I got selected in IBS Mumbai. Is there a chance for to swap my campus to IBS Hyderabad? I have gotten an 85 percentile.
I don’t really understand why you want to change campuses when the Mumbai campus is the most coveted one. I have a friend who despite being an IBS Hyderabad pass-out, considers the Mumbai campus way superior after spending months on a summer internship there.
He considers the IBS Hyderabad to be overestimated and apart from infrastructure, IBS Powai/Hiranandani is much better in all aspects. Moreover, the Mumbai campus enjoys the locational advantage of being closest to the city of dreams. The campus is in the vicinity of IIT Mumbai so you get to interact with many geniuses also.
On the other hand, IBS Shankarpally, despite having top-notch infrastructure, lacks connectivity. You are disconnected from other students and the entire world if you choose this college.
Is ICFAI university (IBS hyderabad) a good university for engineering?
My sister is a CSE major who has been studying at ICFAI for 3 years. She says that the when she had joined the placement scenario was average but the recent batches have witnessed better placement opportunities. Let’s discuss further about ITS on the basis of the following factors
- Faculty: The extremely qualified and experienced faculty is very few. The rest are average professors. The Electronics and Maths departments are said to have the best professors.
- Research: The research culture at ITS is rather bleak. Lack of research oriented work is a crucial matter for students who are interested in research work.
- Curriculum: The institute's curriculum model, syllabus, semester and internship patterns and even pedagogy Is almost similar to that of BITS-PILANI.
- Campus: The institute is said to have the most beautiful campus in the city of Hyderabad. The ambiance around the campus is calm and serene making it perfect for studies. The serenity of the campus is a major reason why many students choose it over other colleges.
- Diversity: The institute leaves no stones unturned while selecting students from diverse backgrounds and cultures.
ITS is a very good option for those who are willing to study hard and make new friends in their journey.

Should I do a BBA from Christ University or IBS hyderabad?
It’s your attitude towards learning that matters more than the college itself. Yet if I have to comment on the two colleges, I would say Christ University is a fairly good choice. The main reasons are
- The fest culture makes you come out of your comfort zones and test your limits and diversify your talents.
- The overqualified rules set by the college increase your patience level ten folds
- You get to live in Bangalore, the city of innumerable opportunities and dreams.
However, if you are joining the college with the mindset of being taught then you need to rectify it. Here it’s you who has to force yourself to learn no one is going to push you. Anyone who wants to learn about business, in reality, will not be able to gain much from this B School. The B School churns out managers only. Rarely does it give birth to a business owner or entrepreneur despite the university’s module for entrepreneurship in a semester.
Should I go with IBS Hyderabad or Woxsen Hyderabad?
IBS Hyderabad has many shortcomings
when compared to Woden Hyderabad which is a relatively new college. Some major drawbacks IBS faces today are
- Batch-size: The biggest flaw is the huge batch size that obstructs personal attention to its students. Woxsen on the other hand has a much smaller batch size and promotes better teamwork and peer interaction. The smaller batch size at Woxen ensures the entire batch to be taught by extremely talented faculty whereas the large batch size of ISB does not let the entire batch to be taught by the best professors. The visiting faculty who are the industry’s top-notch experienced professionals only conduct auditorium sessions and thus not the entire batch can attend.
- Campus life: IBS Hyderabad has a much livelier campus life being new and decked with world class facilities. Its infrastructure speaks of the most modern example of an internationally acclaimed architecture. Whereas IBS has shared housing, substandard infrastructure and a submissive environment.
- Growth: Woxen has been growing at a spectacular rate and its placement statistics are a testament to that. Top companies like Amazon, KPMG, Virtusa, HDFC, and ICICI Sec visit Woxsen for placements.
The only advantage IBS Hyderabad has over Woxen is its legacy of being one of the oldest B Schools in India. Because of its early establishment, it now attracts a pool of the best recruiters better than that at Woxen.
What is the percentile cutoff for IBS Hyderabad with respect to the IBSAT percentile?
Firstly, ISB Hyderabad has no cutoff whatsoever. In fact, the marks of ISBAT and individual subjects are not revealed ever. The eligible candidates directly receive a call inviting them to the GD-PI process. So attempting the test with full confidence and preparation is more than enough to get the call. Since there is no negative marking you can attempt as many questions as possible.
The main struggle starts post-ISBAT if you get selected for GD-PI. From around 20000 shortlisted candidates only 1200 are selected for the main campus. So instead of ISBAT, your main focus should be on preparing for the GD-PI round. Anyone with decent aptitude skills can get shortlisted but only a few who have an extraordinary profile and stand out from the crowd can get selected during the GD-PI process.
Which is best between Op Jindal Global Global Business School, Haryana and ICFAI IBS, Hyderabad?
I know someone whose father is a director at OP Jindal Global Business School. However, he wasn’t delighted with the B School’s performance and kept changing schools. OPJGBS initially began its Law courses at Sonepat. It later added many more courses. The B School is away from the crowded NCR and has a big campus. So this school is a good option for you only if you live in and around NCR and have no other option. You also need to have enough financial resources as the fees of the B School are pretty high.
ISB Hyderabad on the other hand has an established reputation of being one of the oldest B Schools in India. It has a far better standing and worth than OPJGBS and should definitely be preferred over the latter. However one can say that ISB Hyderabad has lost its original charm owing to the increasing batch size and lack of vision.
How is IBS Hyderabad?

Overall ISB Hyderabad will offer an enriched learning experience. The only major flaw is a major size, and if you manage to stand out, that is not an issue.
Should I go for an MBA at IBS Hyderabad, or in UPES Dehradun?
I hope you have already decided on your specialization. So it’s better that you go for that specific course than a regular MBA at UPES Dehradun. If you take up the regular MBA you will have to study general subjects in the first year and your choice of specialization subjects in the second. Whereas if you go for MBA in International Business or Logistics and Supply Chain Management, you'll be taught subjects concerning that specialization from semester one itself. This will help you in the long run.
One more thing you should know is that for International Business, IBS Hyderabad is a much better choice than UPES. The placement scenario at UPES for IB is yet to improve.
Can you please set the preference order for the following MBA colleges: IBS-Hyderabad, IMT-Nagpur, XIME-Banglore, Welingkar-Mumbai, Bimtech-Noida?
Honestly speaking all the B Schools you mentioned are just glamorous brand names with no real value. The placement scenario is very pathetic here as the companies that visit are looking for students who can work at fewer salaries. Only the extremely meritorious students get good packages and that too is rare.
So I will suggest that if you have scored 95+ in CAT, then you are capable of more. So work hard and target a better B School next year. Remove these colleges from your list of options and attempt CAT again.
If you are not very sure about attempting CAT again then prepare yourself for a package as low as 5-6 LPA.
