andhra Pradesh has both a very good location and faculty. The location of your institute matters since there are few companies that clearly do not visit the North East for placements. Even though IIIT Guwahati does not qualify to be at a very remote location, you will definitely have better options at NIT Andhra Pradesh.

The 2 years gap does not necessarily make noticeable differences, but the location does. For example, NIT Goa is only 7 years old but still has notable placement stats only because of its favorable location. So, if you want to enroll in IIIT, then either IIIT, Trichy, or Sri City can be considered better than IIIT Guwahati. IIIT Guwahati also had poor placements for CSE in recent years.
The final decision is yours, but NIT Andhra is definitely a better choice.
How is Acharya Institute of Technology for CSE in terms of college life, the study environment, the ratio of North Indians, the food, the hostel, etc.? Please elaborate.
The CSE department of Acharya Institute of Technology is quite good, considering the overall educational facilities, hostels, and environment. A friend of mine attended the institute. Here is his review regarding the facilities provided by the institute.
- Comparing with other departments, the CSE department is quite decent, with good laboratories, clean classrooms, and overall good infrastructure.
- The environment inside the campus of Acharya Institute of Technology is quite good for students to study peacefully. Candidates having doubts about the internal environment can clarify the same from internal faculties.
- There is an almost equal ratio of North Indians and South Indians inside the campus.
- The hostels provided by Acharya Institute of Technology are good, compared to hostels of other institutes. There are double and triple sharing rooms, which cost around Rs. 1.1 and Rs. 1.47 lakhs per annum respectively. Inside the rooms, the institute provides tables and chairs to study. There are medical facilities available inside the campus.
- For internet services, the institute provides LAN for laptops only inside the rooms. There is WIFI connectivity at the corridor, where most social networking and online shopping sites are blocked. But, these sites can be accessed through LAN after 5 PM.
- Talking about the food in hostels, there is a 3-time meal system- breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Overall, the food is considered to be good, with both rice and chapatti in lunch and dinner. Sumber is a must.

Which is better: IT from NSIT, IT from DTU, or CSE from IIIT Delhi?
IT from NSIT is the best option among these.
- The student crowd is brilliant. It has a small batch size compared to DTU. So, you will face less competition.
- NSIT has an amazing pool of faculties. You will get to learn from excellent faculty members like Sangeeta Sabharwal and MPS Bhatia.
- NSIT IT placements are better than DTU and IIIT D. DTU has a better placement record for core branches. While NSIT offers better placements opportunities to CS and IT students. In the recent placement drive, the average CTC for IT at NSIT was INR 6 LPA.
- Companies like Facebook, Google hire students from NSIT from their US offices.
- Major consulting and non-tech companies like Bain, BCG, ZS Associates, etc. also visit the campus placements.
IIIT Delhi has an excellent research culture and professors from top universities like Carnegie Mellon. So, if you are interested in research, you should choose IIIT D. Overall IT from NSIT is the best option in terms of academics and placements.
What should I choose between IIT Roorkee electrical or IIT Bhubaneswar CSE in terms of placement and future prospects?
In this case, Electrical Engineering at IIT Roorkee would be a better option. The only exception being that you have an inclination towards studying CSE.
IIT Roorkee enjoys a strong national and international reputation. While IIT Bhubaneswar is growing and gaining recognition, it can’t yet match the established reputation of IIT Roorkee. The strong alumni network of IIT Roorkee provides significant advantages in terms of mentorship, networking and job opportunities. Additionally, Electrical Engineering provides a solid foundation for higher studies and research.

CSE is a highly known branch with numerous opportunities in the tech industry, and placements for CSE are generally strong. But the newer IITs do not attract as many top-tier companies for placements as old IITs like IIT Roorkee.
In conclusion, I would suggest you choose Electrical Engineering at IITR over CSE at IIT BBSR.
